FCDC stuff . If anyone remembers Glenn Smoak, I'd like to talk about him. We were buddys. Know he left and where he lives now, but missing why or if permanently left.

Ya. Glenn was a goodguy. BIG smile. Last I heard he be totally OUT with stiff finger at the ready. And this is said in a very stern burn and wurn durn fern learn fashion.
 
Rostropovich's birthday (on FCDC circa 1970)

One of the greatest cellists ever to walk the face of the earth would have been 87 today. He died 7 years ago in Moscow.

This is long. However, I cannot describe the experience of hearing this guy live. It was electric, almost metaphysical to be in the presence of this master. His sound in a concert hall was unlike any other cellist. Recordings are deceiving, and Rostropovich was the only cellist who could absolutely fill a hall with glorious sound. This recording is fine, but the true live experience can never be captured with microphones.

I thunk there are more chick pro players these days than ever. Newest cello in the band, sitting where I used to sit, is a hottie. Orchestra is playing Dvorak on May 4, with a chickie from SF. They are everywhere.
 
Winnie und his cello, however, the onstage lights are so bright that it makes my love yellow. It is not yellow, it is a golden light brown.

I find that extremely interesting. The magnification and expansion of feminine presence continues! It has been said, many time from many sources, that this "new age" (pardon the term) will see a shift to the feminine. Which is OK with me.

And, well I can't find 'em play Dvorak. Will Paul Desmond do?
