Receipt of Suspect Emails

I just received a suspect email. The subject matter was essentially ragging on about Marty Rathbun, notably about his "questionable tech", as I would characterize it. Nothing terribly surprising one way or another, although I would hazard a guess that its origins lie with the church as some sort of "denigration & disinformation campaign.

Now I would no more seek to defend Rathbun in a p!ssing match with the church as I would strive to make the Co$'s case for them. But I do find the very receipt of such an email in my public email account as worth noting.

For the record the email came from a hushmail account ([email protected]), a mail site which is often used to avoid direct attributions. Moreover the mail was indicated it came from a '[email protected]'. I'd guess that that might possibly refer to a Peter G. Nelson? The email address itself indicates an australian connection of some sort, whether the id is legitimate or pseudonymous.

Anyway, what is clear is that I've no idea who this person is. This person is apparently targeting freezoners & independents for a private mail campaign without any regard as to whether he is known to his addressees. And additionally this person, whether under his own id or some fictional persona, is embarked upon a campaign which clearly intends to publicly discredit Rathbun as an alternative to the church.

Once more, FWIW, I've no particular concern with regard the contents of the email one way or another. Neither Rathbun nor the Co$ represent anything for which I've respect. I simply find the email's sudden appearance in my inbox as suspect.

Many ex's, including myself received the email today...

"We’ve been wondering lately about Marty Rathbun’s flair for self-promotion and whether the so-called “guru” of Bulverde, Texas is more content indulging in showmanship than he is in guiding hisclients on the path to self-knowledge.

A look at Rathbun’s blog shows a couple of vanity books he has authored, a self-idolizing photo of himself – dressed in his classic Southern “good old boy” look – and a page from a magazine in which he appeared. We’re curious if Rathbun uses these images as marketing tools to sell books or to attract media notoriety since he obviously likes the attention of hostile Scientology media outlets.

Or, perhaps he feels that they give him a stamp of approval – a measure of gravitas – among his clients, a group that is characterized by infighting, backbiting and whose loyalties seem to shift with the tide.

At any rate, Rathbun is a busy man these days – penning a new book, taking calls from the press and attacking L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology by linking to his sometime pals Tony Ortega and John Sweeney. It does appear, however, that Rathbun has been trying to chill out of late as he discusses philosophy and literature in his blog postings, rambling entries that often run far afield from the altered tech that used to be at the core of his counseling.

Maybe he and wife Monique “Mosey” Rathbun, who many call Marty’s accomplice in his delivery of altered tech, are still getting used to their land-locked Texas compound, no doubt pining for the balmy breezes wafting off the Gulf outside their previous home where they could easily throw a line in the water or take a boat out on the bay.

Those seaside surroundings also served as a little bonus for counseling clients who, after an altered tech session, could unwind by joining their “guru” on a little fishing expedition. Recreation wise, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot to do in Bulverde. Then again, there’s always New Orleans, Rathbun’s favorite “steam valve release” destination and, after all, Mardi Gras is just around the corner. But the Crescent City might just engender some bad memories for the couple.

While we don’t see any point in dredging up the past, we are reminded that the Big Easy was where they spent their honeymoon, a tawdry and embarrassing episode in which Rathbun wound up getting cuffed in an alley for drunk and disorderly conduct while Mosey drunkenly danced the night away in a Bourbon St. hole in the wall,
getting groped by fellow patrons. At any rate, even a “guru” deserves a break, and maybe that’s what Rathbun and Mosey are doing these days, just chilling. We can only imagine the domestic bliss in the Rathbun household as Mosey cooks the meals and does the dishes while her “hubby” pecks away on the computer, working on his next vanity publication masterpiece.

Where this leaves Rathbun’s clients is anyone’s guess. Counseling wise, maybe they’ve gone off to find greener pastures and another “guru,” one who doesn’t seem so dispersed and who doesn’t require the fawning adulation that Marty Rathbun has come to expect. Rathbun always thought highly of himself – so highly that he often tends to look down on people. It’s a phenomenon that some call “Going Hollywood,” when someone is so impressed with themselves it goes right to their heads.

In rural Texas it would probably be called “getting too big for your britches.” It’s an attitude that’s easy to detect, and it could definitely be an impediment to attracting new or repeat counseling clients."

I suspect Dan Sherman was behind the smear.

The cult really needs to employ some wog copywriters for these kind of smears and the monotonous newbie-wants-to-try-sci nonsense on ESMB.
The cult speaks in an accent that is unmistakeable, but the cult seems blithely unaware that they have one. Reminds me of the mammoth that thinks she is a possum in Ice Age. Just because she wraps her tail around a tree branch and sleeps upside down, doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't see the tusks and think whacko.

