Hats, don't worry about Johnny, he HAS (not had) many loyal friends who just simply love him. His daughter and about 5 of his friends spoke today and nearly all of them welled up with tears. On Facebook a group of them are gave formed a site for him, you can ask Johnny to Friend you and one of his closest friends will friend you for Johnny. They are still going to attempt to keep the wonderworld project going, again through Facebook for now.

By being at his memorial servuce today, like my trip to Soka University, where I felt that the Solka campus with the annual Festival going on was similar to how I envisions heaven would be, I got the same feeling the very next day but meeting with Johnny's friends and listening to many of them tell how big an impact Johnny played in their lives and how much they love him.

Check it out Hats! I know you are an a midwesterner part of the time and a southerner the rest of the time but with the internet and cell phones, you can still participate in Johnny's activities. BTW, Johnny was born in August of 1941 and died at age 73 1/2. This is not bad for a guy who detested health food and exercise.
Lakey

Thanks Lakey.
My birthday is August 3rd. Johnny was born on Aug the 4th 1941. A LOT was going on when he appeared in this world

I went with Purple Haze today to a Memorial Service for the recently deceased ex Scientologist, Johnny Rafanello. The event was was given in a Church of Religious Science, which until recently had been a theater for live performing arts in the San Fernando Valley.

There was a good turnout of 50 to 60 people. I ran into several old friends whom I once knew and a person whom I had heard of but never really got to know.

The people from the Church of Religious Science staged the Memorial Service. Their reverend said prayers and another one of their leaders gave a fantastic talk about Johnny's last two weeks. He also showed some videos of Johnny about 2 weeks before the end and 2 days before the end.

First the people whom I knew. They were headed up by Blue Spirit, a former big time ESMB member and devotee of this thread. Blue Spirit took my contact info and said he would call me. He sat across from me when we went for dinner after the service.

Next on the list of notables from the old days was R.G (Richard) Stewart. He was giving courses to Scientologists in the early 80's, teaching them how to flip real estate and make big profits, allegedly so that they could do their bridges. I attended one of his seminars at the time. In 1983, CoS decided to get rid of R.G. Steward, claiming that he was pulling people away from studying Scientology and getting them to go to his lectures instead. They declared him a suppressive person and kicked him out of the church.

The last old friend who I bumped into was Buck H. He sat down across from me after dinner was finished and people were just hanging around talking.. He didn't recognize me but I sure recognized him. We met at Jet Propulsion Labs in Azusa in 1971. We were the only two Scientologists at Jet Propulsion Labs at that time. He was working for JPL, the company founded by Hubbard's old buddy, Jack Partsons who was doing witchcraft and Magik at a large mansion in Pasadena, CA in 1945 through 1947.

Buck told me that some new tapes and books have come to light having to due with 3 aliens who crashed in an Airplane in Roswell, New Mexico. Buck has promised to send me emails supposedly authored by one of the aliens who survived the crash and was taught English by the Roswell authorities. He says the information in the 150 page book will blow my mind and may answer many of the questions which I have about life on Earth.

I really enjoyed attending the tribute to Johnny, the Magic Thetan, he has a large circle of friends who really adore him. I am also looking forward to receiving the communication which Buck has promised to send me.

As resident shaman I advise please direct all aliens to a local CoS for clearing.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

My personal opinion is that Minkowski's 'worldline', an attempt to express a location in 4 dimensions rather that 3, with time serving as the 4th dimension, would be of no value if it was used vis a vis the 'time track'. The only difference which I can see is that in one system an event is described by the 3 coordinates of space plus a time reading from a clock so as to totally pin down where and when the incident occurred. In the second system an event is described in 'spacetime' which pinpoints the 3 space coordinates and the time as a 4th separate dimension of space. Not much change, one still has to consult a clock to come up with the time dimension.

In Newtonian physics there are three space dimensions and one time coordinate. In Minkowski's worldline, time as an entity separate from space does not exist, instead, we have spacetime, a system which has 4 dimensions, 3 of which deal with the space coordinates and one which deals with a time coordinate.

