I think Panda's question is pertinent. Who are the insouciant Scientologists on ESMB?

Veda was directing his public service announcement to someone. I'd like to know who falls into the category. Was this another dig at Karen? Or was this a sly dig at Panda? Veda is quite convinced that Panda is a sekret Scientologist.

Or is it a dig at me? Could be.

I'm betting the farm that I don't get an answer to this question, but it really doesn't matter. It was yet another sly dig at members of this board who have been trying to lighten things up since the Veda/Gerroline black cloud decided to settle over ESMB.

What I've noticed about the Veda-meister is that he complains loudly about being "dogpiled", and yet keeps starting threads in which his OPs invite controversy. :duh:

But I am happy to announce that it no longer bothers me! I took about five days off of ESMB recently, and when I came back I noticed that practically nothing said by anyone gets under my skin anymore. I think I've truly become....dare I say it.....Insouciant!!

It was a goal of mine in Scientology to become Insouciant. I never achieved that EP though. Must have been the GAT CS's fault. I never would've guessed that it would be ExScientology that would help me to achieve Insouciance. Thank you ESMB!!!! Count this as my success story!! :thumbsup:

The post was to Scientologists and friends. Its focus was on the gimmick of accusing others that they "are humorless." How does one respond to that?

It's an attempt to introvert. One that dates back to a St. Hill PR in the early 1970s upbraiding Paulette Cooper for "being humorless." It's an old gimmick. It doesn't work.

Now the more important part of this post:

I am not the cause of the problem here at ESMB, nor is Caroline.

Too many good people have been banned, or have thrown up their hands and left. There are those that still lurk, but, sometimes because of timidity, say nothing.

If the good people who were banned were invited back, and an effort made to convince those who left in exasperation to return, and if the timid dissenters could be made to express themselves and go from lurking to posting, then the MB would be revitalized, and the small clique that currently throws its weight around - and sometimes plays dark head games - would not be so brazen. (And, no, Emma, I do not consider that you are part of that clique.)

If somehow, these things were to occur, the MB would benefit tremendously.

Which would be wonderful, because there's no other MB like it.

Emma, you did a great thing when you started ESMB.

And I will always respect and admire you for it.

Veda I'm the one who banned them all. And they were banned for a very good reason. So if you want to target someone target me.

When you speak of "the small clique that currently throws its weight around - and sometimes plays dark head games" who are you referring to? You could be upsetting a lot of people needlessly by being so general in your accusation.
(I only mention it because that's the sort of thing you usually say to me if I dare to be general in posting.)

Seriously, do you know how to deal with a clique?

Here's how: Take one post at a time, be direct, and leave out the innuendos.

It is your own innuendos that are working against you.

The clique only exists in your mind.

It is an idea in your mind that you use to categorize people who you don't like or who say things that doesn't agree with your ideas.

You really need to lighten up and set your ego aside; it is making you a laughing stock.

If other critics were as super-sensitive about their egos as you the critic movement would have ended years ago.

You're just whining way too much.

Lighten up.

one of the definitions for responsibility in the tech dictionary is the ability to withhold, or something like that.

Which I agree with somewhat.
