I like Smurf, but it's well-known that he and Laura had a falling away a long time ago. I don't want to take sides here, I'm just very fond of the speakers and others working at this and think we should be supportive.

Darth Xander, a Chicago attorney, who often protests at FLAG, who encouraged Tom Smith to attend Flag Down. Laura Flynn disagreed. Darth is a seasoned attorney who knows the legal ramifications of an injunction & how it can be used & not used (by the cult).
So what?

What does Darth Xander encouraging Tom Smith to attend Flag Down have to do with Mark Bunker, or any other person named on the permanent injunction, attending Flag Down?

Then again, perhaps you misspoke.

Are you saying Darth Xander, a Chicago attorney, gave legal advice to Laura that Mark Bunker could attend Flag Down without any possible negative legal consequences to Flag Down attendees who later picketed the COS in Clearwater in an area or in a way prohibited by the injunction?

If so, is Darth Xander, "a Chicago attorney," licensed to practice law and five such legal advice in Florida?

You do it, then. You put your ass on the line first.

Let me paraphrase a challenge from Wolfbane over on WWP.

https://whyweprotest.net/community/...unction-discussion.118319/page-2#post-2451330

Put my ass on the line?? :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

You obviously do not know my history . . . wait, I see you have umm, 105 posts on ESMB and came here in September 2013 . . . well that explains it :melodramatic:

Check out my history . . . it's all (well most of it) here:yes:

For the record, I object to people who think they know it all going off half-cocked and being abusive, offensive and nasty to good people like Mark B who are on the same side as us here on ESMB trying to help people resolve nasty shit like is being exposed on this thread and goes on in the cult and on forums such as here and WWP and former ex-Scn forums.

I have tried to point out the legal errors you fellas have fallen into . . . ummm, well, that is assuming they are errors and not some hidden agenda by some to forward the cult's "ethics presence" and threats to silence critics with the "overhanging threat of use of this 'injunction'" to be used in spurious ways against anyone who thinks or acts in a manner the cult doesn't like. I say this, for I am sure, knowing OSA's tricks, that this think will have been well planted by its trolls and operatives . . . . so I don't blame you personally for this failboat,

To be honest, my Dear failboat, the think you and your fellows have conveyed demonstrates ineptitude on the subjects and issues you are asserting you know of.

Again, read the limitations and freedoms that are clearly written into the the injunction you guys have all run in fear of.

So are you telling me that anytime I am seen with Tory in Florida that I can never protest Scientology at Clearwater ever again, or just if I am seen with her ever? You all, who know how far these ramifications stretch. Do tell.

What if I disconnect from her? Will it be safe for me to protest then? Or just once seen associating, always slimed by this "toxic radiation"?

Yo Purple Rain...........

A) This "Injunction"
IS **ONLY**
having to do with PICKETING
IN CLEARWATER, FLORIDA...ONLY!

B) You will *never* see ME in Clearwater, FL...for more reasons
than this stupid Injunction.

So come to LA and we shall picket..........or ANYWHERE Else in the world :) :woohoo:

Show me dox that Mark was going to protest that weekend, and I will. Otherwise STFU.

Mark may very well show up to film the protest which is his constitutional right & there's not a damn thing that the egotistical asshat Laura Flynn can do about it, except bawwww to a cop to do her dirty work.

And the cult may very well scream that he's in violation of the injunction. He was near the Ft. Harrison in November.

I went up to Clearwater and did a bit of protesting today. C of s security did video me. One Clearwater Police Department rent-a-cop was standing with c of s security on " their permitted side of Ft. Harrison Ave. " jotting something down in a notebook. ( probably about me. ) I do video all the policemen I see now. I suppose if I get a video made and up on YT... I will black out their faces. Thanks for that info above Smurf.

I was hoping to see the Flag Down 2014 tour bus but didn't.

snip of utter nonsense

With regard to Mark Bunker, Laura did what she felt was necessary to protect her attendees, who she knew were going to protest the COS in Clearwater, from being exposed to legal risk. Perhaps you think she was over-protective. Easy for you to say because you had and have no skin in the game. I'd rather she be over-protective with regard to the possible legal exposure of her attendees than be under-protective and have them hauled into Court and questioned as above.

Clearly, you have no understanding of the legal precedent of injunctions or case law & are just talking out of your ass. :duh:

My profile on WWP dates to August, 2009. Over 1100 posts. I came here because no one here was talking about a subject I care about, and I thought it was a worthwhile discussion to start here. Critiquing the length of my time here is juvenile. You should challenge the quality of my work if anything at all.

I noticed that you didn't accept wolfbane's challenge. That's what I meant by putting your ass on the line. It was not a reference to your history here or how many posts you've made. It was a reference specifically to the challenge quoted in that post.

You're asking others to put their asses on the line, so it is only fair that you be challenged yourself.

Given the cult's elusive ability to lie & misinterpret the letter of the law, the cult, if it wanted to, could get claim those that were allowed in.. Arnie Lerma, Michael Tilse & few others of being an "associate" of Mark Bunker because they are his Facebook friends.
I suggest you check the friend's list on Mark Bunker's Facebook page & see how many of them Laura allowed into the event. The cult could have easily used this as a deceptive ploy to allude his FB as "associates". Arnie Lerma is a FB friend. He was a speaker at the event.
Could you possibly come up with a more easily distinguishable factual scenario and weaker straw man argument than this?

