I watched a show on a cult tonight on the National Geographic Channel. They are in New Mexico and they believe that their leader is the Messiah. He has sex with members' wives and some of their young daughters.

The show was filmed up until October 31, 2007, when the Messiah said the world would end. Well, the world didn't end, but they are all still believing very hard.

Yesterday, May 6th, 2008, police arrested the leader for having sex with minors.

Here is their website. They have a movie justifying the sex for him.

And interviews with the girls who he had sex with, justifying it.

His wife has a blog entry dated yesterday on it.

Go here and be FREAKED F*****G OUT!!

Generally as I understand it, the rule is if opening your zipper doesn't make her gasp, opening your wallet had better.
I wonder what this guy has. Hair?

I made it about half an hour into the video before the zombie theme started crawling up my spine and I had to turn it off. You think it won't get to you, but man, that is tough to take.

"The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee."

Strong city is ironicly close to the early christian cultists celebration of their beliefs....

But then love is anathema these days.

Nobody could have sex but the cult leader.

Even husbands and wives were forbidden to have sex because it was "selfish".

But the leader had sex with the husband's wives, including his own son's wife.

But only when God told him to.

He is interviewed on camera in the National Geographic Channel show, telling how God told him to "consummate" with his son's wife. This is while his son's wife and his son are in the room with the camera crew.

At one point, the son walks into another room in the trailer and hides his face against a wall while his dad goes on about God telling him to fuck his wife.

It really does show how you can come to believe anything.

There are interviews with members that will just humiliate the shit out of you as a former Scientologist. You see them talking about their "wins", and then out comes this completely outlandish worldview that blatantly supports the cult teachings of the Founder to get into their pants.

And they can't see it. They keep their moon-eyes on the prize at all times: spiritual salvation through the divine/mortal incarnation of God's Son on Earth, their leader.

I haven't time to see it all. Caught a few snippets. Thanks for putting it there.

I think this kind of thing is very valuable. When in CoS everything is focussed on the differences between you/us and wogs. There is nothing on similarities to other groups and here we have a very sobering one.

There is an update to this show.

National Geographic filmed the court proceedings where this cult leader was convicted in a New Mexico court room for 3 out of 4 counts of sexual acts with a minor and sentenced to ten years in prison.

It is playing now on the National Geographic channel.

It is so astounding to watch this as an Ex.

If interested, look for "Strong City Cult" on google or national geographic's website.

National Geographic? I thought they concentrated on primitives and beasts and so forth.

This was shown in Australia too - quite horrible and at the same time fascinating to watch.

Did you see the part where the cult leader was down on the living room floor, demonstrating and explaining to the cameras how "God" had him pinned to the floor, and how this could only mean that he was going to have to have sex with his daughter in law?

And how his son accepted it? And so did the daughter in law?

He made the act of having sex with him The Bridge to Total Freedom!

The dude was brilliant!

It is so outrageous that you have to laugh, and yet it is so not funny at all to me as an Ex.

Watching the degree to which those people are looking away from what is right in front of their eyes is highly disturbing to me, yet unbelievably hilarious at the same time.

There are many conflicting emotions for me following that story.

And much to learn there for me, too.

I think...

The thing that struck me most, in both programs, is the look in their eyes. Wide-eyed, entranced. They just keep looking and looking at him as though to turn away would be to sacrifice a magic moment. The adoration, the focus on just him ....there has to be some form of hypnotism there? :confused2:

I know exactly what you mean. I saw that, too.

Did I look like that when I was a Scientologist?
