Scientology Films - WHY Hubbard makes you have another person watch the film?

My theory - he wanted to BRAIN WASH as many people as he could. # of time's watched = BRAINWASHED, indoctrinated...just like advertising - everything in those Idle Morgue's are meant to brainwash the members into thinking just like the crazy NUT - El Ron!! Get as many people watching his stupid films as he possibly could!

I never could figure that one out! I thought it was really really really weird! And I was right - it is really really really weird! Hubbard had only one motive - and that was to indoctrinate everyone by making people watch the films over and over and over with another person.

The people that watched the films with me were strange too - would not talk and they acted so strange. The staff were pissed because it pulled them off their post and the $5 they were to receive after 150 hours of working that week may get cut to $1.

I know what you mean. I've wondered the same and thought the reason was to ensure that no one slept through a movie because the other would be required to report the one sleeping.

Well, it was supposedly to make sure you didn't dope off because of mu's...the other person was supposed to catch it and make sure you cleared all your words.

But, yeah... indoctrination. Thank the heavens that I will never, ever be subjected to a pink sheet or a cram where I have to watch a film 3 times in a row again. All of us on TTC wound up just going brain-dead because we knew the majority of the films verbatim. Pure torture.

I quite liked having to watch those films so much, as if you were clever you could sort of go to sleep with your eyes open and catch up a bit on lost snooze time.

However, if she was not too busy (hahahaha) I used to make sure I got to watch the films accompanied by the extremely hot female auditor the org used to have. In the interests of my auditing of course.

They'd have you erroneously word clearing for hours afterwards.
