You recommend critical thinking? Have you tried using it?
If you actually read my posts you would quite impressed with how well I've applied critical thinking to my study of Hubbard's work from the first.

O YEAH!!!
From the Fifties when the Pirates were the worst team in the league...

There once was a footballer from SFO in scn. He was their "Big Celebrity". His name is/was John Brodie. Whatever happened to him?O YEAH!!!

Brodie was a big story. He was a good NFL quarterback for years with a mediocre team. After the '69 season his wing arm was so sore he thought he would have to retire but after some dianetics from Phil Spickler he turned in an exceptional season in '70 leading Kezar Krew to it's first winning season since 1957 and the conference championship against Dallas which they lost in a very competitive effort. There once was a footballer from SFO in scn. There was also a 'famous' actor, Stephen Boyd, who was "promoted" on flyers as a "Power" completion. In the 60's? 70's? Where are these guys?
If you google it you will also find "Angels In The Outfield" was a 1951 film featuring then then hapless Pirates (112 losses that year and endless source of humor for it's best known player Joe Garagiola)Angels in the Outfield is about the LA Angels, though, when they were on a long losing streak. Its a story about a little boy whose drifter father gave him up. The father told the boy he'd have a family when the Angels win the championship, so the boy prays for the Angels to win. Then the boy keeps seeing angels interfering with the baseball games, lifting players to catch pitches, helping them bat...

The story has a happy ending. I'm sure you can get it at your local library, maybe even watch it there.

easily solved:Of Boyd I know little and care less but I believe the old adage "An actress is more than a woman but an actor is less than man" fit him well.
The bio has no mention of his involvement with Scientology
thank God for small favorsThe bio has no mention of his involvement with Scientology
Y'all best stay away from orgs lest y'all be viewed as Peking DuckI self-identify as a sitting duck, a peeking duck and another brick in the wall.
Spiritual development is aimed at, among things, self transcendence..
LOL !
Whoa! I believe you have just discovered Scientology's dirtiest little secret!
To wit, that it is a lavishly expensive, decades-long auditing session focused on as-ising the ultimate source of all counter-intention and evil purposes that aberrates a being and in so doing, prevents Scientology from clearing the planet.
Once that is vanquished, planetary conquest & clearing becomes a reality!
It's so simple.
And best of all, Scientology generously allows you to pay for erasing yourself.
Everyone please now stand, facing the wall portrait of the mentally ill con man in a naval costume and flow admiration by loudly chanting: HYP-HYP----HYP-POCRISY!
.
The auditor is courageous?
Is "The Auditor" the same person as "The Being"?
As in, "the being always knows".
Dianetics was heralded as a bigger discovery than fire or the wheel.
It will be a far bigger discovery that Dianetics when someone finally discovers who "the being" is.
I started listing it in session recently and didn't come up with any LFBD F/N item yet.
Here's what I've got so far after 12.5 hours of solo L&N:
WHO IS THE BEING?
The Commodore sf
The COB tic
Buddha x
Tom Cruise x
Xenu tic
Yeah, I know, that's not much to show after an intensive of listing items.
Obviously this listing question restimulates a very heavy part of the wholetrack, so that means that my awareness is so high that I am bumping into advanced materials and that is causing me to not be able to list more items so far.
It's really a validation, I guess, that I can't find the right item, it shows I am an elite Pre-OT with extreme knowingness. So, I've got that going for me.
1) taken the great intelligenge of the great spirit who created things (in the event such great spirit does exist)Spiritual development is aimed at, among things, self transcendence.
Auditing can be highly effective in developing self transcendence as it's honest practioners are interested solely in the well-being of the preclear...
Yes, he said that. Believing in something so thoroughly works like hypnotism and can have a temporary effect of relieving pain, feeling pain. Under hypnosis, people actually had burns appear and disappear on their skin. Of course, it's not a real heal and injuries that are more than skin deep return.Brodie was a big story. He left when Phil was declared; a common story as we all know

