Okay, you think there is bullying of Mark Baker.

Who are you talking about? Me? Veda? Who exactly?

Did you click "DISLIKE" to let the person know their post sucked?

Did you report this as a rules violation?

Why aren't the administrators stopping these outlaws?

If you are talking about me, will I be getting a vacation? :hysterical:

You mean you haven't been on vacation all along? :confused2:

Yes, you are very mean to Mark HH. And now you're being mean to the Panda man too! :bigcry:

Nobody can stop an outlaw like you. Can't be done, you're just too slick. Like the road-runner. Beep-beep.

Sometimes my head feels like it's stuffed full of cotton with a dinnner bell inside playing The Wiggles tunes. That ever happen to you guys?

Or maybe it was that plant check I got 20 years ago...

Pirate & Bum - yeah, definitely scitz :omg::omg::omg::omg:

I actually admire Mark Baker. Amongst other things, I admire his ability to hold his position in the face of relentless criticism and, dare I say it... of course I do, bullying.

There seems to be a level of tolerance for violations of the Board's "be courteous to others" Rule Of Conduct when it comes to Mark that sometimes astounds me. Perhaps the attitude is that Mark brings it on himself or encourages it but I'm not sure that's true. Mark, is that true?

In any event, Baker-Baiting is the thing I most dislike about ESMB. Luckily for me, there are a hundred other things about ESMB which I like immensely.

"Look around here and find something you don't have to chew up."

Mark is one of my fave posters, always has been.

His isn't trying to 'indoctrinate' anyone here, he's just holding his own beliefs close and is willing to engage in some 'verbal interchange' (lol) on the subject now and again.

Hoaxie, instead of bullying Mark why don't you try making him wrong with posts filled with long words and strategically placed icons. :whistling:

And also use lots of Scilon terminology and Hubbardian axioms. :eyeroll:

I mean come on, level the playing field! :whistling:

And don't be so damn anti-scientology for elron's sakes! :eyeroll:

I like Mark, Veda, and Hoaxie. I couldn't imagine ESMB without them. Hell I even hope Terril's ban is only temporary. He's so cute when Veda accuses him of having a Scieno agenda. :coolwink:

When I was in Scn I thought the SPs, Squirrels & Jokers&Degraders were mean.

Later, I was overwhelmed by evil and went into the winning valence.

But Scientologists always say they are winning.

So now I am confused. Who is actually the winning valence? LOL.

SCIENTOLOGY KOAN: If I get an LX List and blow the winning valence--and I blow both Jokers&Degraders AND Scientologists--whose valence is left for me to be in and handle if I want to get more auditing?

No disagreement with anything you have said.

But even people far more graceful than myself have to give Mark a good, well-deserved, frank talking to at times. Maybe some think that he is "deserving" more often than others, but I think you would agree that his posts don't always produce "big wins" in others. LOL.

Yesterday you responded to Mark on the "Apollo Thread" as follows:

"Telling someone 'they pulled it in' is never helpful (however it is worded or by whom) and is very rarely meant to be.

I did not 'pull in' my children disconnecting and I don't need to read this endless sciolike drivel from you or anyone else (you would call that 'non confront' and 'HE&R') and this is the last time I will be discussing anything that matters (to me) with you or anyone else with your mindset, due to already knowing exactly what your thoughts are and finding them cold, predictable and a complete waste of time."

Personally, I think whatever you had to say at that moment was heartfelt and well stated.

Maybe it was a momentary response or maybe you still feel that way. It doesn't matter. In any case, it was a direct and truthful response and I think that is what makes ESMB brilliant. I wouldn't be here if that freedom was not enjoyed by all posters.

Veda, Bill and Panda are some of my favourite posters here. (You too, HH, when your humor is LIGHT!)

I like when Veda and Bill point out when a subject has been changed, a question not answered, and/or provide clear, rational answers that slice through the Hubbardian double-speak confusion. Panda does this too, but differently - with a certain warmth that is typical of his personality.

And as long as we're on the subject: Veda, for the life of me, I can't understand why you argue with Panda. :confused2: Panda is not a Scn anymore, doesn't defend it or Hubbard and doesn't think like one, either. Maybe there are old arguments between you, idk, but I find both your views, as well as Bill's, to be very close to my own so I don't get it.

Mark is certainly capable of taking care of himself in any discussion and doesn't need me or anyone else to stand up for him, but he's not out to get recruits for Scn, either. He just thinks what he does. We're all at our worst when we're on the defensive, or frustrated or angry, aren't we? :pullhair: I know I am. :storm: And I know when I'm that way, NObody is going to change my mind or get me to look at something else, no sirree. Maybe that's not much of a yardstick to use - my personal views - but I don't see how getting another person on the defensive helps anyone.

Just my two pence worth. :soapbox: I'll step off the box now.

Carry on... :carryon::cheers2:

When you were a happy Scientologist applauding Ron's picture I was decoding Scientology. I spotted that manipulation. And now you're spotting it too. In ten years you'll agree with what I wrote here today. :)
I doubt very much that I'll agree in such a way, regardless of the passage of time, I'm talking about your ideas about "dishonesty and manipulation" and I just don't see it the way that you do.

