I'll just leave this here. I found it very interesting, and Marty's post today (which is related) sickening.

http://caliwog.wordpress.com/2010/11/02/aaron-saxton-on-the-scientology-mindset/#comments

In this post Aaron said:

Even Scientology’s biggest critics in Australia still sit there working out how they will go OT and working out how to find another path to eternal memory and life.

They are the saddest people

To which Scooter replied (on the blog):

Good to see you back and swinging (and connecting) again, Aaron.

I have a slightly different take on the M & M show to you but I’m certainly in agreement with what you say about the non-recovery of intelligence due to false beliefs and self-delusion.

The only thing I take exception to is this:

“Even Scientology’s biggest critics in Australia still sit there working out how they will go OT and working out how to find another path to eternal memory and life.”

From where I sit, the majority of us here DON’T. Nor will we ever. Period.

Just because I and others don’t run a full-frontal attack on every aspect of the toxic cult, that doesn’t mean we agree with it in any way. I personally find the whole package a vicious trap.

But it took me at least a year “out” before I could begin to see that.

For some (as you detail above), they will probably go their graves never really looking at the trap, nor its components.

So I tend to be gentle with them. As you said, if they had to look at how wrong they’ve been, it’d kill them.

And so the need for “baby-steps” when handling them.

Because, for me at least, they are still human beings and deserve some attempt at rescue. Because we were where they’re at once too, remember?

Keep up the fight, mate. I’ve missed your imput. :)

Aaron didn't reply to Scooter on the blog. Instead he emailed Scooter instead. Scooter posted this on WWP today:

http://forums.whyweprotest.net/331-zomg-drama/tinydancer-tinydancer-tinydancer-73277/25/#post1351741

I replied to his rant on Caliwog's blog and got an email from him asking me to

"perhaps the ESMBers (like yourself) could (politely) fuck off Caliwog?"

This was before he went on to attack Kev about his daughter.

Aaron, get yourself some help.

I don't know ANYONE who sees more good in people than Paul Schofield. He has maintained nothing but friendly and supportive communication with Aaron even when the rest of the Oz "crew" were screaming at his idiocy.

Paul is right. Aaron needs to get some professional help. He is a liability to himself as well as others.

I personally think he's irrelevant.

He definately has his "CMO SO scathing contempt" valence intact. A true "product" of the SO "made in the mold of a Messenger" machine.

A real whack job...never to be trusted.

Emma, I think he is freakin' dangerous.

I don't know about dangerous, but he's certainly damaged.

He's understandably having a hard time dealing with what he did for the cult while he was in the cult, and what the cult did to him.

He has a long way to go before he gets over being a victim, and takes his life back.

If he doesn't let go of that anger, and " get into present time" , his anger will consume him.

He's still trapped in the game of Scientology and doesn't even know it

And that, I think, is what makes him relevant.

Caliwog, this might be offtopic and I hope you aren't offended by the question.

Why do you sign off with the very Scientological "ML"? Is this just a "left over" from being in Scn?

No offense taken whatsoever. I've actually been meaning to write a blog entry about this for a year now.

I picked up "ML" when I first started working at a WISE company. I used it sarcastically a couple of times when I first started posting as Caliwog, because I had a bit of a cynical view about it (some very un-lovable stuff came across with the signature "love" or "much love"). Then, when I started writing my blog, I began using it all the time as a bit of an in-joke for exes as well as an indicator to Scns that I have some familiarity with the topic.

It sill serves those purposes, but I also now consider it a reminder that whatever I say, even if it sounds angry or if it rubs someone the wrong way, that I mean it out of love and concern for everyone - my fellow protesters and anti-Scientologists as well as those who are still "in." And I should add that it's not just a reminder for people reading... it's a reminder for me, as well. If I write something and it doesn't feel like it deserves an "ML" signature, then I need to rethink and rewrite.

Aaron namefagged TinyDancer, was rude to Scooter, made vicious statements about Feral and his disabled child, and tried to get Marky Rathbun to state which ips were correct and incorrect - as if he was entitled to having confidential information - info only CoS would want to know. These things alone show that the guy is dangerous, disloyal and has criminal tendencies for not being honest and upfront at the start about the monies and things he claimed to take credit for that he did not do without the help of others.

Caliwog is a fool for letting him post, despite knowing all this.

If you had said, "made in the image of David Miscavige", I think it would be more accurate. It's a really neat trick he has of overwriting his personality over the top of most everyone working for him:

Agent Smith Clones Himself

It's pretty sad, really.

If you're making a short list, I'd add to it: Attacking Carmel's character at a protest, and using a megaphone to make sure it was heard by all.

Aaron [list of crimes]. Caliwog is a fool for letting him post, despite knowing all this.

Caliwog has never claimed not to be a fool. :) I've discussed much of this on WWP and won't repeat it all here, but the bottom line is that regardless of his bad behavior, he's also done some fantastic things for the protest movement, including being open and candid about the horrible things he did as part of the Church's management structure. Few exes have bared their soul in the way he has. Aaron is one of the best illustrations we have of what happens when Scientology truly gets its meat-hooks into a person.

I realize (now) that Aaron has created some controversy, and as I said on WWP, I should have watched the comments a little closer. I won't censor like Marty does, I occasionally redact, but most commonly I just ask people to calm down, and they usually listen (even Aaron). Regardless, I am proud of the four articles that Aaron has written on my site.

Clearly, Aaron has been crossed off a few people's Christmas lists. He's made enemies on WWP, where the mindset is much more anti-LRH. Regardless, just because you don't like someone doesn't mean that everything they have to say is irrelevant. I refer you, as I did on WWP, to Jeff Hawkins' excellent article Black and White Thinking.

Sneakster suggested that Aaron is made in the mold of David Miscavige, and you know what? He's right. He became exactly the type of person Scientology tech tries to create - cause, intention, greatest good, the whole shootin' match. I agree, Sneakster, it really is pretty sad. I'm glad he's gotten away from that, and I understand his anger. If I were in the same situation as him, I'm sure I'd show a lack of grace at times as well.

Who needs merits?
By now I've canceled 4 different posts about Aaron, because none of them felt right, but here's a thought that feels right to me: He's a child. A child, who, relatively recently and after a very long period of extreme suppression, has discovered 2 things: Emotions and the concept of "I".

Kids at that stage are (or at least can be) emotionally unreliable and occasionally a danger for others as well as themselves.

Nobody would let a 4-year-old alone with an advanced technical tool, e.g. a chainsaw (engine running). Aaron looks like a grown man, so people entrust him some "advanced tools" (e.g. the donations or the info about TD) and even try to build up a grown up relationship with him. Doesn't work that way. Not yet.

Aaron is emotionally unstable and should not be entrusted with advanced tools of any kind without supervision. Because: He is a child. Children need love. Children need someone they can trust. After a life-long career in SO and OSA, whom would he trust?

This kid has just made the 1st steps into life, just give him time and if you have the opportunity to do so, teach him how to handle some of the many advanced tools out there. Try not to disappoint him, make it clear what he can expect from you, and don't allow him too many shenanigans. He's a kid.

I know I will heed my own advice, if I ever get the opportunity to do so. Or at least I'll try.

Let's see what he discovers next.

Wow. He says that the entire enquiry depended solely upon him.

Yeah. Weird that he wasn't invited to speak at the hearings. Weirder still that the whole senate inquiry was a huge success while he was hiding out in America avoiding the court dates he had previously accepted donos to attend and fight.
