I love the idea of seniors athletics championships. Too many people think, 'what's the point, I'm not going to be admired for my physical prowess any more!' And this reminded me of the chuckle I got from Roger's Old Fart thread.

Capetown

Hats -

I really enjoyed the aerial views of Capetown. The city seems very well laid out and quite beautiful. The topography seems not unlike that of Southen California, no?

One of my Daughters spends her vacations in "zee bad neighborhoods" of Capetown as a volunteer worker in the nursery of an Orphanage for children with aids. For her Grad School internship this fall, she's going to Johannesburg.

Kid's got real Moxie and a big, big Heart.

Hey Hats, you're a treasure.

I went to to Gadwin here: http://www.gadwin.com/download/, and found some yummy stuff.

You might like to upgrade from your old 2.5 :D

They also have this later version: Gadwin PrintScreen 4.5 freeware.

We'll see if it works with FireFox . . .what I'm reading indicates it relates to IE in particular.

Rog

Hey Rog, I've been using Gadwin Print Screen 2.5 for a number of years, its simple and free small appy for your PC, so at pretty much any time I just hit my 'printscreen' button, small box comes up and asks for the res you want and whether to proceed, and voila!
Hope that helps

Leon, looks like yu didn't use
tags. (easiest to c/p into little square mountain box above^^)

Yes, Capetown is a lovely city.

I was there in June-July 1976 during a monster winter storm. That year a cape capacity tanker blew aground on Cape Point (Suez was closed and the oil tankers from the Saudi oil fields had to go around the cape to get to Europe, and special tankers were built for it).

I enjoyed my time in S.A. I was there for 6 weeks on business and did all the major cities. Durban is lovely also. I tried some surfing there :nervous: and got the shock of finding out how "old" and out of condition I'd become having lived in England too long

At the time S.A was steam train lovers heaven. All the locomotives were still the real deal of coal burning mega steamers. This due to the embargo against Apartheid and shortage of diesel. Don't know if it is still the case.

Thanks to all for the help and advice in getting me to learn something new. And also for all of the good comments made.

Looking them all over I saw at once that the darling of my life deserved a better pic than the one on the ski field that I first posted, so here she is. Her name is Candy and I have no words to express all my feelings for her.

That is one very nice looking person, Leon. And I can see you must be doing right good there to keep that smile on her lively face

Yes, but the sharks off shore are BIGGER. I can't believe Roger went surfing out there with the great whites! The rumors about those sharks are scarey.

There are great whites off the coast of california also.

As to rumors being scary, that what rumors are, reports of peoples fears. Humans scare each other & themselves then act out irrationally from their self-created fear. Yes, sharks are predators and potentially dangerous, but if you want to be really scared, hang out with humans.
