Hats' comments on the ser fac were right on target and that prompted my recent post on same. It's one of my favorite subjects.

Way to go Hats!

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks again. And thank YOU for posing an example. I hated the bullshit "All horses sleep in beds" story. I mean, come on, give some real life examples everybody. Its a crime to be given training on level IV and never get to be shown real life case history examples. Kinda like getting a surgeon who only ever operated on a synthetic dummy.

I think a good example of a ser fac would be that which the person uses to make himself feel he is winning or is in the winning valence in a social situation too. Thinness, good complexion, breeding, money, education, knowledge of languages, never having smoked or taken drink...

I just finished watching Goodfellas. In the ending scene Henry Hill is emerging from a typical suburban home to retrieve his boring newspaper. He is describing how all the good stuff in life is now behind him. The wiseguys and the exciting life that he had lived are now things of his glorious bygone days. Looking into the camera addressing the viewer he complains about having ordered spaghetti (he loved to cook Italian food) and having instead received egg noodles with ketchup. :grouch: His attitude is that the straight life is for suckers. He had had it ALL. Now he is just some schmo in the witness protection program hiding out in dullsville. Now THATS a ser fac. The idea that its better to be a crook. Being a crook is the way to go. :D These guys got it all figured out. :happydance: The straight life is for patsys. :eyeroll:

Anyhow this is one I thought about as the film had rolled its credits immediately before logging onto ESMB.

Or how about the wife who is a tart and wears her dresses in a revealing way and always has her breasts overexposed. Her husband might be contemplating leaving her because she is unfaithful. But on her part she is sure that the moment she looks boring sexually he will be off with someone else because that's what ALL men think is important.... being HOT...regardless or what they SAY. :coolwink:. In her mind she may back it up with all the times someone beat her out of something because they were faster and sluttier. :whistling:

In each case the person is actually ending up having far less in life.....In actuality they believe that their behavior shows cleverness and mandates they will have far more than the average Joe in the end.

I dug up some tapes. I could not find Leon's description in the ones I listened to. His most excellent citing of the fact that service facs sit right on top of the goal chain being acted on in this life.
That which the individual uses it to push his personal agenda forward or further his cause and purpose by extracting admiration and acceptance for his offering being presented to the universe. I was totally blown away by that. ( at least that's what I thought he said. ) Leon, could you give a reference. Is it a personal insight of yours?

Good point -

Out of curiosity Gary, did you actually ask these people if they wanted their names mentioned in this context on the internet, or did you just barge in and do it?

You should never assume that personal information is 'okay to print' simply based on your knowledge of their maintaining an internet or other public presence. Many people prefer to keep their personal actions & associations private revealing only what THEY intend to reveal about themselves on public fora.

Mark A. Baker

Good point, I did not ask. With Aida, I am pretty sure its okay since she has videos out interviewing many of the guests who come to her parties as well as extensive photographs on facebook, tagging herself and most of her guests. With Dave, I should have checked and with Karen as well. I did talk with Aida, one on one at the party and we talked a lot about ESMB. She is reading Sharone's thread regarding what Candy says about others and reading and posting on this thread. I will edit down my earlier post.

Good point, I did not ask. ...

The point is not that it is 'likely okay' in this instance, the point is you should always get permission first. Peoples families, friendships, & business interests can depend on it. Never assume that because you meet someone at a social function and they are friendly & sociable to you at the time it therefore follows anything you may have heard can be safely repeated, either on the internet or elsewhere.

Nice comments and posts on this serfac subject, Hats, Ted, Leon, et al.

Reminds me of the early days when this "safe solutions" version of serfac tech was first released in '63.

As has been noted, the serfac, in actuality, is placed there as a substitute for self . . . a substitute for your own spiritual presence and act of perceiving. It is also superimposed on the environment and others, and thus it alters your perception of the truth of what is.

I remember in those "fun days" of '63 when the wags were discussing the tech (we were allowed to, indeed expected to, discuss the tech in those days!) we all tended to come to the conclusion that being a body was one of the biggest serfacs of all! :D  You know, the spiritual Being has superimposed on self the solution that it is not spiritual, but a body!:duh:

Hell, the more outlandish and courageous amongst us even got to seeing our dependence on the physical universe (note the word dependence) as a serfac! :D

That piece I posted containing Alan's "Attaining Presence Process" is quite brilliant . . . you'll note the subtly of the R/D . . . it asks for the attitude you are using/employng in order to be present :p

Attitudes are also serfacs, even if of a lighter variety. Attitudes are what you view the world around you through and with. And they markedly prejudice what you perceive and, unfortunately, distort what is perceived when they are present and used.

