Scientology critic adds volume to inquiry call
NICK O'MALLEY INVESTIGATIONS
January 23, 2010
A LEADING critic of Scientology is to travel to Australia to support Senator Nick Xenophon's campaign for an inquiry into the tax-exempt status of the church.

Gerry Armstrong was an ardent believer in the church and its founder, the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard, until he began researching an authorised biography of his hero in 1980...

Trouble in the house of Hubbard
NICK O'MALLEY
January 23, 2010
As pressure builds for a government inquiry into the Church of Scientology, Nick O'Malley investigates the group's increasingly troubled operations.

It should have been one of Scientology's greatest moments. One of Tom Cruise's, too. But the day he accepted Scientology's greatest honour, the Freedom Medal of Valour (for Achievement in the Field of Excellence), Cruise might just have crippled the church...

'We are more than just this body and this life'
JACQUELINE MALEY
January 23, 2010
YOU can talk to Scientologists for a long time without hearing them mention God.

Unlike other religions, Scientology posits no clearly identifiable supernatural deity, although if questioned on God, followers say they believe man is a spiritual being and that a higher power exists...

Nice to see - well-structured truth about the cult.

I noted with interest that Wendy Honnor has spent "around $10,000" on training and "$50,000" on donos.

Doesn't really compare to Feral's $1.1 million now does it?

Well that’s why she has dismissed mere money as being irrelevant and bangs on about other things. She knows that she can never compete with those who gave so much.

And, since the CoS is focussing so much on the financial side now, unless she ups her donation level, she will probably find herself getting sidelined in the near future.

In the 3rd story it said Wendy worked full time for the church, has she recently signed a staff contract?

She hadn't when I left in September. She was offering Book 1 auditing and intro type services at that time, as well as, she claims, saving several people from committing suicide. She gave a breifing at Sydney Class V org where she stated that all suicides were an attempt to blow from life because of overts, I don't know if this what she actually tells her clients but when she made that statement one of the kids she had tried to help was in the room and still had/has suicidal tendencies. It seems to me that would be eval/inval and make the poor kid feel worse, maybe she didn't care since she failed in helping her in the first place.

Three articles here today, but the first of more to come. :)

It's now toward the end of January, and Oz the country is getting back to work after the summer break. Parliament sits again in a couple of weeks, so things (which the Pollies will find hard to ignore), are being lined up to get Scn back in the news before the vote on the Senate Inquiry - It's now looking like late Feb, early March.

That's because she has had little or no auditing, she is/was an illiegal PC due to having been given psych drugs when younger.

Thanks, Carmel.

It's great news that Gerry Armstrong is coming here. More all nighters for OSA. :D
