I am very mindful of this!

Yes, it's best to give one's own view and opinion . . . not to try and "explain" or restate what another's view or opinion is "in your view" . . . . :duh: It gets very spinny when that last thing is attempted :melodramatic:

And it's easy to piss friends off by trying to say what they are saying/thinking when it is not what they're saying/thinking.

It comes under the heading of: (mis)evaluation, wrong item, wrong indication, and even invalidation of the truth of the earlier statement.

R

Roger, I am really mindful of your well intended admonition to me. After Face complained, I did find a clause where I attributed something to him which he did not really say. I immediately apologized and rewrote the clause as my own statement and posted it on the Shooting Stars thread with a link to my apology posted on this thread.

Yes, your last paragraph says it all, "evaluation, wrong item, etc.". I really try hard to avoid doing this to posters. I assure you that it was not done intentionally.

I misinterpreted something in his recent post and either never got or no longer remembered things on this topic which he has said repeatedly in earlier posts. That is the how and why of my faux pas. I am really going to make sure something like this does not happen again.

Why is one's past life always referred to as one's case?

Is everything that happened before right now one's case, just because it's a past memory?

On this discussion regarding "pleasure moments" and whether or not case is or is not associated with them :p

The correct answer is: SOMETIMES

The reason I say this is, ever hear of anyone who is/has been addicted to pleasure?

Where this is the case, I can assure you the individual is continuously building up big time charge. The only problem is . . . or maybe it is the real problem . . . the addiction is possibly also the acting out of a "serfac."

And the real problem with serfacs is that they leave one feeling "this is the way things should be." That is, as a safe solution, the Being thinks the scenario created by the serfac is a correct and natural condition.

Rog

I'd say there's quite a few people out there that are addicted to pleasure. Ever notice all those fat people who just love to eat food that's bad for them and can't quit to save their life? Take a look at Kirsty Alley. And what about the pedophiles? People who love to gamble and keep themselves broke. People who love to drink or use drugs, for the pleasure it brings them. People who love to gossip and stir up trouble. People who get pleasure out of abusing and torturing others. There's a lot of contra survival pleasure on this planet - serfac or not...wierd as it is, they enjoy it.

Well, I don't know about Candy!

Yep, for sure relaying info. Still.

I don't like my slavic or Black forest track. I also have a lot of stolen banks. I'm a shameless thief.

And Gary, maybe you are hanging around more females because you are longing to be appreciated and admired rather than competed against. We all get to a point where we just want to be loved.

As Tonto said to the Lone Ranger, "What do you mean, 'we', white man?" (who is your "we" above?) As you know the joke, The Lone Ranger first says to Tonto, ("Tonto, we are surrounded by Indians")

I've got a short Slavic background, being a Czech boy living in the Sudetenland and being killed at the age of 13 in 1938 by Nazi troopers when my Dad cussed out a Nazi officer and made fun of Hitler at a crossing when the officer asked my Dad for his papers. Ironically, my Dad had gone to all the trouble of procuring the necessary legal papers to move to Austria but instead of producing them he had to insult the Germans and belittle Hitler. Four of us were shot down in cold blood at a crossing adjacent to the railroad tracks, my Mom, Dad, Sister and me.

I can see you in the Black Forest. What was not to like there? Isn't it a beautiful place with lots of elves and spirits runing free. The Germans there are known for their simple and friendly manner, being woodsmen, craftsmen and all. They are the antithesis of the strict and arrogant Prussians.

You can steal my "bank" if you want. I get into a lot of trouble posting, because of my "bank". Everybody loves your posting. You're more than welcome to steal my bank. Just make sure that you do not replace it with someone else's.

On hanging around with and being admired by women, I have found some truth in that. However, talk about being competitive, Candy is a very competitve person. She was playing chess with her landlord, the New Zealander, and was only wining about 1 out of 3. She was annoyed and decided to beat him and won 12 games in a row from him. He then gave up and refused to play her anymore.

Let's give it a try!

Just as an interesting little subthought on this --

People get suicidal and/or depressed from big change - BOTH good and bad. A life-changing event like falling into a heap of money can actually become the trigger for depression and not uncommonly either - no kidding! :duh: :confused2:

I'd like to volunteer for a study of this topic. Let me win the lottery and then observe how I behave. I guarantee you that I won't be depressed!

Actually, from my recall Laky is substantially correct. During the time I was in casual discussion of past lives & other details associated with case or auditing was strongly discouraged. Clears & OTs could get away with such things in private discussions, especially if they were held away from an org or mission. Yet, even those private discussions could be problematic if a knowledge report was filed about them, or they were seen as affecting others in some fashion.

I left in the early '80s and it wouldn't surprise me if this 'practical guidance' developed into something more rigid along with everything else. Your argument is rather a strained one as you have publicly noted on numerous occasions that Hubbard did many things which were forbidden to others.

Mark A. Baker

Yep, Hubbard created Scientology but never practiced Scientology himself. Virtually every policy that he wrote for others, he never practiced himself.

Sweetness,

My little post wasn't directed at you particularly, and certainly no reproof.

It was written simply because of recent traffic on ESMB, it so happens that the you and Face thing has been a recent example. I too have been a "target" of this kind of misquoting and misduplication (deliberate, I believe, in order to stir trouble) . . . so I wrote as a missive that might help others understand what goes on and how they can be affected by others screwing with their posts.

