Signs of Surrender?

Is the cult of Scientology showing signs that they are surrendering and giving up the fight against the worldwide SP media?

At first I ignored it as an anomaly, when the COS (Crimewave of Scientology) got rid of Tommy Davis as the international spokesperson and replaced him with……..NOBODY! LOL. Now all they do is just release written denials by a faceless cult attorney. They are very likely the first billion dollar organization in the history of the world where every single one of their members is afraid to get up and speak in front of a camera.

But, then today I noticed something truly bizarre. I YouTubed "SCIENTOLOGY" and there wasn't one single cult link, website or banner that appeared on the front page. The first twenty (20) results were all anti-Scientology. Every single one of them! Here, take a look for yourself. . .

What is happening? Is the cult conceding defeat on the Internet?

Somehow, this doesn't seem like an example of "Total Cause Over Life". LOL

Oops, when i first posted that, i mis-typed Google instead of YouTube.

It appears they are still thrashing about on the Internet with Google, spending money and trying to convince people they aren't lying and committing fraud.

Google News is typically about 90% or more all anti-cult.

Is Google Search the cult's last great stand on the Internet--kind of like Berlin in the final days of WWII when Hitler plotted from inside an underground bunker to win the war with his magical beliefs?

The problem the cult faces is that their own websites are the 101,000th most viewed website worldwide according to ALEXA. And, possibly much of that traffic is simply people trying to satisfy their morbid curiosity about the "world's most disliked religion".

The Internet is total fail for the cult. I guess this validates Ron's statement that the tech doesn't work around suppression! LOL

Odd, I'm not getting any cult ads on google when I enter critic names or critic names plus Scientology. The only ad ai could ever get after several attempts was the standard church website ad when you google just the word Scientology.

Looks like their online ad budget disappeared. This SP bldg opening and lawyers' and PIs' billable hours must be draining all the cult money right now.

Google owns Youtube, if they have a deal with one I think they would have it with the other, no? I am sure to CoS PR video used to come up on the Tube as an Ad butt I can't confirm it, but my memory tells me to tell you.

Have been thinking about this for years.

In marketing you have to fill the vacuum. You have to get out there. You have to get in people's minds in a good way. You have to dominate "mind share" or "mental real estate" in your industry in a positive way. Otherwise someone else, a competitor, will fill the vacuum.

You don't do that by hiding, putting up big impenetrable walls, withdrawing, not getting in front of the microphone during a crisis, not speaking or blogging to your market in their language and constantly. And most importantly, you have to be a real person.

By having a siege mentality and hiding, DM and his COS are actually creating even more of a vacuum, a drawing back, a pulling in . . . which is being filled by others who aren't at all afraid of speaking out.

Critics, ex-members, news media, bloggers, book reviewers, documentary makers, and others are all filling the vacuum, not being afraid. In the end, right or wrong, they'll own the lion's share of the mind in this marketing battle of ideas.

Online, it all boils down to the size of your "Internet real estate footprint." How much space you command, the amount of live, changing web content. Here, critics and exes win hands down.

It's just so simple. Basic marketing in the real world today. :eyeroll:

It might just be a tweaked search engine algorythm. You were signed in to google/youtube. Past history reveals you prefer watching entheta to theta :p and thus you only get served the good stuff.
Try signing out of all your accounts and see what search results you get.

Good idea!

I signed out, tried again and got 10 results on the front page of GOOGLE NEWS.

1 was neutral, 1 was mixed (positive/negative) and the other 8 were negative.

I guess that is kind of "Total Cause Over LIfe" because the Internet is technically not really "Life". LOL

Searches for "Scientology" used to show up a ton of those awful TESTIMONIAL ADS with glowing Scientologist in closeup, using the ARC Triangle to mock up sounding like they believed a "normal person" would speak.

Then they would give their "hey-I'm-just-like-you-people!" pitch about how the tech saved them. The problem with those videos was that they were all eerily scripted and shot the same way so that after you saw a couple, you got creeped out at the calculated sameness.

And then there was that awful triumphant game show music playing throughout.

And the mocked up exhilaration.

And the ever-present mystery sandwich.

And the abysmally atrocious adjectives & analogies.

Just the standard cult-crazy.

I guess they scared wogs away because they are not using these videos any more.

Get ready to cringe………………...

I believe David Miscavige will not use the internet to "disseminate" any more. The few members left have been indocrinated to not look at the internet and he is all about "perserving" members at this point.
