yeah, I would. Is her daughter still in the SO? Is she still married? Is she an OSA go and fetch. Does she still think she is the reason IAS events do well in Boston?

I will do my rant on her later Freethinker. Rachel is in the SO. Fran is married to Craig McKay who recently finished OTVII. Fran has been off staff since around 2000. She was completely unable to do the GAT I retrain. I heard of epic meltdowns in the courseroom lol. I am sure that we can all appreciate some good schadenfruede when it comes to Fran. She was/is very active in the ideal org fundraising I think primarily because of the 10% commission. I have no idea what that supressive poseur thinks although I do know that she has bad mouthed me to several of my friends at Flag.

Back during the early 80's when I was around, Fran was married to Carl Bredemeier.

Whatever happened with him? Is he still in?

Fran is married to Craig & they reside in Randolph, MA.

Last know whereabouts of Carl Bredemeier is that he's working at the LA Celeb Center. He would be 66 years old now.

That is not their daughter. Her name is Rachel and she is in the SO. Rather shockingly to me, just last week someone named Rachel McKay posted a comment on Rinder's blog so I did do some internet snooping on the McKays. Don't think that it's their daughter posting.

Wow, I was around back then (early '80's). I remember when Fran first came into the org all meek and introverted as raw public. Carl was the basic course room sup -- I was there at the time, too. That must have been when they hooked up and eventually got married. Carl was doing tree cutting/removal work at the time and had a fall and broke his foot. He was getting around the org on crutches. Because of the accident he determined that he was PTS to Fran so they got divorced. Shortly thereafter I remember he joined the SO and was gone.

Then Fran met Stan. Fran married Stan. Wow, I couldn't Stan(d) him. :) As a public I had a few interactions with him whatever his post was. I thought he came across as harsh with absolutely no sense of humor. Maybe, just maybe, I saw him smile once. Maybe it was half a smile.

By the time Fran got on to the next guy (was it McKay or someone else in between?) I was practically out the door.

Sorry too early for me. I was surprised when I heard that she was married to Stan Booth lol. Don't have any info on Carl Bredemeier.

WHAT? MARRIED to STAN FREAKING BOOTH? I would never have guessed it. I knew him as a Sea Org dude sent to Boston for whatever reason. Maybe "FLAG Rep"? A renos guy, too. I liked him a lot, but yes, he was very, very serious. That's what I liked about him. I had two sides to me. Mad joker/stoner/tripper, and hard-core PRODUCER. It was kinda random which one I was on a given day, and still is. Stan loved me when I was a producer. He tried hard to help me overcome the "no LSD" prohibition for entry into the SO, because I was seriously gung ho to join. I cannot imagine him actually getting married to anyone. I barely remember Fran. I think she was the PES when I left, but I never knew her at all. The only McKay I knew was Craig, who worked on Foundation staff sometimes, and was the first person to express that he was a Clear to me and to tell me in his own words what that meant to him. I liked that guy.

Bambino... that word strikes a memory! Tony Chrambanis used to call me that all the time. I'm Kevin Brady. I was there in 1988-1990, was married to Nitza Brady, later Nitza Freeman. If you were there, then, we probably knew each other.

Of course we know each other Kev, I pmed you when I first came on the message board. Stan Booth has been being the advance man for ASHO events for decades. About ten years ago a real change happened with him and he became very very good natured. He is funny and he actually is always a tremendous help to the Org when he is around rather than a giant distraction. Kevin I suspect you are confusing Fran with Lynne Orlando (Box) who was the PES Fnd at that time.

This woman is a fake and is just working nonstop to not be found out.

as an added note Linda worked for the GO in NY back in the day and was involved with the whole Paulette Cooper mindfuck.

A total fake and working hard not to be found out for sure.

And I had no idea she was part of the Paulette situation. Wow...

I fuckin hate her.

Oh, right, sorry! I should put down the :bong:

Maybe I just had the post wrong. Anyway, thanks for clearing (tm) that up.

Ah, my two "favorite" people ranted about in the last couple pages. Fran McKay and Gerard Renna. In my experience, the two craziest, actually evil people I ever dealt with in the org, or anywhere, any time in my life otherwise.

When I came on lines in 84, Fran was at Flag, training. Carl Bredemeier was the Cope Officer. They were already long divorced. A few months in he went to the CLO for a comm ev which resulted in a recruit cycle which resulted in him being in the Sea Org. Fran came back a few months later and became Snr CS. I thought she was cool at first and we got along well. But it didn't take long before she started going totally psycho. She married Stan Booth who was the Flag Rep. Quicky wedding and one-night-stand honeymoon because Stan was going off on a mission somewhere the next day. I attended the wedding. All 5 minutes of it before they rushed off to consummate. I don't think the marriage lasted 6 months.

Fran had been institutionalized and had received psych drugs and per any interpretation of policy was an illegal pc and unqualified for staff. About once every year or two this would come to light and be noticed by someone in the SO and they'd try to remove her. And I would always get down on my knees and pray (figuratively). But somehow she always managed to dodge the bullet and stay on staff. And take revenge out on whoever at the org had believed that she was illegal.

She married Craig who was a really nice guy. Meek and mild. I always felt sorry for him. But she seemed always to treat him very nicely, unlike the rest of humanity, which she hated.

