Hmmmm..... I guess this means that Toady can't come up with any samples of where I used what he called the "Lakey method". Okay Toady, Have a nice day!
Lakey

All it means is it is not my role to pour through most of your old posts to point out to you what you might not remember you posted or how some of your posts have been responded to it.

Surely you are not requesting I do your mental homework work for you, are you ?

I'm having a nice day, and I do hope you are, too !

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

I've posted a few thousand words on ESMB re: my "Take" on "Admin 'Tech'" and the Org Board. We had an excellent Dialogue here on this Thread about all that around a year and a half ago.

My bottom line to all that is:

1. That there factually isn't anything "new" in the "Green Tech".

2. That the "Green Tech" only "works" with Slave/Indentured Servant Labor.

3. That the "Awareness Characteristic" feature of the Org Board assumes that those sequential line items are real and that sequence and construct is true and valid for all life, organizations and forms, at all times, in this Universe.

4. That El Ron could "boom the stats" whenever Hisself "got on the lines" because everyone dropped everything and frenetically worked on what would "make LRH happy" and not mad at them.

5. That the "stats" always "crashed' after Hisself "moved off the lines" because the "Green Tech" and the Org Board are forever fundamentally fatally flawed.

6. That the personal brilliance, insight, sacrifice, hard work, instinct and intuition of thousands of sincere, decent and well meaning individuals was usurped, stolen and maliciously, deviously...albeit brilliantly...hijacked, woefully and willfully bastardized and copy written as coming from and personal "property" of "Source".

Face :)

PS: I could write a few thousand more words but I think y'all "get my drift".

Thanks Face! As always, this is an excellent summation post of "Green on White". It pretty much says it all.

Just a side issue her about why I liked the awareness characteristics associated with each department on the Org board.

Reason #1 - I was in Treasury Division with 3 departments, Income, Disbursement and "RAM" (Records Assets and Materials). Our awareness characteristics were Energy, Adjustment and Body. My department, Disbursements had the "Adjustment" characteristic. The way I saw it was that Energy entered Treasury Division in the form of money. The Adjustment occurred when I wrote the checks and paid the bills, including payroll, rent and food allotment. My disbursement function adjusted the energy (money) into "body" which were our assetts and materials.

Reason #2 - I was also getting a lot of auditing and the characteristics could be continued to be run in sequence. Division 4 was the Tech Division and it's characteristics for it's 3 departments were Enlightenment, Understanding, and Orientation. Thus as a person paid money into Div 3, the person getting auditing moved to Div 4 where the "body" of his reactive mind went through Enlightenment, then Understanding and then Orientation. After that came the Qualifications Division #5 with the characteristics of Perception, Communication and Recognition.

When Bob Harvey from Flag was training the PAC area ESTO Officers in Training in 1971, he taught us this info and, call me a fool, but it made sense to me and I thought it was brilliant. I don't know where LRH got this data from. I still love that data.

Well, I'd like to thank those thousands of sincere, decent and well meaning individuals for their brilliance, insight, sacrifice, hard work, instinct and intuition which brought forth the jewels that did work, some of which helped me and others, who did managed to gain from all their collective efforts.

It's unfortunate that there was a pathological, lying pirate who took advantage of them.

I just hope that those discoveries that those well meaning individuals made, that were workable, and can help mankind, will survive into the future... and that maybe, someday, those hard working individuals might be recognized and honored for their contributions, which they rightfully deserve credit for.

Uhhhh Duh Ummm Actually Qual was/is Result Correction Ability. You may be mixing it up with HCO and in reverse!

Uhhhh Duh Ummm Actually Qual was/is Result Correction Ability. You may be mixing it up with HCO and in reverse!

Thanks for correcting me Leon! I no longer remember those characteristics in order except for Treasury Division. I found a site on the internet which listed the characteristics below. I started at Div 3 - Treasury but went down when I should have gone up. Therefore Div 4 is also stated incorrectly. Maybe, I uncovered a flaw in the Org Board? Orientation, Understanding and Enlightenment sounded good to me as Div 4 characteristics where a person is doing training or receiving auditing. However, per this chart, Enlightenment is obtained not in the receiving of auditing. Enlightenment occurs when the Registrar (Salesperson) closes the prospect on buying his or her next service!!!

I am saying its in error, tongue in cheek, but in a way, it may be true. You would think a person would come to enlightenment in study or in processing if the tech works as promised. Having a big cognition, that would seem like enlightenment. However, enlightenment occurs in the department of registration when the person is brought to the level of writing a check for their next service!!