Any minimally decent attorney is much less likely to believe he can non-frivolously argue, and any Court is much less likely to find, that "A" and "B" are "acting in concert" withing the meaning of an injunction regulating the picketing of the Church of Scientology when they: (a) are merely Facebook friends; than (b) both attend a multi-day conference specifically billed as an "anti-Scientology" conference and are witnessed (and perhaps videoed, recorded or photographed) conversing at length about the subject of the conference.

It is difficult to believe that any Court would find, or that even the COS would argue, that two people are "acting in concert" merely because they are Facebook friends.

It is less difficult to believe that a Court would find, and far less difficult to believe that the COS would assert and argue, that two people are "acting in concert" with regard to a injunction governing picketing of the Church of Scientology when they both attend and converse at a multi-day ant-Scientology conference.

The simple truth is it was not your decision. You weren't responsible for trying to protect people who knew were going to picket the COS at the end of the week. You had no responsibility. You had no skin in the game.

EDITED TO ADD:

Your combination in the second quotation of Facebook Friendship and someone attending the conference also adds a degree of separation issue. Let me elaborate.

Say Arnie Lerma is Facebook Friends with Mark Bunker and pickets in a prohibited zone or way. If the COS asserts that Arnie is acting in
concert with Mark based on the Facebook friendship alone, then Arnie's attendance at the conference is irrelevant.

Now say Arnie Lerma is Facebook Friends with Mark Bunker. Bunker doesn't attend the conference. Arnie attends the conference with person "A." Later "A" pickets in a prohibited zone or way. (Arnie does not picket.) The COS then says that "A" was acting in concert with Mark because, and only because, he attended a ant-Scientology conference with Arnie who is Facebook friends with Mark. That is the degree of separation issue / problem. That argument is very attenuated and nothing like scenario I described where Mark attends and converses with "A" at a anti-Scientology conference.

Tory I would never disconnect from you. You have to know that. I was making a point - that that's kind of what people are doing to Mark. I adore you! You have to know that.

But seriously, I am going back to Clearwater. I WANT them to serve me with this injunction. Then I want to go straight to court to challenge its constitutionality. If I lose, well, I don't live in Clearwater anyway. No big deal. If I win then it will rid the world of this pox once and for all.

Smurf - please? :begging:

I'm sure it's clear to all that Laura didn't handle that situation well and was in error. For the sake of the speakers and the others who donated and attended, can we just drop it for now?

I've rarely seen such pathetic intellectual cowardice, much less from such a vaunted paralegal, as someone who will snip a post and then deem it "utter nonsense" without analysis or discussion.

Pathetic.

I used to respect you. I don't anymore.

So, you're blaming me for all the discourse on Laura Flynn's bad behavior? You should be speaking with her. :)

... I'm just whiteknighting for AMA because she deserves at least one or two here. ...

I find this kind and admirable. She did indeed do a lot of work, and the event wouldn't have gone on without her.

But here's the thing. If you behave antisocially then people will tend to diminish their appreciation of your good works. That's just life. You make that choice. If you are angry and insulting and basically mean to people, then you shouldn't be surprised if they react negatively to you. That's why most people don't behave that way.

So, it may be fun to tell people they have cancer and AIDS and DIAF. Sure. But don't be surprised when the flip side happens. People are repelled. This may be fine for some people, but if you're organizing an event it could be a problem.

Edit: I realize that I am adding to the distraction from the speakers, so I will now shut my own piehole.

Ahem. I beg to differ. Lots of media, including Bryan Seymore from Australia and the guy from Scn's Freedom Magazine.

Yeah, but Failboat will disagree because our event was only 2 days at the most.

Never mind that in those 2 days, we had 5 times as many people & media than that of Flag Down. FD had a great opportunity to be a world class event & Laura (amaX, Anonomon, et. al) blew it.

Mark Bunker & Tom Smith are not the only ones told they were not invited & those individuals had zero to do with the injunction.
Let us, for a moment at least, leave aside Mark Bunker where we disagree.

If Laura excluded Tom Smith from attending merely because she didn't like him, I would say that was inappropriate and, indeed, wrong.

If Laura excluded others from attending for no good reason, and merely because she didn't like them, I would say that was inappropriate and wrong. Although I have seen statements to the effect that others were excluded for no good reason, but I haven't seen any specific names, purported reasons, or facts.

1) Of course not! 2) and

Just asking you and everyone else to stop chatting on it for now. Not for Laura's sake - for the others and for the sake of supporting them and getting whatever good we can out of this, despite the rough start.

It still has the chance to be a great event. The speakers have been terrific and I'm sure they are having a great time. Some of the funnest people I've ever met are there at Flagdown - Burythenuts, De Elizabethan and TheHoleDoesNotExist for starters. I'm sure they probably contributed to the preparations also. They were wonderful hosts when I went down there - I had an unforgettable time - the time of my life. Laura isn't the only one contributing to hosting events - I know that TheHoleDoesNotExist is organising something. I think they could use our support now.
