... there's one on eBay at the moment. Actually, it's mine. Just in case it is of interest to any of you guys, it can be found here.

An interesting item - I mean the built-IN TA-counter. Never seen one before built IN.

But I prefer to buy an other Co$-item - a bottle of Dr. Hubbard´s "Psycho Juice" :

How does it taste ?

It's one spicy sauce, let me tell you! It'll have you exteriorizing all over your hot wings. You'd need a touch assist afterwards.

I don't know if you're serious about the TA counter or making a joke -- but not all Mark V's had a built in TA counter (the kind that was reset with a button). Some had a cruder kind that was driven by a small rubber belt that went around the tone arm and was reset by turning a little gear, much more low-tech.

That's how I remember it anyway. It's been over 30 years. :wink2:

The one above I remember, but the TA-counter was mounted on the outside of the front-panel.

The "sophisticated" built-IN-version I have never seen before.

Wow, I see it has already been sold now.

I hooked up mine to my two tomato plants, one lead on each. I strung a string to the tone arm. Every morning I check it, and sure enough I get on average 2 1/2 TA divisions per hour.

Pardon me sir!

How much did HE get?

I don´t know if the seller is a HE or SHE, and I don´t know how much (s)he finally got - but as I already wrote:

The asking price on evilbay was £79.99 (click on "here" in the first post)

If it is very important to you and you have an evilbay-account my tip is that you could write the seller and ask him/her there for details.

Correct me if I am wrong, didn't a lot of Mark V meters sold in the US get recalled because they discovered they didn't work as well as the ones sold in UK (I forget the exact issue)? I have a UK model that actually doesn't have any tone counter, even the low-tech one.

I remember that, and feeling pleased that I had a British Mark V. Late 70s, wasn't it?

Now, whether the complaint was true or not is another question. Possibly it was a false rumour started by a competing manufacturer. I don't know either way.

At least some (british) Mark V were a safe risk because they didn´t use an isolation transformer or an external adapter for charging. They were directly connected to mains for charging.

So if you would connect and touch the cans while charging, you would get a real "excited feeling".

Probably that feeling came from re-stimulation of an event involving electronic theta traps... or it was your nerves reacting to the electricity which is what they use to communicate with the brain. One of the two. ;-)

Luckily mine has the 12v adapter.

funny.

But just on an aside, I wouldn't sell any scientology stuff on ebay or elsewhere to make a buck or recover my monies that I paid full price for.

I just don't want to spread false technology.
