LRH Series Library Donation Campaign – Photos Of The Fraud

For anyone out there who might still think of contributing large sums to organized scientology’s “library donation campaigns”, I present to you some photographic proof of what happens with books sent to the libraries.

For a few years many of us have bought books like “the basics” , still in shrink-wrap, from libraries who received them as donations and who wanted nothing to do with them. Most of us paid $1 each for the books. What did you pay to “donate them” to the libraries?

In my case, the libraries from which I got “the basics”still in shrink-wrap for $1 each said they wanted nothing to do with LRH or his scientology books. Many others posted on different forums saying the exact same thing happened to them.

I decided to try to find the complete set of the new “L Ron Hubbard Series” and see if I could get the whole set from a library that received them from Bridge Publications as per the library donation campaign. And I only wanted them if they were still shrink-wrapped and unwanted by the library. Although I wanted the set of volumes at $1 each I was willing to go up to $3 each.

Well I got them for just over $2 each plus postage. What did organized scientology charge you tohelp donate these books to libraries?

In case you want some proof, please enjoy the following photos I just took:

The first shows both boxes that contained all 16 volumes of “The L. Ron Hubbard Series”. Notice that they are from “Bridge Publications”and marked in bold “DONATION ENCLOSED”:

Next check out a close up of one of the mailing labels. You can see that it is addressed to me and that it is from the “Tunkhannok PublicLibrary”:

closeuptomaillabel_zpsb1989f0a.jpg

Next see the “Acknowledgment of Receipt” that Bridge Publications wanted the library to send to them. The library wanted nothing to do with it and sent it to me. Rest assured that I will send in that acknowledgment thanking Bridge for the set and I will express my upset that I had to pay a little over $2 for each book in the set when I feel they may be worth more like $1 each:

ackofreceiptform_zpsc6f1821f.jpg

Next notice that I got all 16 volumes:

And finally here are two examples showing the shrink wrap was indeed still on:

and

So there you have it, scientology’s “library donation campaign” at work.

PS: Even though I had to pay just over $2 each for these when I had hoped to just pay $1 each, I think I did a lot better than those of you who got them from Bridge Publications.

On their website Bridge Publications says:

Introducing the L. Ron Hubbard Series, The Complete Biographical Encyclopedia: a highly personalized and deeply penetrating16-volume set, chronicling the extraordinary life of L. Ron Hubbard.
Detailing Mr. Hubbard’s monumental achievements along the myriad of avenues he walked, here is the definitive saga of a life like no other—and all as told through a multitude of archival documents and never previously seen images.
Come to know L. Ron Hubbard—the legend, the legacy, the man—with themost comprehensive account of his life ever assembled

And here is their price:
THE L. RON HUBBARD SERIES
THE COMPLETE BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA

By L. Ron Hubbard
Hardcover
PRICE: $800.00 (MEMBER PRICE: $720)

You are being lied to and made a fool of by Miscavige when they tell you how many libraries have the books and then demand you pay a huge sum to “donate” them to remaining libraries.

Walk away.

L Ron Hubbard..."Restoring Honor and Respect"???? WTF?

Pardon me, I don't think anyone here would pay one thin dime for anything Hubbard wrote - call me crazy - but I would not even have them for FREE or if the Church of Scientology paid me $100 each. Maybe $1,000,000 for each book - and then I would destroy them - burn them and bury the ashes. Of course, I would bury the ashes in a city dump - that way there would be some hope for the worms...don't want to pollute their homes too much... they would have some decent trash to mix it up a bit!!

I understand how you feel.

But I did not get them because I give a damm about Hubbard. I know these are disgraceful and full of lies.

I got them for two reasons:

1. To demonstrate the fraud for others; and
2. I have been exposing Hubbard and scientology for years. Trust me, I will put these to good use:yes: I will have a lot of fun with these.

I just had a huge cog: ALL of Hubbard's books are "fiction", including his Biography!!

Only one book missing - "Ron the Con" and that book would be the only non-fiction in all!! This photo just has to go on the cover of the next scathing book published about Scientology. I can see it on the book shelves now - with huge letters: L Ron Hubbard aka Ron the Con! The greatest con man in history!

