Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview)

Re: Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview

If the Hubturd is correct, and Christianity comes about as the result of 'implants' that were electronically forced into the souls of murdered space-aliens, abducted to Earth and killed by exploding volcanoes...

Why would you give the ghost of a murdered space-alien an implant that would have no relevance for 75+ million years? It's only in the last 2,000 years (approximately) that Christianity has been relevant to those 'thetans'. The rest of the time, those 'implants' meant nothing. What kind of evil plot is that? A retarded one.

Just one more reason why Scientology's backstory is ludicrous... if any were needed.

Can you still be a Christian Scientologist? Only if you prefix it with 'deluded', I would think.

Very amusing, what thoughts came from someone lkke Hubbard who was friends with Satanists.

He had to deny Heaven as where he is, is much warmet.

Maybe instead of inveti.g his own false history he should have studied more. There is more histkrical fact Jesus existed than Julius Ceasar, and nk one doubts Ceasars existence.

Scientology and the Cult of COS is actually Anti-Christ and Anti-Christian! :grouch:

From the groundbreaking 1990 L.A. Times series of articles on Scientology by Times Staff Writers Joel Sappell and Robert W. Welkos, June 24, 1990:

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-scientologysidea062490,0,6116838.story

"What is Scientology?

"The painful experiences are called "engrams." Hubbard said some happen by accident -- from ancient planetary wars, for example -- while others are intentionally inflicted by other thetans who have gone bad and want power. In Scientology, these engrams are called "implants."

According to Hubbard, the bad thetans through the eons have electronically implanted other thetans with information intended to confuse them and make them forget the powers they inherently possess -- kind of a brainwashing procedure.

While Hubbard was not always precise about the origins of the implants, he was very clear about the impact.

"Implants," Hubbard said, "result in all varieties of illness, apathy, degradation, neurosis and insanity and are the principal cause of these in man."

Hubbard identified numerous implants that he said have occurred through the ages and that are addressed during Scientology courses aimed at neutralizing their harmful effects.

Hubbard maintained, for example, that the concept of a Christian heaven is the product of two implants dating back more than 43 trillion years. Heaven, he said, is a "false dream" and a "very painful lie" intended to direct thetans toward a non-existent goal and convince them they have only one life.

In reality, Hubbard said, there is no heaven and there was no Christ.

"The (implanted) symbol of a crucified Christ is very apt indeed," Hubbard said. "It's the symbol of a thetan betrayed."

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes S&L, i know all about the wild and wacky world of elron

and...

i also know the simple basic principles of auditing

i make good use of the latter and am unperturbed by the former

after all, as d'nazz informs us; "if it does not appear foolish it is not the true wisdom"

Re: Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview

I don't think he meant that Jesus didn't exist. I think he meant no Christ. Not the same thing.

If he really said "The man on the cross, there is no Christ" he was not denying that a guy named Jesus was crucified. He's saying Jesus was not the Christ. The Christos was "the anointed".

In any event, safe to say, Hubbard was not Christian and did not like Christianity and later adopted a cross as a logo of Scn and said it was pandenominational. Doesn't look too honest, does it.

There is nothing about Christianity that makes it incompatible with psychiatry. I can't really think of anything that DMSMH could help with save the emotional release when you toss it at the wall.

hoo boy!

as it happens, i know some very decent people who practice psychiatry including christians

however i don't think frying my father's brain with ECT was very christian

nor was the "treatment" i received when subjected to coerced drugging, brainwashing, beating, rape and other wonderful things which have made my life so interesting

Re: Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview

my position is simply the study and practice of auditing is OK for a christian

And my position is that a Christian will only become a "Christian Scientologist" when s/he is deceived up front about the true incompatibilities between Christianity and Scientology.

we can agree to disagree just fine, now then, do you disagree with that precise statement?

I disagree.

The study and practice of auditing is designed to lead a person to realize that Christianity is the result of implanted beliefs from aliens earlier on our whole track.

Did you not read the red on white Technical Bulletins that Hubbard wrote?

That stuff was written for auditors, case supervisors, etc. And it's not presented as opinion, it's presented as fact based upon scientific research.

Scientology is designed in such a way as to convert Christians into only Scientologists, to make them realize that Christianity is complete and utter BS.

Read this again Bird, and then maybe do a clay demo. :whistling:

The following is from "The Church of Spiritual Technology's Explanation to the IRS As To Why It Qualifies As a "Church" Described in Section 170(b)(1)(A)(i)." It was reprinted in the December 1993 (Vol. 8, No. 6) issue of The Exempt Organization Tax Review, a publication of Tax Analysts, Inc.

The magazine gives as its source "Response to Final Series of IRS Questions Prior to Recognition of Exemption of CST Under Section 501(c)(3) As a Church on October 1, 1993. "

Footnote 6: Although there is no policy or Scriptural mandate expressly requiring Scientologists to renounce other religious beliefs or membership in other churches, as a practical matter Scientologists are expected to and do become fully devoted to Scientology to the exclusion of other faiths. As Scientologists, they are required to look only to Scientology Scriptures for the answers to the fundamental questions of their existence and to seek enlightenment only from Scientology. Thus, a Scientologist who grew up in the Jewish faith who continues formal membership in his synagogue and attends services with his family violates no Scientology policy or tenet. On the other hand, such a person is not permitted to mix the practice of his former faith into his practice and understanding of Scientology so as to alter orthodox Scientology in any way.

Re: Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview

I'd say the belief in past lives doesn't fit in really well with conventional Christianity.

But at the end of the day, only the individual can decide how he or she wants to shape his or her own personal ideology.

Belief does not always fully correspond with logic. Nor, IMO, does it have to.

Yep, people can believe whatever they want to believe. I take no issue with that, as long as they aren't harming others.

But when people fraudulently misrepresent scientology as being compatible with Christianity with the intent of recruiting them into scientology, it IS harming others. And I do have a big problem with that.

i can read it and understand it

and it doesn't seem to hve had the intended effect on me

pitsy, i continue to use skills i developed inside CoS for the wellbeing of others

OK, it is so...

no...

one cannot be both a christian and a scientologist within the cited parameters

they expect christians and jews etc to "cognite" on scn as the ultimate truth

well...

it went the other way with me...

i didn't know how much of a christian i was back then. i am, among other things, a scientist and had mny rational doubts. and eventually it was nohig so much as sientology that made me realize how chritian i am

Re: Can You Be a Christian Scientologist? (Juliette Lewis Says YES in New Interview