That bit of data is very illuminating. In Hubbard's system, when a person cuts loose with his check, he is considered "enlightened". That sort of explains a lot of things about how C of S operates.
Lakey

Using the proper awareness characteristics which you give for Div 5 makes a lot more sense. Those are much more fitting for the quality control portion of the org! Thanks!

It remains for me, that in spite of thousands of words vigrous defense of that wonder called the org board that it has never worked other than as you describe.

My employees used to ask " Where the org board " ? and my answer was " Org board ? Oh, at the org. This isn't an org ".

Hmm, new business idea. I could get an org board written on the head of a grain of rice and peddle them to the faithful ones. I wonder if WISE ( they ain't ) would demand a cut of my rice ? LOL !

Who can forget the whole damn walls filled with an org board with people standing there with clipboards ( jamming up the passageway! ) trying to make head or tails out of that maze ?

Today is a good day ! The sun came up ! Enjoy you and yours !

Re: My iPod

This is absolutely incredible. I remember as a teenager, from about 1954 to 1956, I bought Popular Science magazine every month, read the Auto Road Tests first and then went to a section on how things would be in the future.

Every issue had a section which projected what things might be like in 30years, 50 years, 60 years. The magazine staff were way off. The things projected didn't really come to pass but things they never even dreamed of are now commonplace.

WHAT POPULAR SCIENCE PREDICTED - They were mainly limited to cars being able to fly or being able to convert to boats. This was the type of stuff featured in the earlier James Bond movies such as "Goldfinger". Popular Science also foresaw color television and they envisioned manufacturers being able to send sample products over the television to vending machine type apparatus which would be placed under the TV and dispense sample products.

They also predicted that a person could get in their car and preset a destination and that the car would take them there without the driver actually having to drive. This was to be possible only on special major highways to be set up for this.

They predicated something like the Dick Tracy Two - Way wrist radio where there would be a speaker and microphone in one's wrist watch whereby people could carry on a conversation at some distance, usually within the same city. Telephone service with a video picture was also predicted. Something akin to a FAX machine was predicted. People flying in jet planes was predicted. It was also predicted that we would land on the moon and set up a permanent base there. THAT IS ALL THE MAJOR THINGS WHICH I REMEMBER.

WHAT POPULAR SCIENCE DID NOT PREDICT - No personal computers at home and no lap top computers. No Global Positioning System, No Cell Phones, except for the wrist radio type of thing. Computers were thought of as just large Mainframe computers, servicing offices and perhaps aerospace and aeronautics. NO HOME USE WAS FORSEEN. NOTHING EVEN REMOTELY LIKE THE INTERNET WAS FORSEEN.

Since no personal computers were predicted, the internet and all the technical explosion which has taken place base on computing WERE NOT PREDICTED.

What Carmelo described in his post as now being quite routine was not even conceived as being possible only 55 years ago!

We used to say that our grandparents, born in the 1880's and 1890's were born into a horse and buggy world, without electricity and running water and plumbing in their homes. Many of these people lived into the 1970's and 80's and they had seen so much change in their lives we thought it was overwhelming. Horse and buggy with no aircraft in 1900 and a man on the moon in 1969.

But my generation has seen even more change than theirs. Growing up as a kid in the 1940's with not even a television in our house. We did have radio and we loved it. Music system? A crude 78 rpm vinyl record machine with one simple speaker. Taking a picture? How about a Kodak which took pictures in Black and White. Color was just coming in around 1942. How about the family car? A 1941 Chevy with a Stovebolt 6 engine, 3 on the tree transmission, no radio and no heater, about 80 horsepower and a top speed around 65 to 70 mph. AM radio and a heater were available but our car did not have them. The most high tech toy? Gilbert Co.'s Erector Set (no it was not a sex toy). You could get an erector set in levels from about 1 to 12. From a certain level, maybe 4 or 5, the set came with an electric motor. A kid could build something that could be plugged in and ran, such as a windmill.

Clothes were washed in an archaic washer with a wringer on it and dried on a clothes line and we had an ice box instead of a refrigerator. Refrigerator's did exist but due to WWII going on, they were not being sold so a lot of families still had ice boxes until 1946.

Compare this scenario from about 70 years ago to the scenario Carmelo described. What a difference in tech in only 70 years! It is truly amazing!! None of the experts even came close to predicting the tech that is now available.

Speaking of inventions and tech.....here are some interesting ones.

I like this one ...... this is from 1924.... I wonder why it didn't make it into the future and isn't used now???? Looks pretty cool to me.

I'd like to have one of these...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJC7E06IBXI&feature=relmfu

I see these little wirly gigs on the side, but how do they keep this thing in the air? Lakey, you're the engineer....can you tell how this works?

