"The L Ron Hubbard Series is now in every library in America -a 100% done"

I checked the Los Angeles Public Library, which has 73 branches. I just checked 3 of these books - there is a single copy of each in the Central Library and they are not checked out.

"Scientology: the Fundamentals of Thought book-on-film is now in every lending library on earth"

Not a single copy is available in the Los Angeles Library system.

Here's another interesting one:
"The How to Use Dianetics DVD was translated and made available to 75% percent of Earth's population"

Interesting..... I wonder if Idle Morgue has heard about that. S/he is looking for evidence for that huge lawsuit.

Edit s/he - I just assumed it was a she because of how they write.....

New York Library with over 200 branches - the same situation.

Here is what I think happens. Poor unfortunate Scientologists have very likely spent their money and donated these books to every branch BUT
libraries are not going to clutter up their libraries with this kind of trash, so they either dump them or sell them.

Some more info - I'm sorry if this whole library thing has been covered before

Broward County Florida has plenty of books.. But not one for each library.. At most 7 copies of Dianetics but more like one, two or three of other titles.. If that helps. Certainly not every book on every shelf.. And many are pulp novels.. Even three copies of Battelfield Earth :duh:

Thought I'd look while I was checking the hold stats for Going Clear :) 16 copies of that in the system currently 8 checkout, 8 more processing for shelf still and 28 holds!!! Wright wins!

from a chat on FB Friday 25 Jan 2013

Arnie, two huge boxes of books arrived at our local library (recently). They were from Bridge Productions. Our library director opened one of the boxes and it had the first of about 20 books on LRH & Scientology. The other box had the remaining 10. These were not shoddy books - very high quality and loaded with the usual predictable misinformation. Our library director taped up the boxes and asked the UPS man if he could refuse them. UPS guy said sure, so back they went. I signed for them to go back. Apparently C of S has sent these books to every library in (deleted) State, and many of our local ones have refused them.

may I anonymize this and post it?
Absolutely!

I just checked out "Going Clear" by Lawrence Wright! There were 80 copies in the system and only 2 available!! The library had "Inside scientroll-ogy" and many others revealing the CULT's abuse - NOT ONE of El Con's books were in the system...NOT ONE!!

If you shop on Amazon and put in Scientology in the search bar - you will not find much - the first one's that come up are all of the scathing books written about the dangers of Scientology and the CON that it is!!

Just checked our local library system. There are a fair number of Hubbard books, a fair number or exposes, and Going Clear has a 45 person waiting list.

Just checking in from the edge of the planet to let you know the New Zealand library system still remains relatively "clear" of the Scientology mindfuck. In Wellington, for example, there are about a dozen public libraries and a grand total of eight L Ron Hubbard non-fiction (heh!) items, all of which are "available". And, last time I looked, all have a complimentary "You Found The Card" insert ; )

There was an interesting paper published last year in the Journal of Librarianship and Information Science which looked at how
libraries deal with unsolicited donations, using Scientology as an example. It focuses mainly on Germany and France but I would imagine
the response from librarians to donations would be similar the world over. Quoted below is an excerpt on the responce from France.
A copy of the paper can be found here lis.sagepub.com/content/early/2012/07/19/0961000612452031.full.pdf

According to the French dossier New Era Publications contacted French libraries in 2007 with an offer of a specially
prepared set of 18 books by Lafayette Ron Hubbard, but did not receive one positive response from 60 calls. In the
following year it sent consignments of these books to a total of 235 school and public libraries, without the prior agreement
of the libraries. Follow-up calls were then made to all of these libraries, resulting in 179 usable responses and 56
contacts that did not constitute a direct answer to their questions. Of the 179 libraries responding, only six accepted the
consignment, and 173 destroyed or otherwise disposed of the books. This total breaks down into 135 that definitely
destroyed or ‘lost’ the books, 14 that refused to say how they had disposed of the books, eight that put the books into
storage, six that handed the books on to users or other institutions, four that asked how to return the books without
incurring costs, four that claimed to have already returned the books and two that had definitely returned the books. To
further test the response, the Scientologists sent members to request the latest edition of Hubbard’s Dianetics (with
little success), examined public library websites and established that the online catalogue Electre excluded titles by
Hubbard on the grounds that they were self-published. Taken all together this represents a comprehensive rejection
of Scientology material and information about it by the French library system.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I look forward to other libraries doing the same. You did the right thing and happy that you did, for you more likely saved an individual from the dangerous cult’s con, let alone fraud they are now being sued for in Florida.

Da word is out ! :happydance:

Just checked with my local library if they have any scilon books. Answer is no, but more so the search engine gives results that are near the given search word scientology. Books about scoliosis and Scooby Doo show up!

You might enjoy this in your discussion of scientology books in the library. Courtesy WWP.

Edit. My snip job cut off some of the librarians' discussion. Here's a link to WWP with the full image: https://whyweprotest.net/community/...-down-like-bird-sh.108358/page-6#post-2266089.

Denver (pop. 620,000) -- 2 copies of Going Clear 136 holds!
Dianutty (includes 2 in Spanish) 6 copies -- none checked out.
Nutterpedia = 0 copies -- don't have it.

I checked several small cities of around pop. 50,000 to 100,000 and no Scientology Org/mission and most have one copy or Going Clear with an average of 10 holds. Some have it on order. Lookin' good. I believe the rise of this book is just starting. Everyone who reads it is going to talk about it to their friends.

Simple online library searches should convince clams that the Nutterpedia Library Donation program is a scam. And this isn't the type of series any one individual is shelling out for as they would one book. They need to face that even library systems in large cities do not accept this trash clogging their shelves. In other words, the demand for the Nutterpedia outside of clams forced to buy it, is similar to people who want to own a $6,000 bronze bust of Dr. Hubtard.
