I have a hard time with delivering Scientology:

2) I have not yet resolved my concern with auditing. That concern is the question of what is being run in while auditor and pc have attention on running something out. Veda's comments about OT-3 is a prime example. I will relate from my own experience:

That's where I am at.

Yep.

I can't really articulate it well, but "stuff" IMO, that's not immediately discernable is getting laced into and latched around a being on a lot of parts of the “Tech”.

I'm not going to name names but I knew, knew of, and got audited by some damn fine auditors.

Many times some people got hung up on what " class " an auditor was as if a IX had to better than an VIII which was supposed to be better than a VI which was supposed to better than a IV.

Baloney. I saw CS after CS pick a IV to auditor their spouse or kids when higher classed auditors were available.

There was always more to being an auditor who was extremely effective than just getting through the internship.

And there have been great auditors.

And I strongly suspect people gravitated to them for help long before they were auditors - and long after they ceased to audit " in the chair ".

Best session I ever had was from Student Auditor giving his first session.

Jachss,

I have made a number of posts in the past re: my “Take” on Mary Sue. The “Mary Sue factor” is actually a significant section of the concluding part of Part Fourteen, which I am working on.

If you wish, I will post the links to my past posts regarding Mary Sue.

Face:)

I do wish, that would be much appreciated face.

Maggie Wesley, in Santa Clara, CA circa about 1974, as a for instance, was a PC who started with my wife. Teri gave her some touch assists. EACH TOUCH of Teri's finger was painful. Maggie had systemic arthritis. She was 46 years old and couldn't get out of bed to go to the bathroom by herself. 18 months later, sessions with me about 6 days a week, each about 2 hours, she was jogging a PAR course (a trademarked exercise course) near her apartment. despite being on disability, and hence, losing it due to improved motion and capability.

Sorry, couldn't resist:

Blonde goes to doctor: "Every part of my body is sore."
"Can you touch your elbow?"
"Ouch!"
"Can you touch your knee?"
"Ouch!"
"Can You touch your nose?"
"Ouch!"
"Can you touch your chin?"
"Ouch!"

"OK, I'm pretty sure you have a broken finger."

I have one word for that: begets.

Running one thing often begets the next thing. Then running that begets something else. Hubbard framed this as "opening up the case." From a no-time-track, present-time-only perspective, there is just the appearance of stuff. The pc gives stuff significance, and relates self to it, and it to time, place, etc.

Think of the story of the Buddha under the Bodhi Tree. He reached a point where stuff appeared and disappeared on its own. Then bang, zoom, free! His effort was to be there and observe and pierce the veil. According to the story, he didn't go galavanting down a time-track to get where he wanted, i.e. no additional, unnecessary begetting.

Really good post. I definitely get this perspective. Definitely. [No, Hoffman's Rain Man part wasn't based on my character, but maybe it shoulda been (hint: not the savant portion)]

Of course according to the legend, he also had recall of his prior lifetimes wherein he had developed 'skillful means' of obtaining liberation. The life as Gautama was, according to the legend, to have been his last incarnation. Ergo, nothing to say he may not have already attained to the equivalent of 'release from time track' in prior lives. :whistling:

This is a fantastic thread

Face,
What you are saying truly comes from the heart. As a staff member from the period of 72 to 83 this has really cleared a lot of questions I had during those times. As our org was more on the outer fringe area (las vegas) we didn’t have that much exposure to the upper/inner SO groups. (Except for the time Quentin was found unconscious and later died in Las Vegas) We were always puzzled about the changes that kept coming from upper management, especially during the 80’s.

Thank you for sharing your insights.

I see that is true in all aspects of living.

There is an innate tendency in the course of living a life as an identified being to 'go into agreement with' all manner of things as being 'true', when in fact they are not 'true' but merely accepted conventions. This is effectively a form of 'implanting', and thus living is itself a process of 'implanting'. To the degree one spots this and can acknowledge to himself what is occurring he remains 'at cause'. Those most badly affected are those who don't recognize what is occurring and their own role in acceptance of such 'truth'.

Auditing as mental/spiritual processing facilitates the reduction of 'implanting', but as a factor in and process of life there is also a degree of 'implanting' involved.

It centers around to what degree has the individual accepted as 'true' the 'reality' of another. Accepting another's 'reality' as 'true' is the essential core of an implant. Communication requires some measure of understanding of another's 'reality'. To some degree there is a 'risk' of sharing that 'reality' as true for one's self. To the extent that occurs then to that degree there has been an implant.

Since the process of auditing requires two way communication there is ample opportunity for just such 'agreements as to truth' to form. With high level auditing there is a high degree of ARCU, which itself suggests a greater degree of shared reality, and one which is not recognized as potentially problematic precisely due to the high levels of 'affinity' as well as the other components of ARC. This can be rather like a really fundamental service facsimile, where a person resists giving it up as it is 'clearly & logically immensely pro-survival'. Just so with the 'shared reality' resulting from high ARCU. :)

Ultimately it works like filling up a bucket with a valve on it. The valve represents the potential for auditing, when 'open' then auditing is occurring, when 'shut' then no auditing is occurring.

That auditing is 'positive' wherein the water flow through the valve 'out' is of greater quantity than the amount of water simultaneously being 'poured in'. The water level in the bucket will drop. That auditing is 'negative' wherein the amount of water entering vastly exceeds the amount of flow through the valve e.g. the valve is only partially open, thus the auditing is ineffective. Water level in the bucket rises. Even when the valve is open so far all the water pouring in will eventually run out, as the water level continues to drop yet the bucket remains wet due to influx & passage of water through the bucket. The bucket never complete dries, not until all sources of in flow are stopped, and all the water flows out of the bucket. With good auditing though, you can definitely lighten the bucket load. :)
