Laffy once mentioned somewhere-can anyone help me here?-that 'Love is no good. Puts you at effect'.

Now that I think about it, It might have been one of the things his oldest son 'Nibs' reported that he said, but I believe it. That fits right into his 'ultra thelemic' true beliefs.

He was big on being 'at cause', and preaching such, while covertly putting all his followers 'at effect' as he would put it.

Warm fuzzies for Felice!

You picked one of my favorites. we met when I was in grade school. He encouraged me to go to USC.
In his book titled "Love", I am the boy in the tree. We had an interesting conversation.

Aw, honey! I began working with kids with challenges largely because of that man...he was a GREAT teacher and a big inspiration to me! :happydance: I have all his books. What a loving being he was...his lecture series must be on youtube somewhere for Vadim to see.

(Hey, psssttt! I love all you guys, too!) :D

Dispersion - Prism

Hi, Trendy!

I won't answer about sex. It's not the subject here.

Considering "Affinity" as "a degree of...", we might compare it to the right side of the picture:

Considering "Love" we might compare it to the left side of the picture.

They may look incomparable, but try comparing:
Love vs. affinity/emotions/feelings with
White Light vs. other colors

"Until Newton's work became accepted, most scientists believed that white [light] was the fundamental color of light; and that other colors were formed only by adding something to light. Newton demonstrated this was not true by passing white light through a prism, then through another prism".

Life without Love

Duty without love makes one irritable.

Responsibility without love makes one impudent.

Fairness without love makes one cruel.

Truth without love makes one merciless critic.

Upbringing without love makes one twofaced.

Intellect without love makes one sly & cunning.

Affability and friendliness without love makes one hypocritical.

Blind love to order makes one captious.

Competence without love makes one boring.

Power without love makes one tyrant and oppressor.

Honor without love makes one arrogant.

Wealth without love makes one greedy.

Faith without love makes one fanatic.

Dear Vadim,

Thanks for the link and the beautifull poetry.

You can be understood Vadim.

What's wrong with the concept of Affinity?

What is Greatness?

Love is ultimately you when your Love is understanding.

It is an operative manifestation of it through the three components of the ARC triangle.

Take a new look at it and I hope you'll see the value of this concept.

Thanks to LRH who brought it for us to use and worked it all out.

MostlyLurker about affinity.

I would change ability into desire: affinity is the desire to occupy the same space

Anyway I doubt LRH really loved anyone except himself.

Hi ML and thanks for answering my post.

I think it's the first time we meet so warm welcome in my universe.

I feel deep inside the Love from LRH and I know I'm far from alone in that case. In my quality of Ron Personal PPRO I give it to you and wish you can share it.

Is it a desired affinity you're talking about?

Affinity has to see with distance and space that is by definition a consideration.

As spirits we have the ability to occupy spaces and positions at will.

Do you Love me?

Yeah, I had just learned how to climb tree's and set out to climb every tree in the neighborhood.

The principal was not too pleased that I left the campus to climb a tree. He was kind of a jerk. It was only across the street.

Leo went to bat for me and talked the principal out of any punishment.

I found it interesting that he asked what my dad did for a living that maybe I could go to USC. I wasn't even eleven yet.

Hello JBTrendy :)

The change of the word from ability to desire in the definition stems from the experience I had that I can have affinity for someone who is not close. How much I wants him in my space or close to me or in my thoughts shows the affinity, but the ability to have him near me does not.

About the affinity for LRH, I used to have affinity for him when he was answering my letters, when I was listening to his messages at his birthday events, when I was reading some of his HCOBs or books.

Then I found out that it was not him answering my letters and that the SO#1 line was basically a lie, a detection line used by management to probe people. Then I found out that it was not LRH writing his messages to scientologists at events, but Robert Vaughn Young was. :omg: Then I found out that he was not the sole souce of the tech, but took many ideas and precesses from his research auditors and other sources without credit. Then I found that he had others to write many HCOPLs or HCOBs for him, signing them with his name again without credit, but blaming them in case the policy/bulletin happened to be wrong. Then I learned that he didn't die as an OT like the cult told us, but died a week after a stroke wile in hiding from the FBI, from his family, and learned that scientology do not produce OTs, I had been lied. :duh: Then I found out how much damage he did to people, to his 3 wives, to "squirrels", to his kids and to the many people he and his organization declared "Suppressive" and I felt somehow ashamed to have supported him and his organization for so many years. Then I took a deep look at my own life, at my 20 years of membership in the cult, at my gain and losses, at the lies I have been told, the promises, the money paid, the time wasted, the friendships and love lost, and concluded that my life would have been better without LRH and Scientology around.

But all that is me. If you had processing, got your wins and your life improved and you didn't ingested too much Sea Org crap then is understandable to have affinity for him, and you should not invalidate that. It is also ok to promote the same principles that helped you. But if you promote the man, then you should be aware of the dark side that comes with him that you giving to people.

Yes, I love you, even if we disagree on LRH. :coolwink:
