Wondering who you guys are, and who I know.
Late 70's.
Various Divs. It's just revoltingly ridiculous.
And long ago.
But I do find the whole thing regrettable and embarassing and
stupid. But, have moved on. There are lots of nice people, and
some jerks. Youthfully deluded, and amazingly I know that some
are lifers.

10 years. Too bad. Not as bad as some though.
I saw some names that are still in. It's too much to ask some of those people to get out. Facing that your entire adult life was a financially draining, delusional waste of time would be very hard to take.
Do you know what became of David Scimemi?

I was public from '82, then on & off public only until mid-'90's so we probably don't know each other.

I have a vague recollection of Dave Scimemi. He was an auditor?

I believe he was declared but have no idea why.
 
Dave Scimemi

Dave was one of the most lovable sleezes one could ever know.

He held the record for the most well done auditing hours in a week and probably still does. Sometimes, his hygiene might suffer but that was part of his charm.

I think he got up to 105 hours in a week. Needless to say, he was a very efficient auditor and much loved by the DofP.

I have no idea where he is and if we met for lunch, I have no doubt that it would be a liquid lunch that I'd be picking up the tab for.

I miss him. A very charming man.

I saw my life pass before my eyes once on a motorcycle ride with David.
Would like to know what became of him. Google doesn't know.

Go to zaba search and put in David Scimemi. There's one in New Hampshire,
aged 61. Sounds like it could be him.

Dave told me about a time when he lost of control of his motorcycle on Storrow Drive and he was actually flying through the air at 55 miles an hour not attached to anything and the thought crossed his mind that this wasn't so bad...yet.:whistling:
 
Dave and the "2D"

Dave was always in 2D trouble.

One time the GO decided his behavior was at risk on the 4th dynamic and that Dave would have to CSW for any 2D activities he had planned. The next morning the DG Bsn had 18 CSW's on his desk.

California Association of Dianetic Auditors. Started in around 1952 or so. Never involved with the Church of Scientology. Still exists.
 
Ideal Org

The Boston Ideal Org Apr 2011

They are demolishing the building beside the org. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ideal Org is next. The building has been condemned and thus the Cyclone fence on the outside. Note the boarded up windows on the four floors above the ground floor.

The neighborhood is improving so if they were looking for a real estate investment, it will probably work out. Odd that they cos would select a neighborhood which is on the edge of Roxbury which is Boston's version of Harlem. Not a safe area at night and virtually no parking during the day. 2 blocks from the methodone clinic--lots of homeless people. Yet also 2 blocks from BU Medical Center.

It's a bizarre property in that it's an historic hotel of sorts but is falling down and will require a great deal of money to put it into usable condition.

Yes, but when you have people willing to donate their hard earned money and others to provide slave labor then this makes it much easier.
 
Free labor can make up for a lot but if you need a roof or plumbing or windows or doors or electrical work, you need money. We'll see. I can only think that the plan was to refurb the new purchase with money from the sale of the older building. Frankly, the new locale is nuts. Maybe someone can enlighten me on the choice, I'm baffled.

Then again, stupid managers do stupid thing and maybe that's all there is to the mystery.
 
OH, good old Dave Scimemi. He was already off staff when I came around. But stories about him were epic. The drinking, the sex, the flying off Storrow Drive in the car. He was the Bad Boy of Boston. :)

His final downfall was when he was found guilty of having a 2D with one of his pcs. This got transformed over the years into a sort of myth about him getting oral sex from his pc while in session, which was not the case. Though I seem to recall he did admit that there was some action in the auditing room.

We got him back on lines a few times throughout the 80's and 90's. I became really good friends with him for a while. He'd call me up at night half in the bag and we'd have these long conversations half the evening while I was pretending to do "call in". :)

He was in NH last I knew and had married a Christian woman who had a kid. I'm pretty sure I saw some photos of him in one of those ideal org promo pieces posted on here a year or two ago - maybe earlier in this very thread. Looked like he was attending some fundraising event and had paid something.
