FCDC circa 1970

Anyone remember this?

There was this beautiful, capable auditor at FCDC (she used to audit me, and I have many sticky, drippy MIPs to "fall back on"... but I digress). She had a pc who would ONLY be audited by her -- he was a tall, aging black man who had once been Vietnam commander General William Westmoreland's valet. He had a very deep, somewhat slurred voice with a slightly stereotypical southern black intonation, and was a very nice, pleasant guy.

The auditor married at the org. Some of you may have attended. They had a beautiful wedding on the steps of the 1812 Founding Church. The families were in attendance, and everything was so nice and going great. The minister got to the point in the service where they say something like, "If there is anyone here who objects to this union, may they speak now, or forever hold their peace." And the bride's pc stood up without missing a beat and announced, "Ah do, she's mah woman!" It was like a scene from a movie comedy. Several of us could not stop laughing, and were asked to leave.

I somehow missed that. But that must have been Owen Banks. I think he was too old to be Westmoreland's valet. Owen was one of those great gems that added humanity, charm and character to the place.

A contest sort of..

For ex fcdc staff- take a look at Zinji's new signature line.
It's pretty "kool"- in my mind. I was thinking of a signature line for myself-then a thought how about if we who qualify as exers from fcdc shared a similar signature line. Yeah-maybe not - but if it were really "KOOL" well -maybe then...
 
I've been admiring Zinj's sig for a few days now. Between that and TAJ's fight song, I'm really proud to be ex-FCDC. Time to re-up?
 
How long were you on staff?

The Uncle lasted 5 and 1/2 years. How about you?
I left staff in 1975 - is anybody still on staff from that time?
I do know someone [a very good buddy]who I joined staff with- who still is in the sea org------holy crap-the thought of still being IN is truly awful. And don't be silly-of course I have not talked to him since the 70's. It pays to be an "apostate".

Is Liz Clapp still on staff? Liza Brummer?

Technically, Lee was not on FCDC staff back in the 70's was he? He was public when I was first there and then didn't he and his wife run the Chesapeake school for a while? I may be wrong about that, but either way he's been on lines for all that time.

How about Vicki Turrisi? She was just a kid, but on staff, back in the late 70's. (I've forgotten her maiden name. I think her mom was a public back then)

I'm with Uncle Sam on this, pondering the imponderable: how's it possible to still be on staff after all these years?

Yes to Liz and Louisa. She was kind enough to hand deliver my declare to me.
Yes, Lee and JoAnn ran CAS.

Vickie Eftis is not on staff that I know of. Tony seems to be though.
Yes, her mother Naomi was public. She passed on a while ago.
I have nothing but the highest of affinity for these guys.

I just think they are all dupes currently. (The ones still on staff...)

Yes, she was...then she was busted off that post, waffled around for a while in the field, and then went back on as tech sec dcd...she was doing her purif again for the 3rd or 4th time. I had just finished OT III in the FZ...I told her it was just plain wrong for clears to be C/S'ed DOWN the grade chart....but she was stuck on the rightness of RTC...

Was still smoking cigs as well. I quit shortly after I left staff.....

Raymond? As of the last time I talked to her (2 years ago?) they were still married. Her oldest (Michelle) was married or getting married and on staff, as was her son. He was, I believe, still doing construction type stuff. He was on the reno's project for the Freewinds, so I hope he gets a thorough medical exam....
 
Is Steve Lower, Jerry Newman, and Barb Lamb still on staff? There was a guy named Tom who was the PES or something in the 1980s when I passed through there. Is he still there?

Steve Lower - yes
Jerry Newman - yes
Barb Lamb - not confirmed but I think so. David Lamb is also still around, but not on staff and not in very good shape.

Tom - No, hes not around.....Declared I think.

Patty - Ira Crowe. No, she is not on staff. Ira was Snr C/S for quite a while, he is no longer on staff either. Patty went out and did up to OT III and then came back and had some physical issues.....last I heard she was looking at NOTs as her salvation....but that has been a while ago. Saw a picture of her trying to blend in to the anon crowd at a raid earlier this year...obviously an infiltration attempt that did not fool anyone....