Here is my own 2 cents on asserting that there is not any time. You can set things up so to work without mentioning a commodity called time if you are willing to include extra data detailing where various pieces of matter or energy are located. For example, you could say that lunch began at space coordinates X, Y and Z when that Sun was 30 degrees above the Eastern horizon and lunch ended at the same coordinates X,Y and Z when the Sun had advanced to 45 degrees above the Eastern horizon.

In this example, no time need be mentioned. All you need are space coordinates for an object, allegedly at rest, and then a description of movement of some other related object which has separate coordinates of its in in your space. It doesn't matter much what those second coordinated are but you have to know how much they moved in relation to the first fixed object's coordinates.

That basically is the same exact idea as looking at your wrist watch and seeing that a hand on it moved 45 minutes worth of time. The concept of time passage can be eliminated if you put in its place the relative movement between two objects within your space.

I don't see how time passage can totally be eliminated with no other changes. Time passage is tied directly to change of position of objects in space. If there is a space with objects and nothing ever moves with respect to something else, for all practical purposes, there is no time passage occurring in that space. If you want things to have the ability for things to move in your space, you either introduce the concept of time or your introduce the idea of separate objects moving with respect to each other. It is that simple. I don't see any other possibilities ever being discovered. That's just my opinion but I can't conceive of ever thinking outside that box in this universe.

I received a private message from Auditor's Toad stating that he did say hi to me in reply to my hi. The auditorium was very noisy and I was not able to hear his reply. He stated that on such a somber occasion as a memorial for his good friend Johnny's passing, he would not mar the beauty of the memorial service to his friend by being petty and vindictive to me and not responding to my hi.

I take him at his word. So, Auditor's Toad did reply to me and I was unable to hear it so I assumed that he did not reply. The error is mine and I apologize to him.

I'm sure Johnny is OK and having a ball wherever he is. I never met the guy except via the discussion board but I certainly felt very absolutely in tune with his view on things and I'm really sorry that he is lost to us here.

Bon Voyage!

Don't worry you are safe. It was issued in Taos, NM. All aliens are to report to the ideal orgs for indoctrination in the beliefs of reactive mind, engrams, and other magick tricks.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

The Newtonian version is quit different, in that it idealizes time, Lakey. Time and Space appear there as distinct. In the spacetime version there is no time insofar as time is an dimension of space.

The reason I care at all has nothing to do with mincing physics. It has to do with interest in how elimination of time affects the way humans understand consciousness and thinking. If the model of reality conforms to a view in which time does not exist then this affects the way humans understand metaphysics, their spiritual nature; specifically it affects the way scn models reality and devises its cures. It affects it because the time track, engrams, as-ising, and most every construct including hubbards adoption of the Freudian unconscious goes out the window since they all require a false foundation in time and since they reinforce a psychology of time, the solidity of time.

When something is said, like there is no time, it affects other truths. There is no vaccuum in which to accept quantum physics and yet continue to slumber in the fairytale of time as real. Sure, for practical purposes we can note time, as a measurement of movement. To base a metaphysical 'tech' on time however is a problem. I posted not really to discuss physics. But to discuss the consequences of the above in relation to the mind. How is the fact of no time affect the human animal? Not at all since usually he refuses to believe or accept it and continues to think in time-forms. To stay in time-forms is fine. All of the CoS processes except objectives are stuck in time forms. A FZ solution would be to run incidents by asking where it is not when, I mean physically in relation to the client. How far is it from you now. Or where do you believe in time? Find that location, Etc.

Re: The old days - Aboard the Apollo - 1973

P.S. And I am not advising running anything (because what would that really comprise) since this bumps squarely into the question I mentioned in a blog post, the problem of as-ising.

If as I conjecture as-ising does not happen, something does sometimes happen that has remained obscure. Human beings are often more comfortable when their truths are clear and brightly illuminated. The feeling of security is a strong hypnotic. It is easy to accept things as true because they satisfy psychologically (win/relief) but such a truth might be far from true. The way to face a ruin I feel, is to face it, not mask it. Keep the enemy closer, and that includes our deepest fear.

I believe that is basically what I said in my post, maybe I didn't express it clearly but that's what I was attempting to say.

Oi Vey! Talk about thinking outside the box, the concept of a metaphysical existence with no time is not only out of the box but out of this universe!!

