Maybe it's a hold-over from the cult.

But I simply do not want anyone else telling me who I can talk to, or how I can talk to them. I do not want anyone to even comment with little snide remarks on who my friends are, or who they should be - who has the power to cut that line because I am in a space that they "own" and I don't.

And so in that sense, being on a message board where anyone is trying to impose their sense of what I should say, or to whom, is something that I choose to oppose, and to lampoon, and to run "crusades" against - whenever the fuck I want.

Maybe that means message boards are not for me. Maybe the era of the message board is over. Just like the era of Usenet came and went.

But I simply am not going to have anyone regulating my communication or my relationships in any way ever again.

Having discussions about "how we are supposed to discuss on this discussion board" is not unlike "having talks about having sex instead of having sex".

It just doesn't do it for me. :confused2:

And of course, on this discussion board, endlessly introducing posts that "discuss how we are discussing" has NOTHING to do with any topic critical of some aspect of Scientology. It acts as a distraction to legitimate and valid criticisms.

Who or what might want to do that?

I'm taking on all comers. It's the last burst of free speech on ESMB before the PTS Moral Majority takes over to make the board "safe" for the "newly outs".

We're in the last half of the third act, and I'm holding a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a six-shooter in the other - waiving it all around, drunk and raving. My shirt is untucked, I haven't shaved in days, and I'm at the end of my rope.

The saloons and the shops are emptying and the street is lined with spectators. Some of them are screaming for "law and order", shaking their fists and yelling for blood.

Will the Sheriff come out and shoot me down?

Will the snipers for the Moral Majority get up on the roofs, waiting for their signal from the sheriff?