As Ted rightly points out . . . this is a vastly underused, not properly appreciated piece of tech.

From personal experience, I can tell you that advancing and upgrading one's personal state of Being and awareness very much depends on continuing to pick and and eliminating the automaticity of these "serfac"-type computations, thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and precepts that one is unwittingly using to perceive, confront or handle life with.

This has always been a weak point for me. For some reason, I tend to blab all that is told to me. I have been working on cutting back on this for over a year now and it is better than it was at that time but I still need much work in this area. Thanks again for reminding me.

In this lifetime, how does blabbing (?) make you right? run your item to a flat point of no more answers.

In this lifetime, how does blabbing (?) make others wrong? run your item to a flat point of no more answers. Run one question until you run out of answers then go to the other question. Back and forth. End off on an EP. If blabbing (or whatever your item is) is the result of service computation it will tumble out.

Thanks for the tip Ted. I will run that process on myself and let you and the board know what happened.

For many people, showing off that one is "in with the in crowd" could be the major driving force behind blabbing but for me, I don't think there is any connection. I loved to "tell all" as far back as I can remember, even when I did not know people in the "in crowd". It seems to be a compulsion with me that I have to let loose and retell everything that comes my way. I have some ideas why I have a compulsion to do this but they obviously aren't the right items because voicing them does not handle the area for me, not even partially.

I have something going on where I always want to be able to retrace my steps and get back to an earlier location or set of circumstances. I always wanted to be able to backtrack and get out of this Universe if things went wrong here. This blabbing compulsion and impulse may be related to that goal which I set up near the beginning of the track. There seems to be a lot of elaborate machinery that I set up for myself which I am unwilling to let go of. It'll be interesting to see if this machinery will break down when I run those processes on myself. Thanks again for the process and those 2 commands.

Blabbing may or may not be your item. Only you can say for certain.

It does make for a questionable, unreliable friendship because a person cannot be trusted to keep certain things private. Imagine an auditor with that affliction. :omg: It could also make for a good patsy. You feed him some information you want the enemy to know then turn him loose. He'll pass it on believing he's telling the truth, privy to some special info.

If you decide to work this over do not neglect the other two brackets.

In this lifetime, how would blabbing (assuming this is your item) aid your survival? ... hinder the survival of others? To an EP

Then,

In this lifetime, how would blabbing help you escape domination? ... help you to dominate others?

Lakey, you are a pretty all right guy, and I like the new you. If I could make any suggestion that would be of social value I would say make yourself a "safe terminal." Be someone worthy of trust when you are out and about learning about others who may not wish to have their lives and activities publicly broadcast.

Thanks so much Ted for this advice. Both you and Mark Baker have offered similar advice which is very sound. I really appreciate the advice and will act upon it. It is total pleasure to receive information of the type you and Mark are giving me.

I really do have some major case on the blabbing button. For many people, receiving advice such as you and Mark are giving would be enough to cause the blabbing to stop. For me, this sound advice goes against my natural inclination which is to relay all information post haste. It is a compulsion and some of its power must be diffused for me to get control of it. Using will power alone, I've reduced it a bit, though not enough to be acceptable. I am going to have to spot something major on my case before a large change will occur.

I am looking forward to hearing your results.
As Ted said in earlier post, one can never presume to know what another's computations are. We may see them acted out on us and may get a case approximation.
It can be very insulting when someone presumes to know what mental paradigm you are seeing through or acting on. However, if we spot if ourselves, and it is our own revelation, everything changes.

We project roles on others to impress on them the identities we need to draw from transactionally in order to serve the mental paradigm or goal that we are making right. Our protagonist in our script must come out honorable.

I have seen this with a cute young immigrant from India who needed to act the part that all more powerful identities would be trying to take advantage of her vulnerability in her new environment and try to scam her. I Think we can sometimes shove pieces of our lifeforce into another to get them to offend us so we can feel righteously 'wronged'.

That is a deep well because all valences and conditions are a safe solution.

The idea that a serfac is something the person is placing into his environment and projecting onto other players seems more to today's standards. A person is involved with other players. This is a social phenomena. Perhaps we are looking for protection from being counter created or denied admiration for our creations. We are looking for our allies. We are looking for the one upmanship that makes our position in the game secure. This thing seems to go round the ideas of justification for attacking others and methods of circumventing attacks.
It's still a social mechanism. You won't find an injured manatee trying to make a boat motor wrong.

