...The "Non Enturbulation Order" (which is really just a mini-declare) is rarely talked about, but you have done a beautiful job of throwing it under the magnifying glass!...
This is an important point I missed completely. The Non-enturbulation order is rarely talked about.

Karen, you have added another layer of understanding of disconnection here. The threat of disconnection is more formal than most people outside the cult have seen.

Non-enturbulation order = formal codified threat of never seeing your family.

There was a point where I was put under non-enturbulation order.

Shortly after that, the org reg calls me up at 3am, waking me to ask if I wanted to put some money on account toward some books. I was pretty sure that a FOLO person (who wanted me declared) put the reg up to it, hoping that, half asleep, I would tell the reg to fuck off.

I didn't take the bait.

You're very lucky the reg didn't write a KR on you, citing that although you were under a Non-Enturbulation Order, you nonetheless proceeded to enturbulate them by not donating.

Put another way, anytime you do not robotically adhere to every line in policy, internal issues, *advices*, the culture, the now-I-am supposed-to's, anytime you challenge or think for yourself outside the tunnel, you are being *enturbulative* and can be put under the NON-ENTURBULATION order....one step away from declare and loss of family and friends.

This ongoing threat makes higher level advanced spiritual beings, bullet proof from even the common cold and guarantees exteriorization with full perception stably....

The so called "internal justice" within the CULT of Scientology is often an effort to overwhelm and crush a person to get back in line. Committee of Evidences are done to placate the convening authority. It is proven time and time again that Scientology Inc is totally incapable of changing anyone's ethics by the reason the subject falls on his head and is back in ethics frequently, and is now named "an Ethics case."
Another example is the draconian "RPF" Mind control/Thought reform gulag where people are shipped to for YEARS. There is no evidence of one successful graduation from this hellish program but they keep doing it. "religious discipline" it is called.
I call it an atrocity.

Yes this is correct.

In actuality, to have been subjected to any of the cult's "Jurisprudence" raises the question of your value and merit in the minds of the cultized because the think, even among relatively balanced folks is, per tech, "something must be out with the person to have pulled this in!!!!"

And factually, Committee of Evidences are the modern day version of the infamous "Star Chamber proceedings" . . . this from wiki:

The Star Chamber (Latin: Camera stellata) was an English court of law which sat at the royal Palace of Westminster from the late 15th century until 1641. It was made up of Privy Councillors as well as common-law judges and supplemented the activities of the common-law and equity courts in both civil and criminal matters. The court was set up to ensure the fair enforcement of laws against prominent people, those so powerful that ordinary courts might be unlikely to convict them of their crimes.

Court sessions were held in secret, with no indictments and no witnesses. Evidence was presented in writing. Over time, the Star Chamber evolved into a political weapon, a symbol of the misuse and abuse of power by the English monarchy and its courts.

In modern usage, legal or administrative bodies with strict, arbitrary rulings and secretive proceedings are sometimes called, metaphorically or poetically, star chambers. This is a pejorative term and intended to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the proceedings.

Committees of Evidence do indeed pervert truth and justice and find as directed by the whim or perverted belief of "authority" . . . that is, to serve the dictates of the power in charge that wants a preordained outcome.

Indeed, apart from my own experience when subjected to this parade, a better and more striking proven example of the perversion of this practice is the case related to me by Mark and Ellen Jones. And it is the reason and cause for these stellar people to resign from the cult and for Mark to have founded the "Free Spirit" magazine that held the field together after the blow-up of '82-'83.

For an insight of the calibre of Mark, see his Bio here . .

Ellen, who had been Tech Sec or Qual Sec WW and served in both those posts in London Org as well as its ED, was one of the most technically qualified and competent people in the world. And she became a tech leader in the field because of being unable to join the SO.

Ellen due to her status was appointed to be Chairman of a Comm Ev on a field auditor in the LA area. I don't recall if Mark was also on the committee, but needless to say he was well informed of its progress.

The true and correct findings of the Committee were that the "interested party" . . . ummm, let's put that in honest human terms: the accused! . . . were that the accused was found innocent of all charges save for a minor "admin error" . . .

These findings did not suit the "authority" . . . and the authority demanded they be changed, which change was refused. Whereupon the authority then wrote findings to suit the witch-hunt and published the usual litany of generalities and lies as to the guilt of the accused.

It was at this point Ellen and Mark protested. I saw a document (it's buried somewhere off in my archives from memory) that unfortunately got to me when I was undergoing my own Comm Ev drama at FSO which fact delayed/prevented my response to Mark and support of him.

In that document, an open plea to all parishioners, Mark wrote of the corruption that had hit the exec strata and called for parishioners to act to restore truthful conduct of the affairs of management. It was indeed the forerunner of a "Debbie Cook email."

In due course, Mark and Ellen resigned from that cult calling itself a church . . . and the rest, as they say is history.

These latest series of videos by Karen really are getting at the guts of the evil and corrupt behavior of the cult. This is the key to its practice of suppression of free will, its intimidating duress by which it subjugates and indeed terrorizes its people into submission to its demands.

