What a story. So sad for his friends and son. I guess that should be a lesson for all us talking politics here. I know it is futile to try to change political points of view, but I suppose that has been the way in America since the beginning. I will just say this :thumbsup: Bush is not president any longer. Get over it. Stop blaming him.

What a story indeed. Thank God he found his son alive. I'm sure many others were not so lucky.

TG1 Never crossed paths with Bukoowski but we had mutual friends. Met Ginch once in DC in1993. I see Lawrence on the streets of SF now and then. I'm Haight Ashbury, he's North Beach. Different circuses. Hope you read my last big post on the "X-X" thread as you may be sufficiently literate to recognize a pathetically lame attempt at postmodern homage to Wolfeman The Elder out of the recently au courant NW Shool of Magical Realism accented by about a quarter dram of postwar French verisimilitude.

I don't know if you get US news, but this stuff about that Blumenthal guy in Connecticut where he claimed Viet Nam service is absolutely disgusting. NO ONE ever forgets combat, it is a life defining experience. To claim to have been in combat is a damning lie to me. For those who have seen him on news, I would have said he is lying off the bat because he looks too young. All the poseurs who claim RVN service usually are in their early/mid 50s. Those who actually fought are all 62 or older I believe. For the record, I state proudly that I did not serve in Viet Nam. I am TOO YOUNG.

Here I am, the new FCDC guy on the block, trying to keep the position of our hottie thread, trying to keep encroaching threads (like Hello, I am a Scientologist, or :giggle: I am a Gynecologist) at bay. I know you, Mystic, Unca Sammie, and TAJ are senior to little Winnie, but please help me out. :nervous:
