Can I get Spiritual Upgrades?

Upgrades are all the rage. Or should I say that Corporate Business says upgrades are the order of the day.
There's money to be made. We should all upgrade. Up is a good place. Grades are good things. So upgrades are good.

Scientoology has had upgrades since it's inception. And is constantly manufacturing more.

Many religions don't sell upgrades.

My question is: Can I get spiritually upgraded?

Upgrades are on offer, apparently.

You can find spiritual upgrades wherever you want to, and they won't cost you one single penny. Just open your heart and your mind and take a walk through a forest near you - or get on stage and jam with a bunch of people you've never met before - or just generally do what you enjoy doing. Bang, there is your instant spiritual upgrade. :)

Yes, my son, enlightenment can be yours.

Clearly you are burdened by your material wealth.

Jesus said that it is easier for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for him to reach the kingdom of God.

All you need to do is to sell all your material possessions and send me a cheque for your entire bank balance.

Make it payable to "I Con U enterprises"
at "Never Never Land, GX12 3BZ, United Kingdom"

Once the cheque clears, enlightenment will soon follow.

Since I left da kult, I prefer to think more in terms of Buddhist phrasing- enlightenment. I think life is a journey and that we can do more as beings and become more enlightened. I think that is a matter of degree. Seems that Hubbard cribbed and then changed this very concept but now the Buddhism mindset makes more sense to me.

I also think that one should enjoy the journey and revel in the fact that one is not perfect and does not know it all, because learning is fun. Having something to aim for is life affirming.

I think the actual Bible verse says that it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter... (blah blah blah). Which means that it's even more imperative that he sends you his money! 'Cause a camel is bigger than a rich man!..
That is unless Jesus was referring to a cigarette passing through it. :confused2:

If you have a Buddhist mindset how can you learn?

Good question!

A buddhist practitionner doesn't learn, neither get spiritual betterment or grades.
He only practices his mind to be aware, and thus to know what there is to know, and it start with 3 deep breaths!

ex: gratefulness is one the the most powerfull practice to know a, be happy , avoid any unecessary suffering!

Spiritual betterment or learning is a concept I find funny! Especially since I got the wake up call at my $camology delluded ego upgrage quest - 20 years ago

Enlightenment is there, yes, right there within you. Find it. Is called "meditation", "following the path within", etc. There are many, many thingies to do in meditation, the universe is built so that all eventually find their own inner path. Intuition, my friend, intuition. Shhh...there, feel it?

Get a Buddhist bowl and stroke it, strike it, listen....

I was taught in Sunday school that the Bible was referring to a gate in the city wall called the needle eye gate. All packs had to be removed from the camel and they had to get on their knees to get through.

Nowhere to go. Nothing to find. No external upgrade needed. No external journey to take. Nothing to seek. Perfection resides within, amidst the imperfection.

Home. In the silence, in the stillness. In the heart. The greatest battle is within. The external noise, the external chaos, is a distraction. Addiction to the attachment of the external is delicious, and the clinging to the internal noise is even more delicious. Letting it all go takes time and patience and love. And vast gratitude for all of it.

Words cannot describe this. It is a feeling - a connection to something beyond words. I fail each and every time I attempt to find the words. Which makes message boards challenging. :)

I'm not quite sure why, but the phrase 'They would say that wouldn't they', springs to mind.

Sorry, spiritual upgrades are not currently available, however COB is actively researching them,
along with their pricing structure, and these upgrades should be ready for Golden Age of Tech IV.

So, better start saving up, or see an upgrade consultant who will show you how to raise your
FICO score. :wink2:

Mmmm...I kinda feel like I'm learning some things from it. In an intuitive sort of way; not a lessony way. And since enlightenment is very much part of what they talk about in Buddhism, to me, that does elicit spiritual betterment. Certainly not in the way Scn claims to want to do, though.

If that is what God had meant then he would have said so.
I didn't say I necessarily agreed with it. That's just what I was taught. I tend not to take the Bible literally and try to glean the meaning out of it. To me it means it is very hard for a rich man to get into heaven. I also did this with Hubbards writings which may have been what drove me nearly insane as there is so many contradictions in them that it is impossible to get what he means. About the time you get your "stable datum" figured out he says something which is diametrically opposed to it.

Is not the Golden Age of Tech 2 the upgrade we have been waiting our eternity for?

Available at any Ideal Org near you, for full price!!!

There's your upgrade.