You seem to be ascribing the rejuvenation of this individual to the dianetic auditing that according to you he evidently received. You harp on and on about how 'scientific' dianetics is and that DMSMH is a masterwork on understanding how the mind works.Brodie was a big story. Strati, You well know that when someone reports that "the process didn't work" one must instantly go on the attack and find out what they did wrong. Because standard tech works 100% of the time when correctly applied. You're just bitching and moaning about lousy practitioners, not the magnificent tech given to us by the most under-acclaimed genius, humanitarian, naval officer, philosopher, pilot, explorer, nuclear physicist, musician, whole-track race car driver and tomato grower of the 20th century! You harp on and on about how 'scientific' dianetics is and that DMSMH is a masterwork of understanding how the mind works.
The essence of the scientific method is reproducibility, so how do you explain the failure of it to work for the doubtless tens, maybe even hundreds of thousands of people who have looked to dianetics to 'cure' them of some physical impediment of another and haven't found it efficacious in the slightest. You talk about one case where it supposedly worked and ignore the thousands of cases where it did not. If it really was as wonderful and 'scientific' as you are forever trying to persuade us that it is we wouldn't be here to begin with, we'd all be doing very well for ourselves running highly lucrative dianetics practices.
I remember one particular PC at London org with the initials SB. She had a crippling arthritic condition and had innumerable hours of dianetic auditing because she was being constantly assured that it would alleviate her suffering. She was around the org for years and her condition did nothing but get steadily worse.
These days most of us here know better, but despite all the evidence to the contrary you continue to spout this garbage about how wonderful dianetics is and help to promulgate this dishonesty and misinformation.
Despicable is what I call it.
Yes, that's exactly why scn is so pernicious and toxic. If it works it's Hubbard's wonderful Tek, if not, it's all your fault, and that is all part of the tangled web of lies and misdirection that ensnares you when you drink the kool-aid.Strati, You well know that when someone reports that "the process didn't work" one must instantly go on the attack and find out what they did wrong. 1) taken the great intelligenge of the great spirit who created things (in the event such great spirit does exist)
Where did you take that his creations are in need of ''spiritual development'' Are they incomplete ??? what needs to be developed ???
2) Where did you take that human beings need practitioners (of any bullshit peddler fill the blank) to attain ''self transcendance''
and expresss our higher self.....3 feet behing the ego mind..that's it! Self transcending can be attained in being totally in pt..when we eat, when we love, when we make love, when we sit, when we bathe..when we caress kids...
Out of the ego mind..is our true nature.
Last, do you really believe, in the even there is a God..that after all this complex creation ( that is boyond our understanding ) has forgot to instill the ability to be the true self and left his creation unfinished in a way that thousands of years later..his superb creatures would need a lie detector to be their true nature and self transcend...
If he did that..He is not fair..since plants and animals are not said to need this lie detector....![]()

That's not to say that Dianetics itself didn't have some use at the time, though R3R was and still is a grueling procedure. It's outdated now and there are much safer, less painful and more effective techniques. Dianetics is, after all, 79 years old and based on a lot of false information and a limited knowledge of the brain.
Brody quit Scientology though. "Brodie eventually grew disenchanted with the religion after some friends were harassed or expelled following a power struggle with the organization’s leadership. “There were many in the church I felt were treated unfairly,” he told the Los Angeles Times when explaining why he ceased to support Scientology." http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/07/12/stars-who-quit-scientology/slide/john-brodie/
CP, you probably don't know how hypnosis works or exactly what it is. It requires repetition and imaginary visualization led by the practitioner.Hypnosis plays no part in the proper conduct of auditing and is expressly forbidden in SOS. I have NEVER used hypnosis and I trust Phil Spickler never did either.
As to Stevie B., the little I know of the guy he looks like he could have played the lead to a sequel to "Ben Hur" titled "Dun Hym"
