I will be heading to my sister's farm to camp for four nights beside the Murrumbidgee River for a gathering of my family - currently there's almost fourty of us confirmed to be there.
Perfect time of year - warm days, cool nights, minimal flies and snakes, lots fat kangaroos and the odd platypus around, poosums and owls at night, barbeques overlooking the river, abundant birds, camping in the forest under River Red Gums (not right under - they sometimes drop large branches.)
Canoeing, swimming, fishing, bike-riding, eating, chatting, walking, etc etc..
Our own private beach below the tents - lovely golden sand stretching into the cool waters of the river.
We'll probably saddle up a four-wheel drive and go "grass-skiing" behind it - being towed around a flat paddock on the upturned bonnet of an old car. Enormous fun and quite safe.
Plus probably all sorts of other activities and the sunday morning egg hunt for all the kids (well over a dozen under the age of ten.)
Anybody jealous yet?
I could go on....