Here is the photo for the front cover:

L Ron Hubbard: "Rehabilitating a Drugged Society" (can I get a WTF please?) Our world has never seen so many drugs - legal and illegal!! "bath salts, meth, crack - all new drugs Blubbtoad never even heard of. This is hysterical! Psych drugs have never been so rampant and CCHR and Scientology DO NOTHING ABOUT IT!

What's up about "going green" book - Slappy Mismanagement is so stupid - he thinks he will keep up with the times like Hubbard knew about going green!

These titles are just hysterical!

Good job. I donated 2 sets of the basics and 2 sets of all the CD's and $20k in Psychiatry:An Industry of Death videos I had laying around in my garage to the recycle plant. They will be put to better use there than collecting dust.

Those titles are HILARIOUS ! :roflmao:

"At The Helm Accross Seven Seas" , Really ? :hysterical::hysterical:

Actually that is the first one I plan to read..

As I said on WWP last night, I am hoping that it will cover how in WW II Ron depth charged some sort of mineral deposit that was trying to invade the USA.

Also, I can't wait to read how Ron saved the USA from a Mexican invasion by, without regard to his own life, shelling a Mexican island just as they were about to overrun southern California

I’ll have you know that the book entitled “Horticulture For a Greener World” has a picture of Ron touching and looking knowingly at this big plant. Obviously Ron was in telepathic communication with the plant.

This excites me and I am hoping that this book contains that picture of Ron auditing a tomato.

Did you know that that tomato attested to clear just after that session? But sadly the tomato fell on bad times, became PTS and ended up in a bottle of Heinz Ketchup. :bigcry:

You have to read this book to get all the juicy details though.

Denise - I'm sure the CofS is very grateful to you for documenting that they are in fact actually sending these books out to local libraries and not just pocketing the donations.

They can't help the fact that there are SP librarians out there that don't appreciate them.

Thanks MissWog :)

I went to local libraries looking for the series but none had it nor did they want it even for free.

So I went on to EBAY looking for the set and found a number of listings. I went through the listings until I found an actual library that had the full set, still shrink wrapped and still in the boxes.

I communicated with them, verified they were what I wanted and then bid. I got them for a bit over $2 per volume.

I thought this library was creative as other libraries I knew of just tended to put shrink -wrapped “donated” Hubbard books like “The Basics” in boxes selling them for $1 each.

There may be more such sets on there from libraries. I did not go on looking after I found what I wanted.

Before you laugh too hard, let us give credit where credit is due.

I’ll have you know that Hubbard served with distinction at the helm of the USS Lulzboat.

Oh, a wise guy,eh?
I have purchased brand new Scientology materials from libraries. Some of them have a donation slip in them with a person's name. My local library stocks the basic tech books and an over-the-top collection of LRH's science fiction crap. No lecture series are available.

If I were a librarian, I would find the Scientology lecture packages unacceptable if for no other reason than they are a horror in design. What with an oversized flimsy plastic shell that breaks easily and poorly designed contents, these packages are a headache in a box. Each lecture series has too many CDs and the small, thick transcript booklets are an accident waiting to happen.

I make mp3 copies of the lectures and a whole series can fit on just one cd using the mp3 format. A sane design would have the lecture transcripts in a regular book-sized format and have one, at the most two CDs tucked into the front or back of the book.

I guess CoS figures that if you pay them the outrageous price they ask for this stuff, it should at least be physically bulky even if the lectures are not weighty. They do make a good doorstop.

Am I Mettaya?
In 1986 or-7, the HAS Austin-F told me he went to visit his hometown in NY state, and checked in the library there to see how the books he had donated were doing. He had spent $250 of his hard-earned (at his day job of course) money for Bridge to send a package of books there some months earlier.
He got there and found none of the books in the catalog. Inquiring, he was told there might still be some left on the $1 sale rack for unwanted books. He was able to buy a few of them back cheap.:bigcry:

Back in the late 1990s anytime I needed to go to a book store I would print out a few pages on those sheets of perforated business cards with a list of the various web addresses such as www.xenu.net, and alt.religion.scientology on them, I'd place one in the inside cover of all of the Scientology books on the shelf, but fewer and fewer book stores were carrying any of the cult's books, so it wasn't worth bothering anymore. I'm not even sure if you could even find a Scientology book on the shelves of a book store anymore, even if you wanted to. I can't image anyone picking up a Scientology book in this day and age and even if they did, once they went on-line to get more info that would put an end to any legitimate interest in Scientology.
