As 3rd mo can onboard Apollo in '75 your "story" has filled in some gaping holes in my knowledge and perspective as to what went on "above decks". From the "nuts&bolts' pov it actually makes "sense" when you look at it from the "twisted lodgic source point". Why spend 20% more for something of VALUE (your FLAGSHIP for example), when you can buy an obsolete, worn out, off purpose application {a cattle ferry?} and then throw a million or so manhours [hey! it's slave labor so who cares] in to it, and come up with something thats "adequite" Same Shit Different Day with FLuB otherwise known as the Ft. Harrison.

As to; always something new, makes sense. If your poorly researched, cobbled together, wanna be "science" dosn't "work" when *standardly* applied, why there MUST BE something wrong with YOU requiring special handleing or a new rundown.

As I sat down to post this the song on the radio was U2's "And I still haven't found what I'm looking for", seems to sum up why all of us bit so hard on $cn and all the empty promises, or is it just me?

Without the slave labor El Ron's OEC/FEBC Admin "Tech" is Bupkis. Monolithic Command & Control structures don’t survive unless there is slave or underpaid labor, or they are supported by an income source that does not depend upon their efficiency, product quality or consistent customer satisfaction…to wit like Governments and Militaries.

I like the U2 song...Yeah, not having found what we're looking for kinda keeps Mankind going forward, IMO...problem was Scn and El Ron said they were 'It" and "IT"--what we were looking for--and some of Us, like Ole Knot Head here, made a miss Take.

Your story is truthful and painful, and I feel for you having to go through that life, I am so glad you were through it long ago, still it leaves its sting.

What is really wonderful is the you that shines through, you emerged from all that a wonderful thoughtful, clever and sensitive being...that is quite an achievement. It is also a hope for anyoe else, because you have proved it can be done whatever the proximity to hisself!

Your writing has been truly sensational. Calm, insightful and moving. You have explained how easy it is to delude ourselves, but how you emerged as a considerate sane individual, even though you were surrounded by madness, cruelty and bullying.

You are an inspiration and admirable person, you have all my love and respect...your posts have been excellent.

Your kind, caring and thoughtful words humble me and touch my Heart.

I think that the Folks that stayed or came in after I left the SO have had it much worse than I. From what I've read, and the direction I saw things were headed when I walked away, the pathology of the SO is far more acute, amoral and vicious today than in my Era.

IMO, folks coming "Out" from that today are gonna have it real rough trying to find their way back to themselves and re-entering the real World and it wears heavy on my Heart knowing that some, IMO, are so far gone they just ain't gonna make it. I say that not in absolution for what they have done by their own hands...I say that in sarrow for what they allowed themselves to become at the hands of others.

What "saved" me, what "brought me back, were my children...their Laughter, their Trust, their Love. I had to "Get my Head" toghether or their future would have been squandered by the foolishness of their Father's youth and naiveté.

I am not a Saint...far from it...but I was blessed with Angels to show me the way back to my Heart.

I wish I woulda known about all this in the '60's. I've read pretty much all that's out there re: El Ron and chatted with some Old Timers from the St. Hill days and the early Apollo days and it looks to me like Hisself just slowly but steadily deteriorated. However, it appears that the Apollo may have been a “tipping point”. I say “may have” as at St. Hill El Ron was more physically isolated and in less immediate proximity to all but a few folks than on the Apollo. Therefore, the only stuff we have to go on re: Hisself’s true “Personality” and behavior is from a few folks that were not in 24/7 proximity to El Ron. One of these is Urq and I doubt that he’s ever gonna let it all hang out and what he does let out is, IMO, judiciously edited and tempered.

There are True Believers…like good Ole Sarge…that the Indies look to as their “The Real El Ron” sources and I know for damn sure that they saw some of the same stuff Kima, Tonja, Laurel, Dart, yours truly and some others saw. Now some of them may not have seen as much as some the others but I know that not only did they see some stuff, they sure enough heard some stuff on the Skinny Line. However, we all have our “Filters” and some folks have “Blinders”.

Anyway, back to my Apollo as “Tipping Point” point...

Shooting Stars, Part Twenty One starts with the following quote:

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. ~Abraham Lincoln

El Ron’s Power Dominion over others on the Apollo far exceeded any Hisself here-to-fore had in the History of Scn...or anywhere, for that matter. Not only that, the complexity and challenges El Ron was facing in Hisself’s self-proclaimed “CommodeDoor” role far exceeded Hisself ability as a Manager, Commander and Leader. The ships were relic wrecks, the crew was primarily landlubbers, Hisself was “King without a Country” in search of one and, in Hisself’s mind, being pursued, watched and persecuted. Added to this is the fact that unbeknownst to all of Us, this vessel and mini navy far exceeded the size, complexity and trained support of the Command Hisself had been relieved of in WWII.

Bottom line? IMHO, El Ron was in over Hisself’s head and "cracked" a la Commander Queeg and kept on "cracking" right up to "blast off".

It's unclear to me whether you are perhaps still in doubt about this. Ron says there is a tech for when "a person cannot make up one's mind...."

I wouldn't want to evaluate for you, but perhaps applying the Doubt Formula would be helpful?

Delayed reaction on my part.

Yes, the guy who went thru the "wall of fire" for the first time and didn't nearly pull it off and hisself was sure nobody else figured out the secrets , but he did it, the secrets of the "wall of fire" so we could follow in his foot steps. He mapped it out.

And yet hisself last days or years was throwing a cup of powdered milk and claiming others are trying to poison his body, which of course hisself was total cause over and cause over others..

So Sorry Face, I must disagree slightly, Yes, crawl inside the large dryer but also take in with you a paper bag with 40 lbs of nut, bolts, washers and other various bits of sharply pointed scrap metal. THEN have someone with an air powered needle scaler taking the paint off the outside. (sheeze, if your going to "paint" a graphic portrait use ALL the colors) C-Ya DC