I am about making the reptilians wrong. In order to do that I have to maintain the guise that I am encapsulated in an illusion kept in restimulation by a perpetual .....
Geezuz......Ted was right. Once you begin to spew ....and it is your right item....you can't help but.. :D

Hi Hats: On the first leg, "how blabbing makes me right", I got a lot of action. I got some reaction in the area of not wanting to have any withholds. The computation was that I was taken down for withholding in the recent past so I made up my mind not to withhold anything. Going deeper, I ran into a desire to as-is things as they came in so as not to stack up mass and require a storage area in the mind for masses. I computed that if I exactly duplicated incomming communication as it came in to me, I would keep as-ising it. I wanted to do this to avoid having to figure out how to store these masses and tag them in my mind. There was a desire to "travel light" as a thetan without a lot of baggage to carry around. After that, I had no more to say so I went on to the next command.

"How does blabbing make others wrong?"
I saw that I do not want to make anyone wrong, ever! If I look at making another wrong, large masses come in on me. This led me to see that I blab, primarily for my own benefit as described above. I have convinced myself that I have no intention to hurt anyone or make them wrong. Therefore, if anyone feels they have been made wrong by my actions, then it is their problem and not mine. They are too thin skinned or sensitive.

That is probably my ser fac! I've got myself convinced that I never want to make another wrong or hurt them in any way so if they are upset that I blabbed about them, then it is not my fault. Their upset is of their own doing.

OKAY - I GOT THE EXACT WORDING OF THIS SER FAC,
:confused2: "WHY ARE THEY UPSET WITH ME, I MEANT THEM NO HARM:confused2:

YIKES !! I feel real good about finding that one. I'll rest and enjoy my win and then take up the other flows tomorrow

I always liked it that info rolled out of you like gumballs. I'm the same way, trying to avoid feeling I have withholds.

I think when a person has been harshly punished for something they go about trying to demonstrate that they could not possibly be accused of THAT again. That phenomena had cost me a lot.
Like if you were ever punished for stealing and that was an injustice, you could thereafter wear only clothing which had no pockets. Or if you had a life where you got burned for adultery you could exhibit being a eunuch now. Or if you were Horribly made wrong for being a spy or a double agent, you could refuse to listen or read any news about your country's adversaries, keeping ignorant.

I can always revise an almost right item if it doesn't seem correct.

I know where I used to work people got fired all the time out of jealousy. Your paychecks were never a secret, you had to sign in this huge log book where everyone could see everyone else's earnings. The break down was in cash tips declared, charge card tips, room charges signed etc. One of the main excuses used to dump someone was to say there was a customer upset about the automatic gratuities you included when you presented the bill. The worse the waiter, the more entitled he felt to take his cut and not trust the customer to be gracious all on his own. I passed on thousands of dollars rather than pay the piper for the bypassed charge building up. It saved my ass many times. It cost me quite good paychecks that others got. But SUCH was my absolute need to be INNOCENT when the axe came down periodically and the out of state owners brought down customer service scores. I would rather have been regarded as a DB than to cause anyone to become jealous of me. There was always too much of a sting to it. I ended up having the longest tenure.

I found this was one area where it was profitable to pick up other teammates' charge too. I found in furthering my basic purposes in the world I enlisted lots of help. I've collections of identities stored to go into action in just the right scenarios. I can get real busy controlling the whole scene and all of its facets. All the parts role playing, lightly blanketing whomever, whatever.

Hats, I love your 2nd paragraph!! Especially this clause: "I think when a person has been harshly punished for something they go about trying to demonstrate that they could not possibly be accused of THAT again." Wearing a shirt without pockets to eliminate yourself from being a suspect to shop lifting is very clever.

Males and females both seem to demonstrate various things to avoid being accused, when they are interested in meeting someone of the opposite sex. Perhaps a man or a woman will move a ring from one finger to another so that he/she can not be accused of being married or something such as that.

Sometimes a woman who doesn't need glasses will wear glasses with no prescription just to appear more studious and not be suspected of being lonely and on the rebound from a recent breakup.

The following statement is also very noteworthy, "I've collections of identities stored to go into action in just the right scenarios. I can get real busy controlling the whole scene and all of its facets. All the parts role playing, lightly blanketing whomever, whatever"

That is quite a skill or talent which you have there. It must be fun in a bizarre way to put that ability of yours into action. If someone knew you and knew what you were doing, it would be a lot of fun to watch. Better yet, it would be even more fun if your were doing it to someone and that person was "on to you" able to perceive what you were doing. The other person could work a similar thing on you and then all hell might break lose. What a game that would be!!
