LRH Dropped His Body Event.

There is a lot of weird theta surrounding this subject and people in the know are dying like flies or just refusing to talk about. I don't know why.

I watched the whole thing on the original VHS (thank you Jeanie Sonenfild), and some of it is available on you tube.

Now, I found out that our own ESMB members FoTi, Mick Wenlock and Mimsey Borogrove were actually present at the above-mentioned event and I hope they will share more.

Also, I invite anyone else who happen to attend that event, where Pat and Dave informed
Scientology community about LRH's epic development, to share as much as possible.

I remember attending the event. The dropped body at cause speech and having no clue who the Brokers were or DM for that matter.

I remember one of them saying (I think it was Pat Broker) That LRH told him that at the announcement event it was important that there be no grief. He said he thought maybe some of the Scientology community would have some grief and LRH replied "tell them to quit invalidating themselves, they know they're thetans" and we all laughed and it seemed so very theta.

It also was one of those pivotal moments where you knew a line was drawn in the sand that separated Scientologists from the rest of society. Wogs would never understand what we knew. It also meant that if we were to die there was a target two to help with.

Then the Mission Earth books were released and that horrible album. Of course hearing "Thank You For Listening" was like a personal message to each of us from the old man.

I also remember I wore a light blue silk kimono to the event.

I was there too, 21 years old with my first ex wife, pregnant with my first son, I in RTC, she in OSA as the MAC I/C, me at Int, her in LA because she was unable to get her Int Clearances.

I knew who Annie was only by the +, her confidential "handle" at the top of the RTC org board, she was the IG remotely, in addition to whatever else she was doing with Hubbard, though I never met her personally, just saw her from a distance.

I remember at the event having scared thoughts about what would happen to the church with Ron being gone. Now we know.

I was at the event. It was a very sudden announcement. Everyone was supposed to go to the Palladium for a special event. I kid you not - the first thing that popped into my head was “LRH died”. I was told that the Palladium would overflow so all the 'nobodies' like me had to watch it on the big screen (at CCI, I think). A friend and I bolted from big blue and headed to the Palladium to see it live. Mr. and Mrs. Broeker were basically introduced as the new leaders of Scientology (“Loyal Officers”, I believe). It's strange that I don't have more specific memories about that event because my memories of life at PAC in general are quite vivid. There were tears in the audience, but overall it was very upbeat for a death announcement. LRH was moving on to the next planet, or some such thing, and I think Mr. Miscaviage read LRH's last Flag Order about going off to the stars and doing more research. I think the Scientology lawyer gave a speech (Mr. Cooley, as I recall). Then, at the end of the event they played a song called “Thank You for Listening” with LRH rockin’ on lead vocals.

Shortly thereafter (maybe the same night??) I shared an elevator ride at PAC with none other than Mr. Miscaviage. I complimented him on the event and he told me to tuck in my shirt and act like a Sea Org Member. He had a sort of friendly tone, so maybe he's just no good at taking compliments. That was the first and last time I ever spoke with the man.

Prior to the video tapes arriving in Australia, all staff were called into the Academy, where Jan Eastgate read a telex which was basically the wording of the "event" anyway.

As a Sydney "Event" the whole thing took place inside the org with three internal locations where the video was shown. I remember DM reading the same wording as Jan Eastgate had done, lots of those fake "Hip, Hip, Hoorays" and hand clapping.

I consider myself fortunate that memories of this "Event" have dimmed significantly but I do recall there was no mention of "Target 2". lrh was specifically doing research that would be encumbered by the body giving the impression that at some point on the bridge (OT XV?), dropping the bod would be necessary to move on further. More OT Levels were supposed to exist in 'note' form, and yet all these years later, none of them have materialized on the "Bridge". Obviously RTC staff are better at believing pre-existing crap that making up more of it.

What the hell can be taking him so long? Are those "upper levels" all
that complicated; so time consuming that EL Ron can't take a few moments
to drop by and cheer his loyal fillowers up a bit?

Surely he is aware of all the trials and tribulations his "church" is undergoing
back here on Teegeack. Surely he is cognizant of the urgent need for
all those new OH Tee levels. Jeez, we're getting sick and tired of all the reruns..

Telling poor Davey that Davey has already, years ago, woven a chain far
heavier than that which burdens poor El Ron's Ghost. We can only guess
if El Ron has foretold a visit by three spirits...A Spiirit of Cult Events Past,
of Events Present and a (really scary) Spirit of Events Future. Whether or not
Davey can be redeemed by these spectral visits, we can only guess.

Serially, though, back on thread:

I was at the overflow event that day at CCInt and was on staff there at the time. I remember being happy for the relief from the daily hammer and pound of staff work. And because of the unprecedented nature of the event - no org production, etc. that it must be a biggie.

The personality of Pat Broeker struck me as very like a smooth tele-evangelist for some reason - soothing and clean (?) and pushing an agenda - the gospel of LRH. He pointed out a date that was so long it took up almost a whole page of worksheet so as to prove Hubbards' research balls .

I remember it being a very peaceful time as everyone quit mocking up whatever they were usually mocking up and just had their attention on the passing of LRH.

In the days following the event, I remember all staff had to go to Qual and read the Scn news issue posted elsewhere on ESMB and starrate on the SOED it contained re the posting of Pat and Annie Broeker as Loyal Officers and LRH as Admiral. All the CC staff got a special briefing one night from Suzette Hubbard about her father and his passing. I wonder now if she had any idea of his true condition in his last years.

Later, the WTF moments started when I kept getting newly dated HCOPLs and HCOBs in the normal staff hat in basket traffic from HCO - I remember wondering if Hubbard is dead then who is writing these issues? The real WTF came quite a bit later when I happened to be in HCO to check on a pc's status and saw the goldenrod issue posted on the HCO bulletin board declaring Pat and Annie Broeker to be SPs and their posting as Loyal Officers as total concocted BS. It became so wild in those days I thought the Soviet news agency Tass couldn't have done it better. And then when I saw the first ' Based on the works of ' courses, it was OMG WTF....yet I still had the cool-aid in my hand...