Gerard was just a psycho, illiterate, North End mafioso wannabe. My dealings with him were shorter, just the period of time when he was the ED and Heather was D/ED. But that was enough.

I never had much dealings with Linda Colburn, as she was on Day and I was on Fdn. But I did get tricked into showing up somewhere for a "recovery cycle" about 5 years after I was out. It was rather humorous. She wanted to put me on the meter. I laughed. We talked for a while. I politely declined all offers of "help". It's funny when you are really out and disconnected from all that, how pitiful some of these people seem. She just looked to be a really unhealthy, kind of sad figure to me. I couldn't even get mad at her.

Bambino, you never cease to impress me with your clearly couched comments. Keep 'em coming!!!!

Carl Bredemiere was Acad Sup before the orgs split back in ?'76. He was thoroughly gung ho. I didn't see him much after ? '82 and wondered why he and Fran broke up. As a tree surgeon, I believe he suffered a compound fracture in his tibia. Later, after he recovered, the butt of a log hit him square in the cheek and I'm pretty sure it was majorly broken. He was unfailingly nice but like most of us could only tolerate so much. He just loved Scientology.

I knew Fran vaguely before she was in. I think she took to Scientology like a fish to water. She's a tough New Yorker and found a place which matched her huge personality. And she's got a ton of personality! Fran and Devries sold a ton of books--no small feat! I recall a horsy-in-your-face here's-the-story-pal type who had some interesting insights. I can't remember her maiden name. I wouldn't want to cross her. She's typical of the Scientology trained super-egotists. The COS IS a cult and once you spend time at the "cultists only" enclaves of FLEUS or Flag or LA's compound as staff you become indoctrinated to give and take a ton of shit. If you don't learn the nasty cult behavior, you're sent home in disgrace. Too bad that vicious behavior is a cultural norm.

Sure, Fran was or is a bitch on wheels but it's a learned behavior. She's also completely sold on the works of LRH which is a bigger problem.

Too bad the COS couldn't channel that energy into something beneficial. But, then again, that's Scientology.

It's trained behavior, sure. But I knew plenty... many, MANY people who had been in a lot longer than her in positions of more power and were really great, nice, lovable people. Not everyone was vicious. Some played the vicious game because, like you said, they had to. Others grabbed onto it like a kid on candy. Scientology didn't make Fran what she was, it just magnified it.

Anyway, that's my opinion. Still bitter. Must need some auditing. ;)

BTW, maiden name was Ackerman.

First person that comes to mind for me is Jan Bowman. She had such a good heart, despite the negativity around her.

It's important to celebrate the good people, which often gets lost in the bitterness of the damage of the cult.

For me, there was David Aden, who was always very good to me (which might surprise people). Even after I was declared. Maggie Magerowski, as well, was a doll and extremely good to me. And I really liked a guy named Joe Fiore, who many people might not have met, but he was a good dude.

I only dealt with Fran on a friendly basis. It's hard for me to demonize a Scientologist who never gave me any crap. On the other hand, there were many who abused me and I'm getting over my sense of resentment. I'm more bothered by the limited view of the world I adopted after my Scieno indoctrination.

I don't judge people by their stats or TR's as much. In fact, I spend a lot less time focussing on the shortcomings of others in terms of their "chronic tone".

All the judgemental tricks, charts, scales, labels and categories that the COS handed out gave me a holier-than-though view of others. The focus of the COS should have always been on empowering YOU, helping YOU, to have a better life with better friendships, better income, better family life and better health. The Scientology I came to know was about overts and withholds and conspiracies and the psychs and condition formulas and ethics and stats and products and Thursday at 2. AND beans and rice and all hands.

There were nasty people at the Boston org every year I was there. Blaming is the club sport. Demonization is always part of the agenda. SRA's. Ripping him/her a new asshole. Yuk. You're only as good as last week's stats. OMG. What a nut house (but don't tell anyone or you'll end up in ethics).

I'd love to see a REAL reunion of the Scientologists of Boston, especially exes.

I totally agree. I did some twinning with her on course when we were both public. (Fortunately, I never was on staff.) My long distant memory has Jan as kind and big-hearted even after joining staff as well. As John Smith's sister I'm guessing it was he that got her to move to Boston to start Scn.

I'm down. :) I think we started to talk about possibly at Gillians for some billiards and beers?

I somewhat agree but not really. Scientology and the culture from uplines may have exacerbated evil tendencies but I still hold each of these assholes personally responsible for their actions. E.g. Fran McKay vs John Magerowski as Snr C/S. Hey this is a fun game! Who ya got? Mary Smith or Bobby Peiniadz? Jan Mageroswki (Borowski) or Jan Bowman (Smith)? Marissa Shepherd or Jean Gordon? Thurmen Silks or Nanette Ciano (Gramolini)? Cindy Massi or Mark Boucher? My point is that in each of these pairings I have seen the latter individuals almost unfailingly be kind and caring of the people they dealt with even in spite of sometimes intense pressure from the org.

Jan Bowman moved to Boston via LA so that Mary Smith could have a nanny while doing her OEC in LA. It was very fucked up. She also had resources as a long time teacher and was immediately closed to give rather large personal loans to the likes of Nan Goodwin and other execs who were facing eviction etc.