The firefights that break out on forums very often begin simply as a running out of control of this kind of misrepresenting of what people actually write.

We had an example on this thread in the last few days wherein what I wrote was misrepresented in order to do a destructive attack on me . . . . it was on the issue of my first colliding with the "victim-hood serfac" in Aden in 1965.

Grow up and stop hanging onto your little upsets.

You create your own firefights by making constant little sly digs ... say what you want to say (to me) or grow up and get over it.

Here's a little movie Bio of "I told you I was trouble."

Yeah, upfront slings and arrows as opposed to sneaky ones hidden in endless cultic make wrongy jargon and lectures, which most of us came here to get away from.

Whoa, "I told you I was Trouble". Well I do give you points for being direct and saying what is on your mind. I did some research on you and found the story of your youth was acutally made into a movie.

Here is a snip from your childhood story:

Youtube would not play that clip so here is another clip, I hope this one plays:

Yay, this one plays! Check out at 1:03 where as a young girl, "I Told you I was Trouble" exhibits her reaction when she gets angry. Also check out !:27.

It's okay, I deserved that!

Oh, well done Lakey, that should score you a few points with your latest guru.

You need to grow up as well.

Nothing personal, I just can't get over how much that Bad Seed girl resembles your Avatar. I did compliment you for communicating in a direct manner. Look at the bright side of my post, it was only made to be playful.

If you don't see it that way, then I deserve your rebuke. No problem.

Rog, seems to me that someone is attempting to try the old scientology tone of 1.1 as an art form in their posting style.

I could be wrong, but, it sure looks that way to me.

Why the Housing Market is Three Times Worse Than You Think
By Carla Fried, CBS MoneyWatch.com
Mar 31, 2011

Between the recent report that sales of new homes hit a record low in February and this week's news that 19 of the 20 largest metro areas tracked by the Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller home price index saw a price slump in January, it hasn't exactly been a stellar few weeks for the housing market. And yet another data dump tracking foreclosed and distressed homes that have yet to hit the markets - what's known as "shadow inventory" - suggests things are not likely to get a whole lot better for a long time.

Supply Sigh Economics

More robust economic growth, a pickup in job creation (and wage growth), and a renewed desire by banks to actually write mortgages are all central pieces of any housing rebound. Job growth last month was indeed stronger than in past months, and a new survey of CEOs finds them increasingly upbeat about hiring. But even if those green shoots emerge, it may take a whole lot longer to see any pickup in home values given the alarming backlog of homes currently on the market, as well as homes that may soon be for sale.

Sign of the times in some markets
In terms of homes for sale, we have three inventory tracks to keep an eye on:

* The official inventory: 3.5 million homes. The National Association of Realtors says the current inventory of existing homes that are listed for sale would take 8.6 months to work down at the current sales pace. In "normal" times, the inventory backlog is more in the vicinity of six months.

* The unofficial shadow inventory: 1.8 million homes. According to research firm CoreLogic, there's another 1.8 million homes sitting in shadow inventory. These are homes that don't yet show up in NAR's Multiple Listing Service as being for sale, but that are likely to hit the market at some point. They include homes that banks have already foreclosed on but have yet to put up for sale, homes that are somewhere in the foreclosure process, and homes in which owners are at least 90 days late on their mortgage payments. CoreLogic estimates that those 1.8 million homes represents an additional 9 months of potential supply given the pace of how bank-owned property and pending foreclosures make their way to market.

* The severely underwater inventory: 2 million. CoreLogic uses this category to refer to homeowners that are at least 50 percent underwater on their mortgages. Now there's nothing that says homeowners with negative equity will in fact walk away from their mortgages. But it's reasonable to presume that short of a quick turnaround in home values or a settlement between the state attorneys general and lenders that leads to substantial loan modifications, a significant chunk of these homes will end up on the market in the coming months or years.

Add it all up, and NAR's 8.6 month official backlog triples to about two years or so.

Distress Points

To get a sense of where your housing market stands, take a look at CoreLogic's comparison of each state's tally of mortgages that are at least 90 days late to its current sales rate. The states with the most distressed housing inventory are New Jersey, Illinois, Maryland, and Florida, while those with the least distressed inventory are North Dakota, Alaska, Wyoming, and Montana.

Of course, even state-level data doesn't capture what's going on in your local area. If you're looking to buy or sell, one important step at this juncture is to look beyond the official sales and inventory data, and try to get a sense of local shadow inventory. This is where a solid and straight-up real estate agent is going to be crucial. You don't want sugarcoating; you need an honest assessment of what's in your local pipeline.

The fact that your local market has a large shadow inventory doesn't necessarily mean more steep price declines. But if there is indeed a big backlog of shadow inventory, it's hard to make a case that home values will rebound any time soon given the large supply that needs to come to market and be absorbed.

If you're looking to buy, a high shadow inventory is seemingly an argument to take your time looking, but keep all the moving pieces of this in mind. For example, even if you don't have to worry about rising prices, what about mortgage rates? No one can predict where mortgage rates will be in six months or a year, but we do know that current rates are at historic lows. As for sellers, well, if you really want to sell and you find you are in an area with a lot of shadow inventory, waiting might not be in your best interests. Even if prices stabilize, working through that backlog could make it a while before prices start to climb again.