It is, indeed, a no-win situation you place yourself in when you join this organization because ALL its power is used against you to serve its wealth and power and you are only exploited to that end with no actual true benefit to you.

The Scientology culture is one of THREAT. Threat that you will be punished, that you will *LOSE* your spiritual freedom, your spiritual eternity, your friends, your family, and all rights if you do not obey. It is constant pressure, constant threat as a staff member. Public who are paying good money experience a different *EDITION* or version of Scientology. And even many public have a rough time, especially with the enforced loss of family members.
The humorous part of it is that Scientologists believe they are a*Superior* and *Elite*

Well, Hubbard made sure that Sea Org members "know" that they are superior and elite because that was his Command Intention:

Hubbard said:
A COMMAND

FLAG ORDER 137

THE SEA ORGANIZATION

September 12, 1967

If almost any person in the Sea Organization were to appear in a Scientology group or Org he would be lionized, red-carpeted and Very-Important-Personed beyond belief.

For the Sea Organization is composed of the "aristocracy" of Scientology.

These people, alone and on their own are all stars in the sky of their areas.

It is like one of the old regiments of gentlemen where any private would be, in another but common regiment, a colonel.

Denying the skill and fame of these individuals to Scientology at large would seem at first glance an extravagance and very wasteful.

And it would be except for one or two things.

In 1966 I made the actual test of what I could accomplish alone (much as any OT) in the wog world. I won the affection of the people of an entire small country and changed it. But a small determined clique of our SP friends made sure I lost. True, as they are locally and internationally unpopular, that they made me go opens all doors to us there when they are overthrown, as they will be, merely on the rationale that if they opposed us then we are all right.

But this adventure showed several things to be true. An unsupported OT without OT organization around him can lose ground. Holding a fixed position in a nation invites trouble. Cost to me, to do this, in terms of cash, was greater in less than five months than the whole Sea Organization in nearly a year. Even in full success, without organization, I would have done, less good than a similar period with organization. There was no personal case gain in it.

I am a great one for pioneering alone to find "holes in the fence". Well, that's what I did in 1966. And I concluded several things. First was that on an International basis one has to get in Ethics before he gets in tech. Second was that OTs did better amongst OTs. Third that OTs wore most valuable as a disciplined organised group. Fourth, that one could not, with such power, hold a fixed position without losing ground. Fifth, that we grow stronger as we continue to remain "Fabian". Sixth, that the Sea is the best area on which to be Fabian on this planet. Seventh, that we had to learn to work together as OTs before we could take in further territory. Eighth, that we could do our job best if we all grow more accustomed to handling Mest. Ninth that the Sea Organization as it is developing is our best personal and international answer.

So, the Sea Organization is composed of people who alone would excite great admiration but who together, well organised, can actually get the job done.

And although our lowest deck hand could be a "duke" only all of as together could get on with the job.

And that's how and why (with allowances for security in the crypticness of this text) the Sea Organization came into being and why we are here.

Karen,

Thanks a lot for doing this video. Especially for Staff, this is one of the only times I have seen this incredibly penetrating forms of thought and action control described. In my 10 year SO career and 10 year post SO ex SO DB career, I think I had a total of 4 non enturb orders, the last of which ran literally for years, and was never cancelled. A simple order that if you upset anyone or anyone becomes upset with you, and this order is made public to everyone, staff and public if you are public, sometimes to staff as well. It is really bat shit crazy. Amazingly not everyone likes me, nor has everyone liked me ... LOL. I remember getting one which was posted on bulletin boards in 5 different orgs around the country. Everyone that didn't like me, even if I hadn't talked with them in months or years wrote reports about how upsetting, annoying, enturbulating I was. LOL. I don't think they wanted to declare me, they just wanted me to stop making trouble.

Really powerful thought and action control tool by the COS that is not talked about much!

Thanks again Karen for a terrific video.

The justice system of the church mirrors the "tech" and "admin" systems. These systems are great on paper but in the hands of a semi-literate person with a warped sense of right and wrong, one's life can be made pretty tough.

The ethics system sounds wonderful. In practice, it's a draconian system of punishment devised to keep well-intentioned people dis-empowered while contributing everything possible to the deification of LRH.

It helps to hear these stories. Keep 'em coming.

Lessee. Com evs? Let me tell you about the two I had - I was newly back from LA after completing the BC at ASHO on Temple st. NOT interned or anything like that. So I was put in the HGC. One of my public PC's was a guy who only had one engram. My bad for not studying the folder better and finding this very important datum, because, when I tried to go E/S ( earlier similar ) the session went to hell and the Dianetic correction list did nothing. He red tagged. Go back in session and fix it I was told. Like the idiot green auditor I was, I tried an L-1c. It went from bad to worse. So I bailed and it double red tagged. They sent in an auditor who was familiar with his case, who put him through *his* engram yet again - it f/ned and I was trundled off to my second com ev - with the c/s writing a vicious report, whom I still like despite this: she accused me of trying to kill the pc with out-tech. So I was busted off day staff, and fdn picked me up.