I don't know why this one won't come up as a video on ESMB, but just click on the link to see a flying/floating car.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=g7f1feSjDks&feature=endscreen

And....this is some kind of incredible tech creature.

I wonder what the future will bring????? :eyeroll:

What's Up Doc?

Lovers of the English language enjoy this...
It is an example of why people learning English have so much trouble.  Learning the nuances of English makes it a difficult language.

.....
This two-letter word in English has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is

'UP.'

It is listed in the dictionary as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election. Why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends, brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, warm  UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and  fix UP the old car. At other times this little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses...

To be dressed is one thing, but to be dressed UP is special!

And this UP is confusing:  A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped  UP. We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about the word UP !

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look UP the word UP in the dictionary..

In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions

If you are UP  to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding  UP. When the sun comes out we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, the earth soaks it UP . When it does not rain for awhile, things dry UP. One could go on & on, but I'll wrap this UP for now because my time is UP !

Oh...

one more thing:
What is the first thing you do in the morning & the last thing you do at night?

U  P !

Don't screw UP. Send this on to everyone you look UP in your address book.. otherwise UP yours!  It's UP to you!

Now I think I'll shut UP. Whew!!!

Very, very interesting Carmelo!! I never thought about this before but after reading your post, it seems to me that a lot of the meanings stem from something breaking through the surface, and rising to see the "light of day".

The concept seems to contain the thought that "seeds" or "potential" exist below the surface and either by chance or because someone intends it, those seeds break through the surface into what is currently being viewed and discussed in life.

"A topic came up in our discussion yesterday...." This would be a typical example of that usage of the word. Waking up or getting up could be looked at in this way as well. It is a bit of a stretch, but "What's up?" could fit into this pattern as well. What's up Doc? just ads more color to the "What's up?

Certainly not all usages of "up" fit this mode, not by a long shot but many do.

An example of one that does not would be to say, "I give up." That one seems to be just the opposite. A person already has something going on above ground and through intimidation or force used against them, they "give in" and bury it under the surface. To step up, makes sense and relates back to going higher towards the sky by using physical steps.

"It's up to" you doesn't seem to fit my first model but could easily be fit into the "step up" model. When someone say, "its up to you", they could just as easily say, "You are the one who has to take the first step (up)."

All this makes my think of Noah Webster. Words, languages, idioms, slang, etc. - it is all exremely interesting!!

Toot toot! (No one had posted in two days.)

OK

I guess I'll tell you why it has been so quiet.

I was outed as an OSA spy.

I am so humiliated.

Having left the Co$ in 1976, I have, apparently been leading a life like Herb Philbric.

The person who outed me has a big Roman numeral after her name. A real loyal officer. With analysis like that, the Indie movement can't lose.

If you bought the original premise of this post, I also have been forced due to financial problems, to having to sell my controlling ownership of the Golden Gate Bridge. If anyone needs a bridge, I can make you a real steal of a deal.

APOLLO '73 CO FOUNDERS LINK UP FOR DINNER -
Candy was over at my place, yesterday, and we knew that Carmelo was working in near by Pomona so she called him and asked if he would like to meet us for dinner. He said he would and so we set it up for Downtown Fullerton, about the mid point between Pomona and my place.

Carmelo brought along his dog, Quincy, and so we ate outside in the patio area of the restaurant, "Cafe Hidalgo". It was very cold but they have heaters out there which handled that problem.

All four of us had a lot of fun talking about nothing in particular, "a little of this, a little of that." Only 4 days earlier, I had a meet up with some other people at the same restaurant. I met with my ex wife, the opera singer who I dated in the late 70's and Johnny, the Magic Thetan. I took photos of that one but not of our dinner with Carmelo. Johnny is doing fine, he has no further plans of posting on ESMB.

Sorry I didn't get back to you on the flying car question, FoTi. I looked at the video again and something didn't make sense. There's no way those little propellers on the side of that "car" could make the car fly and keep it stable to boot. I reminded me of the tech used in the Superman TV series of the 1950's to simulate Superman flying. In a nutshell, it was "tacky" and did not look very real.

Compare George Reeves as Superman flying in the 50's and Christopher Reeve as Superman flying decades later and there is all the difference in the world.

FoTi, I was not exactly an engineer but was a computer programmer. I did have a math and engineering background. If an engineer wanted something programmed in computer code so as to run some suimulation, they would assign me to work with a particular engineer. I knew enough math and physics, with my Bachelor's degree to translate his equations into computer code. I got really good at it. I threw away a 9 year career doing that to join the Fucking Sea Org!! Looking back in retrospect, that was the stupidist thing I ever did in my life.

