Does Scientology marketing HAVE to lie to get results?

Tony O's current Sunday funnies has a story about Scientologist and SO member Geary Titus wanting to send Way To Happiness to all of his fellow Eagle Scouts. Now it is complete BS, since Geary is (or was) the solo folder admin/receptionist at the Flag AO. It is highly unlikely he dreamed this scheme up, but it is more likely some genius in marketing came up with it and culled the staff to find someone who was an Eagle Scout. Geary, who is a stand-up guy, and a SO member through and through, went along with it.

Why the hell do they have to lie? Since when has there been a Committee on Scouting on the Org Board? Why can't they be honest and just say "hey, we want to get TWTH to the scouts, how bout you chip in some $"? Why do they have to invent all of this BS?

Perhaps a reason for the lies is that for cult management, it's a cash cow. It's his ticket to money and power and the best chefs, suits, dwellings and so on.

Well, they can't tell the truth about that, right? That's what they want the members for. Their money and their time. So I think that's why you get the lies.

I'm guessin' that the other readers here already knew this and that I'm stating the obvious.

But, come on - how many Scio's are fooled by the BS? Why does it have to be disingenuous? People aren't idiots - they know damn well there is no such Committee. Doesn't it rub them the wrong way? One of the first things that ticked me off was, as a new staff member, they made me go to a book store along with some other staff and pretend to be reading DMSMH for a photo shoot for the Org magazine. I hated it, and hid out of camera sight till it was over.

Do they figure if they lie over and over long enough, someone will believe it?

It reminds me of the Lucky Airlines commercial from Putney Swope - the winning ticket gets you in the Lucky Room of the all the hot stews. Like that is ever going to happen.

The majority of Scientology marketing (aka as the "smoke and mirrors", the "dog and pony show" us low life's get - the Sell Ebbs get the love bombing and special handlers).

It is called propaganda in the "mind control" manuals!

It goes out to 99.9% of people who DO NOT WANT THEM. It is enforced marketing and it takes quit a bit to get off their mailing/email lists. You can tell the retards that you are an Es PEE and they still will enforce their propaganda on you! Just idiots!

This is part of El Con Hubbard's TECH! "Assume they are always going to be dedicated Scientologists"!

This is how it works.

A guy gets into Scientology - does not improve his conditions enough to stay in - in fact, most likely goes broke, ends up divorced, loses home etc. So he quits. He is afraid to say anything due to the "tech" - so he says he is busy, not interested, has no money, can't come to the event etc...

He hates Scientology - does not want the phone calls, sees the manipulation and starts to become "rabidly antago" towards the Cult! So he starts to bitch at the caller inviting him to the "secret briefing"...the new release event that will clear the planet...all the bullshit reasons the caller uses to get you to come so they can have a stat and get their $10 for 160 hours of work that week :whistling:

The caller decideds they do not want and won't do CALL IN anymore...so he moves on to another post...

Then a new staff member is given the job of "call in" and is enforced to do it - so he tries. He is all excited about this new group that will SAVE MANKIND! He starts calling and gets the "rabidly antago" people that have requested $176 trillion times to take them off the list - but has no idea what is going on.

The Morgue puts him on the PTS / SP course - and he concludes that these people are "hiding crimes"....have "overts and withholds" are "PTS Type III" etc...

He disconnects from his family, his friends and soon gets off that post and another newbie gets the "call in"...or the Oat Tea committee member gets the "call in" and spin spin spin...:duh:

This is the Church of Scientology and El Con Hubbards great tech to save mankind!:omg:

Yes they do have to lie.

If they were to be honest and say, "we have a small random bunch of unremarkable but occasionally beneficial techniques mixed up with a lot of useless, and harmful techniques", I don't think they'd do much business, and business is what it's all about.

Buyer beware.

That link had amazing policies - the bit about pointing a camera at the press because it upsets them, the stuff MSH and David Gaimen wrote - simply amazing.

My pleasure to direct people to this. It shows the lie, confuse, attack, and speak of only your agenda no matter what you're asked, etc. system. I had to laugh at some parts, like only go in two, to speak to the media, never alone. That way when the SP (the interviewer) asks you a question you don't know how to answer, the other person should cut in to answer, so you can recover from the SP's question.

The "Free Stress Test/Personality test is something that has always REALLY irked me. Another example of deception, right from the start. As an example, I am Fresh Meat Jane and John, and I've seen a scientologist spokesperson lying and deceiving on TV, but it piques my curiosity. Jane and John later pass by a Stress Test table on a Saturday afternoon, and have the cycle run on them to buy a book and pre-pay for a class. They have NO idea what they're getting in to.

Here's how to get the end product of cash in the sales cycle ... I mean personality evaluation: http://www.mediafire.com/?5g4k72e7z7wwf

There we go. Ron detests us wogs and SPs (non-scientologists) and clearly we are too stupid to even bother with. Unless it's sales of scientology. It is scientology vs the world; a world of enemies ... okay, cult tough guy.

Let's see. Ron "spits" and goes on a critical rant about how there is "no society".

All that just because someone asked him for some biographical data.

We always deliver what we promise-
"ENEMY- SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.

When you say it like that, maybe this isn't the kind of thing I want to get involved with!

Selling classes to billions of people? Most of the world population cannot afford it, or the desire to do it. And that is Historical Research. That sounds impossible, and it is. It is obviously a task that cannot be accomplished ever, by any means. I guess if you groom your cult for sales to the earth's population, I suppose you'd get slave labor until they die.

I was told there was "research" and "historical research".

It's not Hubbard's, but PaulsRobot could audit 1 billion people right now. Well, apart from the language problem and the hosting fees. And a slight case of non-existence. :)

I realize that people aren't idiots and they know (most of them) that there's no such committee. But given the cult's propensity for indoctrination/brainwashing, they're counting on members' believing whatever they are told. And they give that a lot of reinforcement.

But, yes, eventually most people get hip to it and leave. I have no idea what the percentage is- my guess is 90 or so per cent.

Mims: Because it is a CULT and they have to lie because it works...covert operations is the way this organization has worked from the very beginning!

Scientology - it is not what it claims to be and it is what it does not claim to be.

Hubbard gave all the clues - it does the opposite of what it promises!

Also, this is the result of stat driven organizations! The stats are the only thing that counts....and in Scientology...CASH IN and NO CASH OUT is their stat! The expansion and other lies are just to keep the SLAVES HAPPY and CONTENT!!
