I think Peter and Malin went off to work at Flag. Lost track of them. I believe Monica went to Int, but haven't heard anything about her recently. Myles Mellor was in the PAC RPF with me in 1996, but I met him at a 2001 Xmas party after he had routed out. He is now a famous specialist crossword compiler (Google him).

And also I recall an 'important' guy from a German org, Uli Buller might be the name, who came with his girlfriend Hermina who was incredibly beautiful. Everyone lusted after her including my boyfriend at the time, who said he had to have her as his auditor because 'her TRs were so good'. I do wonder how come Hermina got to come to England and train all the way up from HQS onwards at the German org's expense.

I also remember another wierd little thing. Carol's stats were flatlining, which was unheard of. She had a student on her SHSBC, a very nice quiet guy, who had been there for ever, and he had a thing about using highlighter pen on his course notes. He'd been doing it for the entire time, all his materials were marked this way. She made him stop! She said she'd had a blinding realisation that he was wasting lots of time doing that. She was so happy, and her stats went up again. What that poor guy thought of it I don't know.

I knew Malin at Flag in 1988. She gave me this poem:

You lazy afternoon
I want to keep you
With your soft blue sky
And busy swallows
Make you linger
Like a dream forever

And this one:

It was the way
You moved your head
To look at me
As if you knew
I would be there
How could I resist?

These were poems she had previously written and was later sharing with me. She did not write them for me.

She was invited to go to Int to audit. I told her, sure go, the top execs at Int deserve the best. I don't think she went. I hope not.

I knew Miles and Jose from 1 St Hill Green in 1975. He had a sharp intelligence.

Yes - interestingly, I have surprised myself by how much I liked all of the people I have remembered, even the ones who behaved badly to me because of their role in the organisation. I can hardly blame them for being messed up by their own indoctrination. I think we were a bunch of good people going in a bad direction.

Kulie, what I have just realised is that at class4 org level I knew people and liked them, at SO level there were very few people and many 'hats'. I actually talked to people as people very very little in the sea org. You might talk about liking oranges more than apples to other sea org members, but there's no discussions about the latest exhibition or talk about Gilbert and George's latest work. There's no me time, no great works of art have been produced by Sea Org members that I have ever seen, no novels, no plays, no concerto, no innovation.

I really stopped being a human being when I put that uniform on.

Wow. Do you think maybe I'm just looking thru rose tinted specs and remembering only the good stuff? It is possible.

I was never in a uniform, and I didn't know the top people at SH or London well, so I didn't chat on a daily basis with them, and you're right, we were totally focussed on some wanky interior life rather than creating something beautiful and worthwhile - but I'm just talking about the essence of humanity in the people I remember. I remember quite a lot of humour, sharing, and fun in the lower ranks.
 
Kulie, there were some fine people and I don't think your specs were necessarily pink, it's just that at the CLO level personalities disappear and stats take over.

Actually one of the things that annoyed 'them up there' about Hoppy was that he wanted to have space for the crew to use as studio space, he wanted to play his Flamenco guitar and encouraged time off. There was a mission de-stressing the CLO, but he also walked around in uniform looking quite formidable, he wasn't the sort of boss you'd feel equal with. That was the SO uniform talking.

Actually there was no room for frying other fish, the Birthday Game took over and his 'reasonable' attitude went out of favour, libs stopped and stats were pushed Hoppy was removed and things went back to normal. I think it was then that Harvey Jacques became the UK tyrant, really I'm not too sure of sequences here, I was getting quite confused by then. One minute it was expected to have eight hours sleep every night, the next it was unnecessary to sleep at all.:no:

I do get that; I had a period of all-night letter writing at SH, but I guess I was lucky in that I was a customer in '74, and not SO until '75 down at AOSH, so I missed the worst.

Interesting. I was very briefly Hoppy's junior for about the 10 days I lasted as ED london day. Only had one meeting with him, a pleasant lunch,
no heavy anything from him. It was shortly afterwards he left St Hill. Although he could be a tough CO I never heard anything but praise for him,
including his time as CO Lnd F.

What was this mission " de-stressing" the CLO? I never heard of such a thing.
 
Hi Terril it was sort of the anti dote for the B of B maybe. There was a Msn from Flag? Int maybe? they did fitness boards and threw some people out, suddenly it went from six people in small cell to 2. We were encouraged to make our spaces homely. We had inspections but it was all nice. This was when when we were in St Mary's Rottingdean. Then we were shuffled around and some people reposted and everything seemed like heaven for a very short time. Next minute we had to move to Saint Hill, the CMO did too, it seemed like a hundred people to a small room and no heating, beans rice and gruel.

I am sure it's been mentioned here before.

I met Harvey when he first came on lines in Manchester. He was rather harmless and sleepy then.

I met him on a bus in rush hour a few years later and it was embarassing and hard work spending a 3 or 4 mile journey parring his "why don't you come into the org and get handled ? " Other passengers on the bus seemed aware of his determination. I like to think that they recognized my equal determination in telling him that he would not be seeing me in his presence or anyone else's at the org.

Thinking about my two young children ( at the time ) kept me strong.

I only recently found out what a big wig he had become in the states on you tube over Christmas. I think I had audited him on Dianetics in Manchester. See what a good auditor I was!
 
OMG Teadreamer, it's all your fault! I do expect am immense amends project.

He and Craig Mattieson emptied my account of thousands of pounds worth of services so I could have books I've never even opened. Standing up to him was like standing up to a tidal wave when you've a hangover, and your arms are tied to your feet. I lost! He talked to me as if I was out ethics because I had services paid for when I was in the SO. I had no right to have services. He has a natural ability to make you feel like a bacterium.

I do vaguely remember him as a new Sea Org member, he was different lets put it that way. His wife was really sweet, very quiet and cowed. I can't remember what happened to her, if she left or died. I felt so sorry for her.

I can honestly say that he's someone I would never hope to meet again. I'm sure there's plenty that feel the same way at flag right at this minute.
 
I can't remember Mrs Jacques's name.

That was nothing, when he was CO UK I had to listen to him talking to the Org's ED's, that was horrendous pure hatred and invalidation and as loud as a landing jet. Craig was a real pussy cat in comparison, actually I think he was a nice chap. It was good cop bad cop and tons of book commission.
