within a year and 5 raises later, was promoted to service manager.. making 10K a year back in 1969 . and I left THAT to join the Sea Org!
but we could do anything back then... we were bulletproof and immortal and high as kites on testosterone.
after i escaped, ten years later, I took all the electronics courses at Northern Va Comm College and built a business.. got a club into the top ten Video clubs of America, in 84.. in Video Magazine, my design, all custom speakers and video switchers...called Poseurs in Georgetown, and Poseurs was the cheapest date in that top ten list (national list) see the facebook page for Poseurs

So you are a Georgetown kid-nice place!!!! When we were old enough we took our dates to Clyde's and more often to 1789-other wise we hung at the Zebra Room on Wisconsin near St. Albans.
We-you-I and the others were most fortunate to be born "then" and enjoy the whole "deal" of that Time--the only exception was the 5 and 1/2 years spent on staff at ole "fcdc". I was more of a Bethesda - Chevy Chase kid but did enjoy our forays into the City--we just missed 'knowing" one another both in High School and at fcdc. I was one of the very lucky kids and went to the Prep with the 9 hole golf course out on Rockville Pike--yeah- I know the question- "How did a supposedly smart kid get involved with the cult?" The answer lies in "there is always one in every barrel"

There was the Peppermint Lounge, The Corral, The Bayou, The Cellar Door, and.. yeah Ive been in the basement bar of 1789 ( was used for one of the scenes in the Excorcist, with the famous stairs around the corner )