Now for my first. ( Well on a cross flow really - Other's com eving others) I had an admin post - CF (central Files) which I had in power. Totally in PT - no backlogs. So I got promoted to a director post. My replacement in two weeks on post had a two week back log and everybody was screaming at him. So I got busted back to CF - in a few days I had it back in PT - everybody happy - except my senior, because now my director post was in NE (non-existence) So what did HAS & the Dism Sec ( my sr) cook up in all of their wisdom? Frank, who was being com-eved for what, I have no idea, walked into CF and showed me his findings - he was found guilty of his "crime", and the findings stated he was my replacement. Talk about screwy.

So back to my director post I went - which was another disaster, where in I was posted on something I had no clue whatsoever how to run, had no hatting and couldn't even do it because I had to sit on the book store all day, covering it from above, while my stats slid into a new lower range of non-existence.

I have read with great interest the personal stories of the Kangaroo "Justice" actions of the Church on this thread.

There was a long term Sea Org member called Alex, a friend of mine. He put his heart and soul into it, believing in it all. He was in the management side of the Church, in the Evaluators section. (Like an Analyst vs an Operative). Alex had earlier in a "confidential" session revealed that when he was 16 years old, he went joy-riding in a car that a bunch of teens took off in.

In the early 1980s many things blew up and as is par for the course for a *CHURCH* of warfare and purges, Alex moved on. I think he actually blew (fled).

The *Church* went into hyper-ventilating maliciousness.

The Church reported to the INS that he was *WANTED* for grand theft auto and was an illegal alien. (Alex is from Latin America).

No one got COMM EVd for that !!!!

Here's Alex's story ~~

Mike Rinder,
You are correct. Somewhere, when I was doing my Grades in the early ’70s, on the subject of O/Ws, I disclosed that at the age of 16 (1948) I, with other guys stole a car for a joy ride and ended up in a juvenile detention center. In 1985, while married to Maude, who was one of David mayo’s main contributors, I was denounced to the INS as dangerous car thief, illegal immigrant, who had escaped from jail after being convicted of grand theft auto. None of the information was true, except the joy ride I disclosed in the “sanctity” of confessional. So the practice of using confessional information to attack unwanted people was happening in the late 80’s, after Miscavige took over control. I never witness GO actions such as what Miscavige is doing, but I can attest to the fact that Miscavige has been practicing breach of confessional confidentiality since at least 1985.
However this time, with his latest blatant action against Marty, he has announced to the whole world that Scientology auditing is untrustworthy because anything you say in the “sanctity of confessional” can and will be used against you if you happen to disagree with any of the “Church”‘s methods.
This really reminds me of the Japanese Kamikazes. David Miscavige has now sent his “Church” and himself on a real Kamikaze mission. The ultimate foot bullet.

What a pitiful idiot!!

But not so anonymous because the INS agents told me where the tip came from.

yes, this is a perfect example of Hubbards use of Rhetoric.

that Flag Order 137 is Hubbards use of Rhetoric, namely Ethos,

"Ethos: The Appeal to the Speaker’s or Writer’s Character or Reputation

If you wish to persuade, you need to establish credibility and authority with your audience. A man may have the most logical and well-thought-out argument, but if his audience doesn’t think he’s trustworthy or even worth listening to, all his reasoning will be for naught."

http://www.artofmanliness.com/2010/12/21/classical-rhetoric-101-the-three-means-of-persuasion/

In that FO, Hubbard cleverly uses Ethos to establish credibity & reputation & authority for SO members so as to convince the Scientology membership that SO people are the authorities.

Hubbard learned Rhetoric, the Art of Persuasion, thru his Dean Wilbur, as I have posted before. This is a missing datum most people do not realize, one of the hardest outpoints to detect is the missing.

Ditto what Karen said.

One other point on comm evs:

There's something in some policy that says something along the lines of "if the members of the committee are not diligent in their duties (in other words, if they don't nail the guy) they are to be 'investigated for similar crimes of their own'".

This is something that is pretty much always held over your head if you're a member of a comm ev.

I was on a ton of comm evs in the Sea Org. Unfortunately, I had one of those posts where people thought I had the time for this shit. These things were always done AFTER post hours; this usually meant the committee meeting started at 11:30 or midnight. You still had to be up for morning muster along with everyone else.

Most of the ones I did were on other Sea Org staff, though I did do some on public and Non Sea Org staff. Usually they were ordered from uplines or by a mission.

So, between the sleep deprivation and the "kill or be killed" underlying threat, the only way to survive these things was to figure out how the person ordering it wanted it to come out; start there and work your way backwards, and spin the information you had on the guy so that it fit.

Horrible? Yes. Unjust? Totally.

But it's 4:00 a.m.

Morning muster is in 4 hours and the CMO is breathing down your neck for the submission.

You do what you gotta do.
