Way too cute a pun to leave out!Just got directed to this thread and read over it. I want to make a lot of comments, even as old as this thread is, 'cause it's still relevant. This is a great thread, IMHO, and I want to bump it up for the perusal of our many new arrivals.
So, Gizmo, you and I are on the same page, but I'd like to take a different interpretation of Exes who want to other Exes to know they were/are Class Umpteen Auditor and OT XXX (Ability to Imbue Intoxication at Will).
Some possibilities are:
(1) They're proud of having achieved these high levels of arcane knowledge, ability, and Thetanic Power. (Least likely, IMO, given the venue.)
(2) They're proud of demonstrating the will and fortitude of sticking it out, even though they eventually cogged on the uselessness of what they achieved. Sort of like the person being proud of making the finest buggy whips long after they became obsolete. Not a great analogy 'cause buggy whips were actually useful at one time, but the current irrelevance holds...(A plausible possibility)
(3) They want the board to know that they've been there, they don't need some newbie telling them what it's about, they left because they knew more, not because they knew less. If someone has questions about how the Church really operates behind the Public Façade, they are a source of inside first-hand experience.
I choose to consider this the most common reason Exes extol their credentials, and personally I appreciate the bona fides. My own experience, substantial compared to a Never-in or simple Public, is rather humble, compared to the real vets'.

Thinking about it today, I am thunderstruck by the simple fact that for 65 years (nearly 3/4 of a century!) Scientologists have been grinning and waiting for the first Clear or OT to happen. And it doesn't even faze them in the least that nobody has attained Clear or OT.
What degree of stupidity would it take for someone to wait 65 years and still not be able to conclude that the tech didn't work? LOL

What magnitude of deception, indoctrination & evil would a guru have to have in order to defraud and terrorize people into paying $500,000 each to get rid of things that don't even exist (reactive mind, implants, engrams, BTs, et al)?
NOTATION TO SELF: If I come back next lifetime as an evil, avaricious guru, after making my first $100M I should challenge the skeptics and entire scientific community to take any one of my "CLEARS" and scientifically test them! And I should offer $1,000,000 to any scientist who can prove that they still have a reactive mind. After nobody can do that, the people on this planet will know with absolute certainty that my bank-erasing technology really does work!

3 is definitely true for me. I wasted hour after hour reading and listening to that bullshit, and frankly, my english and memory were excellent BEFORE scamintology and I STILL remember way way way too much of that crap. I think I could almost run a model session from memory and I last said end of session almost a third of a century ago. I don't appreciate being told about sub HQS level training and how awesome it is just because I paid my dues on it years ago. Maybe I'm too sensitive about it, but really, gung ho fresh convert shit makes me cringe in matters other than scn as well.
The first time I clapped for LRH'S fat face in black and white, I knew it was bullshit and ignored it. Then there were all the "only reason that.........whatevers" that contradicted each other or became "the worst tangle" if you had all of the "only reasons" at the same time. Ah wtf, it's all bullshit. Nonstop. And the moment you call bullshit you go straight to ethics. And an honest doubt formula NEVER comes out in scn's favor, does it?

I did a couple of honest doubt formulas back in the day. When they didn't come out in the cult's favor, I was sent back to the room to write up more O/Ws. I eventually learned to keep my yap shut and get the "right" outcome.

Yup. I saw that over and over and over. Looking back on it, all my ethics trouble was because I asserted the truth and the truth was that LRH was wrong. I had enough math and physics to know he was full of shit about it. I was a good enough musician to know Power of Source was shit. I knew enough psychiatrists who were not pure evil to know that they weren't all what LRH said. Same with other MDs. I knew History of Man was bullshit from a biological perspective the first time I read it.
I know you know, sweetie. We had the same ethics officers and HAS's. Scott Taylor made sure they were all on the same page. Just like Paul in Qual and Fifi in Tech. Oddly, I liked both Scott and Fifi personally. Never did click with Paul.

It is rather disheartening for me that I remember so much scio BULLSHIT after being out for 30 fukcing years. I even find my self on occasion using a scio word here and there but only to myself not in front of non-scio folks. Recently I discovered that a fellow choir member used to be in scio and of course we have a lot of war stories to share. Even when we're talking about normal everyday stuff we'll sometimes use a scio word to relay a concept. Some may say this is a bad thing and we should avoid using scio lingo for mental health's sake. But I've attained Operating ESMB Level XI and have total cause over scio BS and can mock and unmock it at will. LOLOLOL

Over time, Scientology grafts a synthetic personality, "homo novus" on top of the individual's own personality.
Scientology teaches that shame, blame and regret are unwanted and undesirable feelings.
Mis-emotions, according to Hubbard are unwanted, bad emotions.
But are they?

I regret spending the 20 most vital years of my life in service to Scientology and Hubbard.
It is an entirely proper emotion, isn't it?
I blame Hubbard for creating a devious and destructive mindfuck that continues to trap thousands, that rips families apart, and bankrupts others.
I blame Hubbard and Scientology for the deaths which have resulted from its demonization of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Medical Science.
I blame Hubbard and Narconon for the deaths caused by the brazen quackery which masquerades as "treatment."
I believe that these, too, are proper and natural emotions. Necessary emotions.
As a Scientologist, I don't remember feeling shame.
But as I ultimately reached a point of understanding the true nature of my actions, the feelings of shame
washed over me in a deluge of emotion.
Once I became capable of feeling shame,
I was free of the bullshit of Scientology.

What a great thread! I'm glad it's popped back up on "Today's Posts" again, as that is how I check for latest news - and I'm sure a lot of newbies don't see important threads unless they are in the "Today's Posts" page.
BTW, my ultimate "bullshit moment" occurred when I saw too many OT's not manifesting Clear, let alone OT ability. You get to see a lot of that living in Flag's backyard (Clearwater).
These were people who were more diligent, more ethical, "better" Scn-ists than me. If they couldn't do it, then it was obvious, there was nothing to do..... except participate in a giant Circle Jerk with the only tangible goal being TOTAL BANKRUPTCY! And oh yeah, millions of dollars flowing up-lines into the Dwarf's pockets.
