In Memoriam: Nancy Walcott

Nancy is one of my dearest friends, and one of the first I made via the internet
around a decade ago. I stayed with her when I visited LA a few years ago, and we also met in London. I love her dry sense of humour. We've had numerous lovely phone conversations over the years, and whenever she thought I was being an idiot about something she straightened me out. Something I shall eternally be grateful for. :)

Nancy was a Class VI auditor, a qualified course sup, a qualified school teacher and also
qualified to teach gifted children. She also trained on and delivered Mary Freeman's ethics course. She didn't post much to forums in recent years, but was always auditing someone,
or word clearing them or some other enhancement action. Half the times I rang her we had to cut conversation short as a client was about to call.

She started what was maybe the first FZ courseroom in the the US. At least that part of the FZ connected by our modern FZ forums which have existed for around 11 years.

One amusing story she told me was that when auditing a client on I believe NOTs,
the client apparently got in touch with LRH. Nancy asked if he'd given a VWD for the
session, but was told it was only a well done because of some small error somewhere.
Such is her humour.:)

Nancy also played the oboe semi proffessionally, in orchestral concerts
operas etc.

She transitioned very peacefully and cheerfully and I gather she was looking for a body in Austria or Germany. No doubt she will be auditioning/auditing for the Vienna or Berlin Philharmonic in due course.

Nancy was a friend of mine, as well. Last time I saw her I would have sworn she was healthy as a horse (last year), and we had pizza and cokes while chatting about whatever was going on at that time.

She's been a friend to me for many years, as well, both on and off the boards, and was one of the first people to give me a referral. She'll be missed. Glad I got to talk to her a few days ago before the darkness fell.

RIP

Glad you got connected then. :)

She was a very standard Class VI. And she also explored other
avenues. Lots of them.

Best I know she never mixed them.

In her words there was no darkness. Just a new beginning.

As spoken to me. And otherrs.

Thanks Terrill.

She was a caring friend . A professional with everything she did. She was helpful to many people. Some who pulled the rug out from under her feet. In the end she had it all figured out though.

Good friends are hard to come by. Good company is hard to come by.

So, I am with a sudden loss of treasure.

No need to mix things. Best for another thread on that. The darkness is my own poetic idea of what occurs, not intended to speak for her.

This saddens me deeply.

Shortly before I left Los Angeles, for Northern California, I had occasion to help her solve some computer networking problems at her home.

She told me of her oboe playing and had a little workstation set up for the crafting of her own Oboe reeds! What a highly talented person!

I found her very warm and friendly. She shall be missed.

What happened to Nancy? How did she happen to die suddenly?

It wasn't sudden, Foti. Nancy has been being treated for cancer over the last several years. Earlier this year her treatment course took a turn for the worse. Subsequently she rearranged her life so as to make the most of her remaining time and to ease the process of her death.

Nancy was a great standard tech auditor, does anyone know who she passed her pc folders to? I was audited by her for three years and obtained clear status with her as my auditor. We spoke about twice a year since then and the last I had heard she stated she was on the rebound (i think it was early 2011.).

In private discussion with her before she moved north she indicated that she had destroyed any personal information she retained about her pcs, folders included. That seemed to her to be the wisest choice.

She had a local friend who is also an auditor who might have more information with regard to specific pcs. My understanding is that person is a very private individual, nor do I recall the person's full name. Aida might conceivably know more.
