I am sad

When I first came aboard, it was such fun to find old friends and joke about Blubbard. Certainly all us ex-FCDCers had fun back then and the thread by that name has been a hoot. I could be completely wrong, but now I see endless discussion about something we all loathe--"Scientology." It is time to let go. If we hate it so much why are we so fascinated with it? Maybe I have just gone beyond the subject, after all every single one of us was burned in a big way. I really miss the hilarious threads, but maybe it is me not picking up on the funny stuff any longer.

This board like anything else is a constantly changing scene with different people coming and going and with evolving viewpoints. That's just the way it goes.

you must have me on ignore!! We could go over to the Conspiracy theory thread and take the piss out of the eejits over there. Bit like shooting fish in a barrel but still fun in a mindless kind of way.

I know what you're saying. :sadsigh: The good news is that the pendulum will swing back again. . . . we've lost a lot of great, thoughtful and humorous posters lately. I hope they come back, but the void will be filled, I'm sure of it. In the meantime, don't miss Hoax's stuff -- I've been in tears laughing on numerous occasions!!

You are not the first person to write something like this.

I think that eventually quite a few people decide they are done with Scn criticism because they would like to move on from that. That's cool.

We have an off topic section here and we can all PM each other here and friend each other on Facebook and this way, you can still chat with those you enjoy about things you really would like to chat about.

I guess you caught me off guard with this comment and had me laughing loud enough to wake my spouse who was sleeping upstairs!:hysterical:

Winston, you should just take (s)troll once in a while for fun. Everything changes with time and somethings cycle.

Don't dwell in that sadness, Winston ...

You have a valid point. I think there is some truth in the phrase "You can take the person out the cult, but you can’t take the cult out of the person" (http://www.elizabethesther.com/2011/01/you-can-take-the-person-out-the-cult-but-you-cant-take-the-cult-out-of-the-person.html)

Today, I resent much, but not all of Scientology. I resent the faked science, the dogma, the cult think, the false pretense etc. But at the time when I got involved (in the seventies) it was doing things for me, I was fascinated and it had some positive impact on me.

I guess life after Scientology is about finding other values and meanings. And to let go of those GRAND GOALS AND GAMES. But to step down from those high horses could be a drag. It's a little like the case of Don Quixote who ends up in a melancholy state (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Quixote) when he is regaining sanity back home again ...

Many of us won't let go of it because we love our family our friends and even complete strangers in such a way that we can't let go of it. Knowing what we know about it.

I for one will never let go of it until I am certain no one else will ever be subjected to such spiritual brutality disguised as spiritual benevolence in my lifetime. Which means I will be forgoing the humor of it in the interest of exposing the insanity of it until I draw my last breath in this world.

Yes they are. I love especially the Suffolk Punch. Two tons of sheer beauty and muscle. Don't be sad. There's so much to be thankful for.

well I am huge fan of Suffolks and love 'em to death - but 2 tons? Suffolks range around 1600 pounds...

Yeah but this place is also good for all the new ppl who are trying to get out of the cult now. The Basics revision and wave brought about a huge wave of new ppl into the cult, like myself. So I have some time to be brought up to speed to where you are. Seeing discussion about how evil the cult is helps us to realize what is going on. And sometimes when it's been normal speak it's fun to talk in a strange language that others understand without being in the cult.

Plus honestly Hubbard came across and popularized quite a few awesome things but I'm trying to figure out which is good and which is trash. And where he plagiarized them from. So this board really helps with that.

What kind of crazy threads have you started? I love the funny cats one btw, my family loved it too! Maybe you should reshare your story so that the newbies know who you are. Who are you?:coolwink:

Oh yes I understand your passion. It is well founded and I admire it. Those that are still bound in the cult's clutches are a tremendous sorrow for me. I was in 40 years ago, however, and I personally do not know many current Scns. Greg Wilhere was my auditor at FCDC, famous guy now I suppose, and it pains me that he is still deluded. So I know where from you come.
