Not content with wrecking the local orgs' FPs for the New Year event, they now have to pay for two days of booking Kodak Hall. That can't be cheap. "Key Management Speakers" can mean any execs still on post.

I suppose the idea is that public can't say they have other plans for all three days. But who knows? I'm just speculating. I can't see that they will pack that hall. Leb Hall would have been a lot cheaper.

Speaking of stats, I just got a call from an SO staffer at Big Blue and I told him that the promo that I receive from various orgs has doubled or tripled in the past few weeks. I asked him if that means that the orgs are in a condition of Emergency. I was totally expecting him to skirt the issue or to avoid it altogether. But instead, he said "Yes!" My jaw almost hit the floor. I was not expecting such honesty.

There has been an increasing push on the local OT Committees to shore up numbers, make their Orgs more able, upstat and productive. So it's not your fault your Org is failing. It's not Scientology's fault it's failing - it's the OTC. There is also some bullshit in there about OT-IX and OT-X as well.

Did you tell him the real condition was much lower than that?

I don't think the emergency formula is going to do much except get more of their fence sitters and non partricipants still in their CF even more pissed off.

To the public left in, this means nothing, absolutely nothing but another high pressure reg cycle and that's why 90% of the ones who have been around for much of any time are no where to be seen at events like this.
They're broke, beat-up and most can hardly keep the debt load they're carrying above water.
There's just so much "giving" a person can do and then it's not there.
This event will be an abysmal failure.
Unless they hire some extras, you'll be able to shoot a 30.06 in any direction and not hit a soul.
But for those who do want to give it a "shot", I have a suggestion as to who to point the working end of it at.

Glib & 3 others protested at the Hollywood/Highland complex today where the OT New Years event was being held. It was very poorly attended considering how much they had to have spent to rent two large ballrooms - one for the reception, and one for the event itself.

Glib said it best from this post on WWP:

"Four of us showed up at the Kodak hall at about 1:30. Saw Patty and some IAS dudes. Not much going on at all. Only saw a very small number of public.

So we moved on to HGB. Smurf had a cut on his ear, and he was mopping the blood with a napkin. It was still bleeding at HGB, and Andy said they could actually see it from their OSA cameras.

We asked for a bandaid, and Andy asked if we would leave if he brought a bandaid. We said yes.

Another 15 minutes goes by, and Lissa Uvizel (sp?) came out with gauze and tape. She very sweetly taped his ear. Is was actually pretty adorable."

15 minutes. 5 minutes at the outside to find the first aid stuff and get down in the elevator and walk to the back door. 10 minutes to get the CSW approved.

Lissa's maiden name is is Elisabeth Dawn Hemphill. Some old-timers here might remember her parents Ray & Cathy Hemphill who hailed from Albuquergue, New Mexico. Lissa is the manager of the LRH Gallery at the HGB. Her husband Martin, I heard, routed out in Clearwater and returned to his home in the Czech Republic. (I don't know if Lissa was referring to him when she said she was married, or she has since remarried).

Chuck Beatty knew her father. A source told me her mother had a psychotic break and is no longer in the church. She has a brother, Jason Hemphill, who is on staff in Clearwater, and a sister, Amy, who lives in Iowa (don't know her status with the church).

Lissa, you might recall, was the "victim" of the harassment from Angry Gay Pope that led to a 3-year TRO being placed against him by a LA judge forbidding him from coming within 50 yards of the HGB & Bronson Apartments (across from the Celebrity Center).
