The Forgiveness Thread

I have a hard time forgiving anyone in Scientology so long as people are still being defrauded, lied to, kidnapped and held against their will.

I would think that forgiveness is a luxury that can not be afforded while the acts that require forgiveness are still going on.

Cary Goulston is no longer my senior. I know that it was his personal failings that caused him to lose himself and his judgment in the teachings of L Ron Hubbard.

Also, I don't think that Cary is running an RPF in his basement.

Thus I can forgive him.

Mike and Marty still have some kind of Mission Op going where they keep most of the crimes for which they are aware hidden. And they continue to control the attention of their followers away from contrary information that keeps them enslaved. With Marty and Mike, it is still going on to too much of a degree.

So I have a harder time forgiving them.

L Ron Hubbard, even though he is dead, is the source of all this, and is still selling books and tapes and his words that set up the whole abusive thing.

Yet he is dead.

So he is for some reason the hardest of all to forgive, and yet I know he is the one I need to forgive the most.

Maybe when Davey goes to jail, and when all the RPFers are freed and the Church loses its capability to abuse anyone ever again, I can forgive L Ron Hubbard.

Maybe.

We'll see.

Alanzo. Nothin' personal, but I'm really tired of that gold faced avatar you're wearing. It's really creeping me out. Jus' sayin'

I can't really find anything there to much disagree with.

And, while I personally have little attention and concern about forgiving anybody about anything, I do understand you, and this, what you said Alanzo, makes total sense to me. I can easily see a person can view things in that way.

People in the Church, and those recently in and now out, are or have recently perpetrated the Hubbardian charade that has so many horrible consequences to so many people. To me THEY (current Scientologists and recently out Scientologists) need to grasp THAT more than I need to forgive them.

And, Marty and Mike? Yes, FAR too much nastiness committed against others over far too long a time when they were in the Church, with far too much of that still quite hidden and somehow apparently justified in their over-indoctrinated tight little minds.

I send kind thoughts to all who have hurt me :rose:
resentments tie us to our abusers stronger than any rope made:omg:

You get what you give.....the universe is reciprocal:yes:

Shed light on the abuse and support the survivors.....
(this ain't my first cult:duh:)

If it frightens a small child....is it a good thing?? Think about it:wink2:

Looks rich and classic to me!

Actually, I LOVE that gold Buddha or Bodhisattva avatar. I may steal it when Al gets tired of it. Do sort of miss the cute little Armadillo in his green bucket, though. Bring him back for a visit sometime in the future, will ya please? :prettyplease:

Thanks!

He at one time wore a rather handsome photo of a young Allen who hadn't yet grown up to be Alanzo. That's my favorite.

Forgive:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/forgive

to give up resentment of or claim to *requital for <forgive an insult>
b : to grant relief from payment of <forgive a debt>
2 : to cease to feel resentment against (an offender) : pardon <forgive one's enemies>

*requital:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/requital

something given in return, compensation, or retaliation
2 : the act or action of requiting : the state of being requited

Examples of REQUITAL

<the judge ordered the landlord to pay his former tenants $100,000 each as requital for goods lost or damaged in the apartment fire>
<the electrician's requital for the used car was in the form of work on the dealer's house>
........................................................................................................

:hmm:

Well, I've only a scant few people to work on forgiving......I sincerely liked most of the people I worked with while in scn.....(I only hope some of them...one day when they walk away, can forgive me though!?)

I'm gonna think about all this....
