Your premises based upon a intellectual study of bits and pieces of Scientology and their PR are not even in the same ballpark as living in the culture of Scientology.

And you altered your original statement again.

.
.

You can get Dianetics which will help you to be a better Moslem. NOI brand.

When they have the tek under their belt they gonna say Fuck You to the COS and call it Ebonetics. 'Cept by then they will be deep into exorcising demons on the OT levels. Those IAS Status levels will come with a big sparkling diamond medal that says "I pimp fo' The Church of Saaintologee".
IAS will mean "I'm Ass Saved (and I have paid up to prove it).
10,000 [STRIKE]virgins[/STRIKE] ho's is waiting in [STRIKE]Heaven[/STRIKE] (Theeetaville)."

Rubbish to your rubbish. There is no way the CofS would allow an independent person to open a book one Dianetic center without slapping a law suit on them.

Those who don't read history are condemned to repeat it in weird
and mysterious ways.:melodramatic:

The Trademark Dianetics is owned since 1950 by:-

"NEWSFLASH: A copy of the article: A SHORT HISTORY OF THE CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF DIANETIC AUDITORS by past president A. E. van Vogt as been located and reproduced in the History Section of this website. van Vogt sums this article up reminding us that dianetic auditors, by being C.A.D.A. members have full right(s) to use Dianetics and practice dianetic therapy. This of course is one of the main reasons to join our orgnization."

WTF????? There you go again. You CANNOT go into a c of s and get auditing for a bad back! They do not do that! They do not offer that service! They do not sell that service!

"Some examples of the everyday problems that can be handled with Dianetics are as follows:

Achieving your goals
Self-confidence/self-esteem
Depression
Anxiety
Stress
Marriage/Relationships
Communication
Work-related problems
Study/Comprehension

BACK PAINS

Asthma
Allergies
Hearing problems
Vision problems
Ulcers
Arthritis"

Yea, I took that statement back, thinking legally that since Dianetics was basically released to the public around 1950......that if one wanted, could open a Dianetics place and defend against a law suit.

Kate.....anyhow I don't think anyone can get "book one" style Dianetics auditing anymore. It has been changed to NED.

There use to be some sort of Dianetics Auditors Association in the late 1950's but that was squashed by the CofS in the late 1960's far as I remember.

Does the CoS even offer a book one style Dianetics course anymore?

I don't know if you can today - but you could as recently as a couple years ago. A friend who was on staff for a while tried to get me in for book one auditing - must have been 2011. Maybe there was a pool at the org - "we've all tried, let's see if you can get Blanky to drop some coinage."

Oh. And. Imagine my surprise to see this thread went from something like 4 pages when I last looked to 14 or 15 today. :eyeroll:

Kate, hun, you're hilarious and I think you get a little bit of a beating you don't deserve. But I have to say, you remind me a little of those teenagers I couldn't leave home alone because damned if a party didn't break out while they were just trying to clean their rooms or do their homework. :hysterical:

I didn't say it would _help_ your bad back. I said that you could go there and ask for auditing because you had a bad back and they would give it to you. That kind of stuff is what Book One auditing is all about. That doesn't imply that it will actually work.

There is policy against saying auditing can handle a medical condition. A bad back is a medical condition.

If you said "I want to see if auditing can cure my shyness", that would be a different story.

I don't know the current story, but back in the 1980's you could learn Book 1 auditing in Div6, and do what you wanted, co-audit, whatever.

Then by all means point out to me the flaw in this reasoning:

Premises:
1) Book One claims to be able to help a bad back via auditing
2) The cofs delivers Book One auditing
Conclusion:
Therefore, the CofS delivers auditing that Book One claims will help a bad back

1) Whatever Book 1 claims, in present time the organization is not allowed to be involved in any activity which is conducted for the purpose of handling a medical condition. To do so would be engaging in the practice of medicine, which could land them in legal trouble. As a result, if you walk in wanting to handle a physical condition, they will tell you to go see a doctor.

2) There might, in present time, be people delivering Book 1 auditing. They will be required to not make any claims that it will cure any medical condition, or conduct auditing with the stated objective of fixing any medical condition. If a medical condition happens to clear up, then that's great.

In summary, while "BOOK 1" may claim to heal a bad back, no person associated with the Church Of Scn is allowed to claim that they can cure your back with it.

Do you see the distinction?

CofS uses book one as a gimmick at best to get raw public signed up for a Scientology course and then if they have the bucks onto Scientology auditing and the bridge. To endlessly post here about it, split hairs and hem and has about it is-ridiculous. Anyone that has been in the church would know the above is true.

Well, it's birthday week. I think, correct me if I'm wrong, the games started over the past weekend and go through the coming weekend. With game week and many events complete it will be far more difficult to pinpoint my location and the specific event I attended. Then it should be safer to post any details I'm able to bring away. I know the Men in Black are dwindling in numbers but I also know they're here. I suppose it would not be helpful to wear a mask to the event??

Post 2000 I did the HQS course and a part of that course was to deliver Book 1 auditing to people.

Exactly as has been stated so many times of this board, it is pointless because all the cures Hubbard purports are skewed data and most likely no one was ever cured of a real illness by Dianetics.
But people with psychosomatic imaginary illnesses that are in need of a placebo cure may imagine relief and therefore experience it. I have an injured back and I would laugh myself silly if I went in for Dianetic auditing. Why would it help my body if I recalled the first time I ever injured my back? It's preposterous.
Kind of like the traveling minister snake oil salesmen who put their hands on the ill person's head and voila, they're cured by Jesus. It's snake oil poured over reworked texts and sold as original "technology".
I once had a friend who was OT7 L10, 11 & 12 complete and he said ""I would like to see one example of lasting case gain is Scientology". That helped give me the impetus to get out for good.
I'm not implying that Dianetics is effective at curing so-called psychosomatic ills... I'm saying that they _claim_ it is and I'm saying that it's a service they attempt to deliver (even if its doomed to failure) if you want to give them money to get that service.

Harnessed and under control, being a Hard Headed Woman can be a great thing. Don't let it get you in over your head.
