OT Levels - What Benefits?

Obviously, the "OT levels" don't produce "OTs."

The "wins" noted in this thread sound like some things one might expect on an old "Comm Course," or Dianetic auditing, or even a touch assist.

The difference is that with the "OT levels," the person is invited on a tour of the fun-house-mirrored Hubbard labyrinth.

Unfortunately, some never make it out.

My understanding was that the OTs were really "pre-OTs" and it was going up the full bridge that made them full OTs. This could explain why OTs really weren't acting like OTs.

I also would like to throw out the idea that some went onto OT (i.e., pre-OT) levels without being stably and truly Clear. I think what one would be in hazard of producing from that would be a Polarized OT (pre-OT) at best. I certainly saw a lot of polarized OTs (pre-OTs).

I did up to and including OT 7 in the early 70's.

A few minutes ago-I fixed my refrigerator!
Back in the day-I would be thinking that it was my OT tr's and intention that I used to fix said machine. Now as a "wog"- I simply read the instruction manual and applied the instructions and that fixed the problem. Time changes how we look and think about things--I'm truly sorry for those who think their $500,000.00 investment gives them extra ordinary abilities as opposed to 'wogs". It is a matter of perspective--not OT ness-particularly in my case.
No--the OT levels were-for me-a waste of time-oh- I did learn how to fool myself...lol.

As long as there are suckers out there willing to part with their money ... there will always be more OTs levels to help them part with their money. If you haven't figured out it's a con game by time you hit OT8, you deserve to get conned out of the rest of your money on principle alone.

I either read it in one of the books in the 70's or it was a letter signed "EL RON"

I seem to remember that line being used years ago when I was on staff. People were being encouraged to go deeply into debt or otherwise spend money they didn't feel they could afford to spend and were led to believe that their ability to make money will be dramatically increased as they go up the bridge. And for some, maybe that was true, but for many others it was not.

More Fun on OT2

I'm still astonished at what is being turned on and off on this level. Using very simple processes, repeater technique, which comes from Book 1 DMSMH.

I experienced heavy anaten ( analytical attenuation) in one session. In fact for 10 minutes or so I couldn't carry on with the process. After a couple of hours it seemed flat. I decided I would take what I was running up again, as it seemed very possible I had just run out of energy or something.

Later that day I was reading posts on various forums and I felt the anaten return. I was very surprised! This has never happened to me before no matter how boring the material. I was sitting there wondering what the hell was going on. Then it dawned on me, that the concepts I'd been running were very relevant to what I was reading. I was quite correct about them not being flat!

So next day found more to run. Felt very good at the finish. Happy and playful. This level is an adventure. A bit like a roller coaster ride in the dark. Fun but one dosn't know what will happen next. And I've still got nearly all of it to come.

I remember that too. It seemed a bit nutty.

True "OT" levels are free.
There seems to be huge MU's on what defined a level. For many it was just processing and attesting.
My first experience with what I called levels was more like realizing and re-having a spiritual point of view and amazing things I once did....along with the arrogance.

Are "OTs " produced?

The evidence from scn and all other disciplines is best I know, sporadically.

Wins on "OT" levels are wins.

Wins on comm course and dianetic auditing can be spectacular.

Touch assist? As a beginner did one, the recipient thought I cured a broken back. She got up and walked.

How astonishing! I have seen a lot of people in the libary reading, reflecting, getting distracted, perking up.
Or so I thought.
Now I know they were all doing OT2. Like wow!

Well been in libraries also.

Thanks all, for your replies so far in answering a fairly private set of questions.

When I got into Scilonism in 1972, the Grade Chart openly listed the Abilities Gained for each OT level that was released at the time, I believe thru OT 7. Does any of you out there have a copy of this old grade chart and if so would you post the abilities gained by level?

One of the abilities listed was 'ability to influence the universe of another' or some such and I remember the franchise ED telling some of us staff one night about how when he'd done his OT levels at St. Hill he'd tested his newly gained ability while in East Grinstead one Sunday morning and remotely caused a preacher to lose his train of thought and his delivery mid-sermon.

It was always the lure of such OT abilities that baited the trap of Scn for me. Was it the same for any of you?