Getting back to what makes the "car" fly, I just read the comments at the bottom of the post. That object turns out to be a helium filled balloon which is simulated to look like a car.

I didn't know you were a computer programmer....I'll keep that in mind. Why did you not go back to computer programming after leaving the S.O.? It seems as if it's been a lucrative profession for many years now.

FoTi, thanks for asking that question. I've thought about that from time to time. Here's the deal. I quit IBM Corp. Federal Systems Division in late 1971. I was 31 and had been programming since 1962. I wrote a letter of resignation that I was quitting to join and work for the Church of Scientology.

In mid "71 we IBMers were working on site at Aerojet General in Azusa. We had a team there of perhaps 20-25 workers working with the Aerojet engineers. Our contract was up for renewel but instead of automatically renewing with us, Aerojet formed a team similar to ours and decided not to renew with us but instead do the work, "in house" with their own team.

IBM then transfered us up to Westlake Village near the edge of northern L.A. County near Thousand Oaks in Ventura County. They had a new modern building up there they were renting. There really wasn't much going on, we had no contracts going with any Aerospace companies. We were 45 miles from central L.A.'s Wilshire district where I lived. I don't remember doing anything there except busy work. After about 3 months of this nonsense, an announcement came down that IBM was transfering all of us out of Westlake Village to Poughkeepsie, New York.

I did not want to move away from the L.A. Area to New York state and that was a major reason why I quit my job.

I left the Sea Org almost exactly 3 years after I quit IBM, in Dec. 1974. My Dad wrote me letters while I was on the Apollo that he had broken up with his partner and was trying to run his Construction business all by himself. My first inclination was to go to work to help my Dad and I did so in 1974. I worked that business all the way until late 2011.

I never thought seriously about going back to aerospace. IBM's aerospace division was not in So Cal any longer and I would have had to travel to Poughkeepsie and I doubted seriously if they would rehire me. I had not programmed in 3 years which is a big lapse in the programming field. I could have tried North American Rockwell, or Douglas but I had already worked at those two companies earlier and had quit. That left Lockheed and Northrup and I believe Ryan in San Diego. I wanted to help my Dad and try my hand at running our own company.

The last time, I looked at returning to Programming was in 1976. I was on course at ASHO and Buck Haegele was on lines there. He worked for Aeroject when I was there in 1970 and 1971 and, being the only two Scios at Aerojet, we became good friends and ate together every day.

I began eating with him and a bunch of his buddies at ASHO weekends for lunch. We would drive to a place called "Organicville". a health food restaurant and market much like today's "Mothers" or "Whole Foods".

Buck told me that he was working at some computer place and was earning $24,000. That was around $125K to $130K in today's money He told me they were hiring and that I could probably get a job there even though I had been out of the industry for nearly 5 years. I was too deeply committed to my Dad's business by then and never seriously considered going back to computers.

Haiti Relief

While Candy, Lakey, and I chatted in Fulleron last night, my youngest was a part of the Haitian contingent at this:

An A list fundraiser for Haiti

Today my dog and I hooked up with her and some of her friends.

She's been living in Haiti for awhile now.So after schmoozing, eating, drinking coffee, and more talk, my daughter and I walked around Beverly Hills and did a little shopping at Cartier. Then we drove over to our old stomping ground, Santa Monica.

We walked and talked and knoshed for hours and miles. One of us marked our trail, so that other dogs would know we had been there.

It's nice to have familiar surroundings, and someone comfortable to share it with.

Celebrity Centre Before the Beginning

I was talking to my friend, Robbie Levin, a few moments ago

Back when Yvonne Gillham was CO of the AO on Westlake at 9th ST. in LA. She only audited one person, Robbie Levin. They hung out together everywhere, and were the best of friends. It was Robbie and Yvonne, who hatched the plot that became CC.

Robbie's band, People! were joining the Sea Org. Robbie and Yvonne thought a division of the SO for artists was a good idea.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

lkwdbids,

I've been curious about the research auditors Hubbard used. He talks about them quite a bit in the '51-'52 lectures as he's switching from Dianetics to Scientology, moving from man-as-superman to man-as-immortal-being--around the time he wrote SOS.

Do you have information about them? I assume he's always used research auditors. Any references or suggestions? I think I remember scanning a few of your posts and you saying you did research auditing for him.

Since my wife and I had a sit-down at the beginning of the year, I've been assigned a budget of fifteen minutes a day (max, non-accumulative) with regards to all things Scientology. For some reason, she thinks the subject brings out the worst in me. Like too much creatine: makes me too aggressive and combative.

Since I love laying on my back and having my belly scratched....

Fifteen minutes it is.

Michael
