Some of you might know the International Viewpoints Magazine. It has existed for quite some years by now.

International Viewpoints Magazine Home Page

Here are some quotes from the home page:

IVy, the familiar name for "International Viewpoints" is an on paper magazine,
sent five times a year Internationally to those who subscribe.

The Magazine's aim:
In 1934 the book Scientologie by A. Nordenholz was published. In the middle of the twentieth century
the subject of Scientology was greatly expanded as a philosophy and technology by L. Ron Hubbard
and a big band of helpers. This band coalesced into the Church of Scientology, which became a little secretive, restrictive, expensive and slightly destructive. From 1982 on, many left or were thrown out of
that church and continue to use and develop the philosophy and technology.

It is this large subject that International Viewpoints deals with, and it is our aim to promote
communication within this field. We are independent of any groups (sect).

I haven't seen anyone mention it on ESMB yet, so, here goes.

Kristi Wachter has collected the output of
The Aberree - The Non-Serious Voice of Scientology

from 1954 - 1965. Some of you were in long enough that you might know of it, but, it's interesting reading for anyone interested in the early days of Scientology.

Beautiful Web Site!

Thanks for the link.

I've read many interesting publications that have been passed around from that mag.

Especially the stories and interviews.

I know Ivy mag, and I know it did helped many SP declared scientologist in the '80s by allowing free communication among them - thus allowing the suppressions of the Church to be less suppressive.

What I like most of the mag are the stories of old timers, who share their data, discoveries and experiences in the field of independent Clearing.

Subscription to Ivy is $ 80.
They are happy to send a free issue by mail to anyone who request it.

Here the editorial of the March 2007 issue:

Editorial
PERHAPS MOST OF us know what is needed to keep the "Church" of Scientology alive and growing (and providing luxury for the elite). But what is needed to keep the Scientology and MetaScientology Free Zone growing and thriving? I'd suggest that it is not money, but rather communication. Communication, one of the main pillars of early Scientology, is one of the main things that the present "official body" of Scientology suppresses. Those who have left the once comfortable fold of that official body may have unknowingly inherited some of that suppression. Perhaps a little unwillingness somewhere to communicate, despite having a certificate saying you can communicate to all things large and small.

If you want to contribute to the growth and survival of "Free Scientology" (not a bad idea), it is not your money that is wanted. How about contacting a former friend or acquaintance, not to handle or convert, but just out of curiosity and friendliness? How and what are they doing?

A personal note: I spent many years in the Church, I keept my nose closed and ignored the smell, just because I thought the Church only had the monopoly of the Tech and the only way to OT.
It was a big surprise to find out about the Free Zone when I left, and I would have left much earlier if I was aware that there is a Bridge outside CoS for those who still want it, and seems to be a much better and travelled Bridge (simply because it doesn't stop with a "can’t have" at OT8, and I see people freely talking about it and even help themselves out a lot on OTIII and all - something you can't do in the Church).

Many of us don't care about the Tech and the Free Zone, but I thing is good it is there and is good to keep it there for people who wants to take the good out of it and for the scientologists - to know that they don't really need to be abused to be free.
