I am from New Delhi, India and have been acquainting myself with scientology for the past four days. I am not entirely satisfied with what I have witnesses and since this seems to be a well participated forum on experienced people, I expect to get a third party objective view apart from good guidance.

As you'll soon discover there are a lot of strong opinions around esmb. Sometimes those opinions can get in the way of facts.
A good source for some answers to some of your questions would be Vinaire. He's an american engineer from India. Nowadays he prefers to use Idenics as his choice of spiritual technology, but Vin likes to recast scientology terms & concepts in the light of traditional Vedanta. He has his own ideas about what is what, still it might be a good place for you to start getting a grip on the subject of scientology.
Much of the most active discussion on the board is centered on the CHURCH of Scientology, aka Co$. THAT is a different thing entirely from discussion of the subject.
Vin's on esmb alot and will likely respond to a pm should you care to send him one.

Hi sh50! I too would be interested in hearing about your contact with scientology in India. I've visited India (Delhi, Varanassi, Mumbai, Udaipur)and studied Hinduism and find it surprising that you would think that Scientology had anything to offer you. But welcome to ESBM, and ask away, any questions you have.

I would recommend that you read the sections "My story from inside Scientology" and "Staff War Stories" which will give you much insight into what really goes on inside Scientology. It is quite different that what is presented to a potential "newbie" who they are attempting to have join (so they can spend money or work for free).
There are plenty of people here who can answer questions along the way.

sh50, welcome, this is the best place to look for answers. Many people here were high up in the 'church' and many of us spent our youth getting nowhere, except tired hungry, stressed and further and further from enlightenment. Keep your eyes open and don't loose your ability to question.