You and I are very different people and have different views. I know you like to point to the the "recently out" tag as being some kind of pigeonhole for me and you've labelled me as being many things (water-under-the-Bridge, lol, AFAIC) but if you really want an accurate pigeon hole/label for me, you couldn't go far wrong with "Not Me".

Thank you, Gottabrain. I too appreciate Veda and Bill's posts (and,of course, those of yours and almost every other person posting on ESMB), I've sent every single exiting scientologist I know to Bill's "Ask The Scientologist" Blog. http://askthescientologist.blogspot.com.au/

It is, IMO, one of the best ever for people questioning the CofS and scientology. Bill's essays are extraordinarily good and helped me a lot when I was sorting things out.

I don't have a problem with anyone here, to be honest, I'm expressing an opinion about the way Mark has/is being been treated by some posters here. I don't use the Dislike Button, I say what I mean.
Maybe I'm feeling like it's time for a Crusade? We haven't had one of those for a while.:horse:

Thanks, I know what you are talking about.

I am extremely aware that some want me to be light, stay light and post light. I know it can make some people uncomfortable when I stray from that request. It can even seem dark or "bullying" and I always notice when someone in the audience gets restless, starts fidgeting or making those "tsk tsk tsk" sounds. I am very aware of when posters are obliquely talking about something I posted that they thought was too too aggressive.

If I am not sure, I just ask them but seldom if ever get a direct answer where they point to me, personally, and i know that they don't do it as a courtesy or out of kindness. But I did ask. LOL.

I also observe when there is a disturbance in the force and a few "Hey Mark is amazing" posts pop up out of nowhere (to the rescue) and try to right the perceived imbalance. I see it all play out very clearly and weigh what people are saying to see if I have gone overboard or if they are talking about someone else's posts.

I did a lot in my life to earn personal freedom and I cherish it. So I enjoy the right to say what I think. It is one of the things I ended up truly detesting about Scientology and Scientologists. The relentless effort to re-route thoughts and speech into a pre-approved pattern. I reject that entirely.

I don't mind that some prefer my "light" humor.

And I don't mind that others prefer my "dark" humor.

In my mind there is no difference. They are both just expressions of what is felt or thought.

Even when I was in Scientology I greatly loved when someone would speak honestly and directly to me without packaging their words into acceptable truths. To me, that is very little value and when I talk to someone I like to be as kind as I can while not giving up who I actually am.

Honestly? In Scientology everyone's communication dial was crazy-glued to the "theta" setting. There was just one radio channel allowed. Only one tv station could be watched. I think it's utter lunacy to live like that.

If someone has something to say what difference does it make if it comes out "light" or "edgy" if it is a real communication?

I always go out of my way to bend over backwards to make people feel comfortable. But if I think they are being dishonest or muddying up the water, that is something I don't passively grit my teeth and hope will pass. I stand up and say something. If I saw someone disseminating Scientology to a wog, if I had the chance (and it has happened often) I would take special time and care to tell the wog what he could expect if he gets involved. That is kindness.

I had enough Scientology lies and spin. I don't accept it. I reject it thoroughly, no matter how it is packaged. That is the humane thing to do in my ethical belief.

I am acutely aware of social protocols and have regular meetings with persons of all stations in life from the street-sweeper to the "top" of major corporations & enterprise and maybe I have beers with guys in a biker gang, too. I don't have any problem modulating and "dialing in" to any wavelength that makes things fun or interesting. I also regularly conduct meetings with very technical, scientific and medical industry pioneers and visionaries too, and there is never any problem. People leave those conferences with smiles and good feelings. Sometimes 'inspired' is a word that people say in thanks. I can do that when I want to, but only if it is appropriate. But if I want to say something I say it. Not out of compulsion or lack of manners--but instead because I think it is a perfectly good and constructive idea that keeps things real.

So, I am glad you like the light stuff and don't mind if you tune out the offensive material or scold me in a post if you have that feeling.

I like when things are honest.

I will tell you that if I am about to post something that is pretty edgy (even for me) I always pause a moment and think if I want to hit the send button. 99.9% of the time I think, "why not? that's what i actually think or feel" and don't try to police my own thoughts. PAUSE.....CLICK.....SEND. LOL

If my style of posting becomes a hazard to the board and moderators decide to send me on temporary or permanent vacation, I don't mind that either. I loved the time I had here and wouldn't change a thing.

I walked in saying what I had to say and I would exit the same way.

I will keep posting until someone crashes the sledgehammer of "he's gone too far this time!" down upon my mouse. :hysterical:

And I'd be second, right after Mark.

I'm not asking for much, really, just...

1. Treat others with respect.
You are to respect every other user on the board despite any personal, religious and political differences. The following will not be tolerated:
  • Personal insults
  • Ad hominems
  • Threats or promotion of violence

WHO are you talking about?

WHO is violating the rules you keep posting?

Are you talking about me, Panda?

Why don't just say what you are thinking?

WHO? WHAT VIOLATIONS? WHY ARE THE OUTLAWS NOT BEING MODERATED AND MADE TO DELETE THEIR POSTS?

Specifics are good.

See? There's one of my bad-bad-bad posts. Don't read this people! LOL
