I have not read all the posts on this thread here - however I'm responding to the initial post.... a good friend, who is close to the Mayos confirms that the email address being used IS David Mayos.....

Back in the early 1980s, while still somewhat having the idea that there was something of value to "the tech", but after having already seen far too much idiocy by the Church management and organizational setup, that crazy ultra-long policy issue came out about David Mayo, and it had me quite certain that Hubbard was NOT any longer on the lines. Of course, that was long after the SO #1 line used "rubber stamped LRH signatures", with little initials next to the rubber stamp for who actually wrote the letter.

What was that issue? "The Story of a Squirrel" or something like that? It was just so obvious, by the writing style, that Hubbard did NOT write it. Yes, he may have approved of it and knew of it, but I have always suspected that the moronic midget wrote it.

Mayo getting declared was an early big OUTPOINT for me - just another of many big screaming read flags created by organized Scientology simply following standard insane LRH policy.

I was in Miami in the early 1980s, and I remember talk in the org of public going over to the ACC to do their "clear checks". It was quite a problem for them, because so much of the public was so horribly disaffacted by the destruction caused by the Finance Police (to the Miami Org), and so MANY people were heading to the ACC for services!

VaD: David Mayo was the Snr C/S Int for many years, and prior to that, the Snr C/S Flag. He was Ron's auditor, he developed NOTS, and he was probably the most respected figure in Free/Independent Scientology to have emerged from the Church. He has come under attack by Marty and Mike, who stand to benefit as new leaders in this area, and who participated and planned the takeover of David Miscavige from David Mayo and Mary Sue Hubbard. Subsequently, he lead the largest Independent movement that has ever existed (hundreds of org/groups), and then was silenced as part of a settlement between Dr. Frank Gerbode and the Church of Scientology in 1994. His last known participation online was in 1995, I believe, on alt.religion.scientology, and it was a farewell notice.

His re-emergence at this time would be catastrophic for Mike and Marty, and for David Miscavige, and would probably unite the Independents in a way that has never happened since his time at the AAC's, and would probably be larger than that, if he wanted it to be. If he has ceased being a Scientologist, that would be a giant shock to many people's "stable data", and would be worthy of note in its own right.

While I would welcome him back to the discussions, it is an extraordinary claim to say you are him, and as such, requires extraordinary evidence.

Does that explain why people would be suspicious?

Yes, of course. I would be suspicious, too.

Especially because he can't and won't post!
