I knew them both, specially Lena as we went on a mission or two together. Anyone know where they are?

Nice to come here and see this after your kind remark. I did not know her well, but she was one of the friendliest execs I knew and she made a nice impression on me when I came to PAC. I think that they left in the 83 debacle, but perhaps earlier.

Were you Folo West Crew at one time?

Is it "ok" here to ask a person's real name, or does that just happen when another originates?

I take 'originates' to mean tells everyone. You can pretty much ask what you wish, don't expect an answer, and don't be surprised if you get suspicion from some. (personally I would consider it impolite, like asking what a person does for a living etc. sortta, but indentities are a bit of a different bird)
If someone knows you and wants to talk and still wishes to remain incognito then they'd probably send you a PM.
Lots of folks are still gun-shy of the cult, for many very good reasons.
Generally if someone doesn't mind their name being known they'll have posted such earlier though.
Just thought I'd say :)

Oh and a belated :welcome: too!

Dan, I was at Flag for a few years and while I was there, met both Lena and Per during missions to FLWUS and also while they were briefly at Flag for this or that. Yeah, I liked them both -- very sane and sensible people. Like I said, I went on a mission or two with Lena and I remember how she used to adore reading those romance novels, always had several on her. Even among the bad times, she and I had some laughs together and I'll always remember her warmth and human-ness.

I was only at FLWUS on those missions but also from about June 82 to Oct 82 I was based at the Central Marketing Unit at PAC, and then got RPFd so spent a week or three there, then got called to Int for some serious handling after which I left. I think my lot -- comm ev'd by Steve Marlowe at Miscavige's bidding -- was the first bunch of execs to leave, and we sort of scattered round the end of 82 and early 83. I probably don't know you as my time at PAC was a bit of painful blur, and it was a long time ago now.

As Ogsonofgroo said, you can ask what you like. Some people here are fully "out" -- as in they're happy to have their identities known -- others sort of, others not at all except to a few friends. So if you do ask, their replies will vary.

I was at FLWUS in 82 when I heard that he got busted after some ethics sit that happened while he was on mission. I don't have the gory details.

Do you remember that weird Birthday Game celebration song that Irene and Jack had the FOLO singing, ie

Give my regards to Broadway, remember us to Bess and crew
Tell all the folks at FOLO East US that they are number 2 ...

"Bess" was Bess Sullivan, formerly CO of FLEUS.

Thanks very much you all for the very nice and informative responses to my query. I want to imagine that we'll get someone who has stayed in touch. Let's keep this thread alive for a bit longer, yes?

She then married Paul Kellerhals.
If I remember right, Bess was also LRH Comm International for a while when it was in the top floor of the ASHO building.

She got hit by The Big Comm Ev in 82 and I gather has not been on staff since, though apparently still more or less on lines ... she was a really good person too, warm, funny, talented, whimsical. A good buddy.

Bess was Bob Sullivan's sister. (The Magic Carpet guy)

I forget why, but I talked with her at Bob's request after leaving the SO. Now i don't find any email or other info about it.

Who married Kellerhaus? Bess or Lena?

It seems a bit odd to me that in such a sort amount of time you have started threads looking for these people:

Lena and Per Svenlin
Debbie and Robin Jones
Scott Taylor
Scott Parker
Micky Del Amor

What is your current standing with the Church?

Do you agree that DM is an SP?

Most all that I want from this forum is to connect again with old friends. Is that odd? I would imagine it would be one of the most common reasons people join.

I'll give you a couple clues about me though. It might help you figure me out, if that is what you'd like to do.

Clue 1: I care what I think about people. I don't care what others think about me.

Clue 2: I don't believe in much of what I learned from the church. And amongst those things that I don't believe is in this personality-type called SP.

Clue 3: I am odd.

You won't find me in the mob that wants to hang David Miscavige or anyone else.

I won't be writing stories here that are critical of anyone. I have done some of that; my life was not enhanced in doing. I dropped it like a bad habit.

If I got into that, it would end for me anything that I got from Scientology that has been of value. Admiration is my most valued particle.

This makes sense to me: "The static, in practicing not-isness, brings about the persistence of unwanted existences, and so brings about unreality, which includes forgetfulness, unconsciousness and other undesirable states."

I love clarity. Labeling people as bad or suppressive is hateful and is a practice of not-isness or resistance. I won't do it.

Does that help?

What is my current standing in the Church? I have no idea and I could not care less. I may be declared SP, I may not. What the church thinks of me is not my business.

Why I don't post threads looking for specific people

I am curious about old friends I haven't seen for decades who were also in the CoS. These are people about whom I've already searched the Internet, but can't find out much about them -- or even anything about some of them. This makes me think they're working very hard to stay hidden.

I sometimes fantasize that some of my old friends are already here at ESMB or WWP or Marty's or elsewhere, posting under a pseudonym, like me.

However, I have refrained from mentioning their names here, in case they're either still in but under the radar (and would be hassled if I mentioned their name here) or in case they're out and hoping no one ever mentions their name in connection with CoS or Scientology in general.

I know some ex-Scientologists are now living new lives -- with new jobs, new friends, new communities, new relationships -- who would like to keep hidden forever their past associations with Scientology.

That's why I don't post threads looking for specific people. I also think putting a person's name in a thread makes them much more visible to search engines.

Others obviously feel differently about this. As they say, it's a free country.