I'm not a fan of Marty. I have read a few attacks on him, some fair, some unfair imo, but it is only the ones from the cult that make me want to take a bath. The accent oozes a reptilian malevolence that rebounds very badly onto the writer. After only a few sentences I wasn't thinking of Marty at all, but the twisted person writing it and how much the cult disgusts me.

The writer didn't smear Marty, but made him look like a persecuted innocent. God God. That is some talent.

Yep.

When people live in a concentration camp cut off from the outside world they can write stupid stuff that makes them look foolish and weird. Stuff like dissen Bulverde, a town that is 25 miles by Expressway from Downtown San Antonio.

Bulverde has an average houshold income of around $110,000, is over 70% white collar with an averge net worth of over $700,000. The area around Bulverde is part of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, dotted with Country Estates, Ranchettes and Ranches and abundant wildlife, Oak trees and fishing rivers, ponds and lakes.

San Antonio is the 2nd largest city in Texas, the States' #1 tourist destination and a World renowned place to visit. It is the hub and jumping off point for the most popular in-state vacation, out of state and foreign tourist and National Convention Center area in Texas. San Antonio is also the home of tons of Oil & Gas Companies (including Valero), Manufacturing Companies (the most modern Toyota Plant in the World), a Major U.S. Medical Center and large Military Bases. The town is famous for it's food, hospitality, ambience and Texican charm.

It's also the home of the attorny that's been cuttin' DM's pecker off, one slice at a time.:coolwink:

Let's not forget that the mayor of San Antonio is a Stanford grad with a law degree from Harvard, was keynote speaker at the Democratic convention, and is a powerhouse working to raise education, business, and quality of life issues for San Antonio. He's young too.

Here is the link for Hushmail abuse: https://www.hushmail.com/contact/abuse/

Just copypasta the headers, and tell them it is hate mail. They shut the accounts down pretty quick. Admittedly, these are usually done in the "drive-by" style of character assassination, using throwaway accounts, but it does create a record of "patterns of abuse".

Scn has a VERY small foot print in Texas. Texas is the 2nd most populated State in the US (27 MM). Houston is the 4th largest city in the US (2.3 MM, 6.3 MM Metro) and is the largest City in the US without an Org. San Antonio is the 7th largest US city (1.4 MM, 2.4 MM Metro), is the fastest growing major city in the US and the 2nd largest US city without an Org.

The Cof$ never has Groked Texas or Texans. When you ask the Cof$’s online Org Locator for the nearest Org to San Antonio it comes up with Dallas. Dallas is 325 miles from SA…the Austin Org is 75 miles from SA! :duh:

Texas Justice has a long History of protecting the rights of its’ Law Abiding John Q citizens and standing up to Major Corporations and the Federal Government in that stead…even for “Defrocked SP Apostates” like Debbie of ARC and Marty, CommodeDoor’s Legacy Protector. :melodramatic:

Face:)

PS: If Texas was a Country, it would be the 14th largest GDP Nation on Earth..sandwiched between Russia and Australia.

PPS: Lawrence Wright is a Texan.

I've been getting emails like that for about a year or so now. As mentioned earlier, a lot of exes are getting them.

BTW, the Cof$ obviously does not know that trying to compare Ingleside On The Bay/Corpus Christi to Bulverde/San Antonio is like comparing a Ford to a Ferrari.

Marty and his Suckerfants can get to downtown San Antonio in less time than they could get to downtown Corpus Christi (pop. 310 k, 470 k metro) from The Shack 1.0.

Face:)

PS: The average houshold income for Ingleside OTB is about $58,000 and Net Worth is near $630,000...61% white collar.

To me, this is a slight departure for the cult, that it highlights that doing scientology at home, in whatever capacity, it's the most effed up thing in the world you could possibly do. That is one hellava Doubt Formula starter pack for those disgusted with things within scientology doors.

How much self determinism is involved with being told what to think, what to do at home, what to not do, whom not to talk to - fuck that. That IS control, which is the opposite of Freedom. Freedom will never be found in chains.

Over time, the cult has become even more obviously demented.

I really didn't think that could happen.

The cult is publicly doing itself in.... more & more.

Good show !

I, for one, am quite happy for the Co$ to attack Marty's lot and vice versa.
I applaud them for trying to destroy each other; they are both dustbins full of doggy do.
I wish them all great success.
