Yeah, I noticed this, too. It's the closest Rinder has come so far, as far as I can see, to saying that Scientology, even as 'a subject' as opposed to 'the Church', is a road to nowhere.
I've actually been impressed that Rinder's blog is not about Mike Rinder's own spiritual journey, or whatever. In contrast to Marty Rathbun's tendency to grandstand, Rinder seems focused and professional, documenting abuses and failures, not talking about himself. He does not appear at all to be setting himself up to be an Indy leader. For that very reason, I think, he has a lot of respect.
His own current views about Scientology would in fact be interesting. Not as a permanent topic, but as one item worth covering. Rinder was an OSA operative (and leader, as I understand), rather than an auditor, so maybe he's just not such a reflective guy. Maybe he always just kind of shrugged and did what he considered his job to be. Maybe that's the only reason his blog has been so impersonal. But still I seem to see a bit of a trend there lately, towards a somewhat more negative tilt about Scientology and Hubbard, and not just about the CofS and David Miscavige.
Not everybody has to be a philosopher. The world needs people who just get stuff done. But that makes it all the worse, when a bad philosophy sucks people into doing the wrong stuff, and thinking it's right.
