This was beyond cute. I can see these guys competing for the girl in real life. :eyeroll:

The ED of the Winter Park mission in my neighborhood used to be a blackjack dealer at the Sands Hotel in Vegas where the Rat Pack performed. I enjoy watching my Tivo copy of their biography. They absolutely were so relaxed and natural together. Like fish in water.

I hope nothing was taken personally back there. I've been reading the banter between Mark and those :bleh: soft porn guys....going thru different threads (Love sucks) (Lakey/Edey)....and Roger's reply to Mark when he chimed in to match the ongoing tone level of posts on the second dynamic. etc. :dance: A subject I'm flatlining on___so, uh, I'll just shut up

we all contribute to the mix. I especially like it when someone off my radar (as regards this thread) such as Carmel or Nozeno or Commander Birdsong posts a reply.

I think it's wonderful that people across the world put their 2 cents in, BB and Leon are far far away.

It's a safe space to let our minds and memories wander.

One night it was the Boss, tonight it was swingin', it's been country and western, pin ups, dance, R & B, rock n roll. We are an eclectic group.

It's plenty obvious that we're having fun

as John and Paul said, "fun is the one thing money can't buy" (She's Leaving Home)

what I enjoy is my freedom to post something I like, for instance: The Goodtime Washboard Three's "Oakland" and not have it invalidated, but have a reply which adds to the mix.

and back to the word, "flirting" I think that is the essence of flirting.

making the other person at home and to feel comfortable in their own skin, bringing something that advances the mix to the table. not just "fine, I got that." but adding contributing, not hammering or trying to upstage.

I love the Disney art in Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, Pinocchio, etc. Enthralled from the get go!!! When Pixar started coming out with their films I just swooned. Things like Polar Express (not theirs) just draw the admiration straight out of me.
I discovered back in 1983 while Julie Mayo was auditing me that I really had a desire to be an animator for Disney. I was thinking about moving to California to go to Cal Arts. But things were different then with Apple not yet having developed all its goodies. Many graphic artists like my brother ended up doing piece work for ads or doing storyboards in a cubicle. I had a dying pet and got back on a plane after being there for months. Now, if I'd a stayed and followed the group to Palo Alto and Menlo Park, I would've had Pixar in my back yard just taking off. I regret that I left there.
I did not take up the art anyway.... and really had no one to mentor me. I used to study the team of old men that Walt Disney had drawing for him. I studied the way they did multi planing with their cameras and used paintings layered on glass for the backgrounds. When you go into Epcot via the main route, there is a store just over to the right when you get in a ways that has wonderful paintings and sculptures from the early days. I repetitively spent hours in there over the years.:D Its not Disney itself but the art of telling a story with pictures. I'm always flashing pictures. :yes:

Wow, South Pacific, H.M.S. Pinafore....this takes me back to 9 years old....that's when I first heard both of these. I learned to swim in our new pool in the back yard to South Pacific and I was in H.M.S. Pinafore at school for our year end production in the same year.

And to see that there is a fad amongst dogs surfboarding. That is so cool.

I love this kind of entertainment. :thumbsup:

My first experience with the Pinafore was on black and white TV when I was little. very little. I was enthralled. I've always loved the Pinafore, have seen it many times, have the songs on i tunes. It is a part of me.

I think my first TV memories were Dinah Shore, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and the Pinafore

I was in this movie, but I can't remember what part or what I did. I just remember there were a lot of desks and I was in the secretarial pool. I've never seen the movie all the way through to see myself in it. I only know I was in it because I get a residual for $10.00 once a year when it's shown or sometimes its every other year, so I've been getting these residuals for something like 43 years now. It's been a long running movie. :p

I came across live film footage of Mark Twain, taken in 1909 by none other than Thomas Edison. Also shown are two of Twain's daughters. Its pretty amazing that this exists. One dauther, Clara, lived until 1962.

I was preparing to commit to "My Story" when Emma announced ESMB would be no more unless someone else were to take it over. While my story is nothing spectacular I do think I can make it interesting. Yet, this announcement really took the wind out of my sails even though I can appreciate Emma's position on it.

Is there any word on the continuation of ESMB? It would be a shame to let it disappear.