I see not just Hubbard's technologies being torpedoed out of existence but most other subjects suffering the same fate. Of course, physics would go down the drain, chemistry as well, music, painting, dramas, cinemas and just about all art other than still art vanish as well. A better question might be to ask, "what remains?" Still art would remain, calculus would vanish in a heart beat but other more basic concepts of math might be possible, such as addition and subtraction, although those concepts imply change and change does tend to suggest time passage. What appears to remain is that empty space is possible, a spirit is possible and a spirit occupying a space is possible.

Running incidents by asking where instead of when seems plausible at first but I do see some difficulties. Let's examine a hypothetical dianetics session using a "where" question instead of a "when" question. Here we go, "Move to the beginning of the incident and tell me when you are there.", the pc answers and the auditor says good. Next the auditor says where was that incident? the pc gives the auditor the coordinates of the incident with respect to their present location, Let's say the pc says the location was the northwest corner of 5th and Main in Philadelphia. Now, we cannot ask when that was because there is no time. You know where but you are left with unknowns. More than one incident could have occurred there, how does one select which particular incident on the basis of location alone?

One positive from all this, we can add one more item which is possible in a no time model of the universe, that item being that space can be separated into more than just one point, i.e there can be as many points in space as one choses.

However, this realization Immediately this brings up more problems. How was the pc able to experience an incident at 5th and Main and be at some different location NOW. It seems to me that at that instant of recognition where a being realize he WAS at 5th and Main in Philly but is no longer there, the concept of time immediately comes back into existence!!!

Really, that is it in a nutshell, to move from one point of space to another, mechanics has to enter into the mix and with the mechanics comes the concept of movement from one location to another and with that, as long as a spiritual being has a memory, some version of time passage must be postulated to exist, using the English definition for postulate and not Hubbard's

JUST LOOKING FROM THE METAPHYSICAL SIDE OF LIFE AT A NOT TIME MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE

Up to know, I have been playing Devil's advocate with you, Maria. That being said, I admit that I do see that looking at a NO TIME MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE DOES HAVE POTENTIAL TO POSSIBLY GET A DEEPER AND FULLER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BASIC NATURE OF WHAT WE SPIRITUAL BEINGS ARE. Giving up the concept of time, all sorts of variable are removed from life as we currently know and live it in this realm of existence. Giving up the concept of time is an extreme effort to think outside the box. Using such a technique seems very clever to me in that so many of the myriad portions of life are eliminated from what we have to think about so that we can zero in our limited mental reasoning powers into a much smaller zone than before and more likely than not come up with some new realizations which might not have otherwise been possible.

LOOKING AT A PING PONG GAME WITH NEW NET OR NO PING PONG BALL

A metaphor might be to play ping pong without a net or in the extreme case without a ping pong ball and attempt to get more insight into the game. For removing the net, many of the functions of the game are eliminated but much still remains. If one visualizes playing the game without a net, the chances are that you will gain more insights into playing the standard game. Get even more extreme by taking away the ping pong ball but go ahead and put back the net and even more functions of the game are eliminated and if you attempt to play a game without the ball, you may well hit on some new breakthrough about the game or you might not. Eliminate both the net and the ball, and to much is removed, if you attempt a game with both key elements removed, you are not likely to learn anything and are more likely to be just wasting your time.

So, in concluding, I agree with Maria that studying a model of the universe with no time may well lead those making such studies into new insights about the nature of the spirit.

Keep in mind that there remains a dimension of space, that continues to track a path of change. So nothing has to be thrown out; however time is only then a relative and abstract effect of movement in space.

You assume memory, thus time, is entailed as a constant for that I. Rather than as a local variable at the location. Hence the paradox that I am here and there or else that 'there' is in my constant time which is glued to here, or various other scenarios.

Giving up the concept of time is an extreme effort to think outside the box.

Certainly hard for humans but not for the pesky aliens we sent over to the ideal org; I am sure they will keep staff busy! Haha.

You can retain time as a dimension of space, thus spacetime; but not by itself, as if disembodied. That helps. This is why, although poorly executed, Interstellar had that spacetime box near the end, in which the character was trapped. The movie tries to depict time spatially, rather than a linear event-based arrow of time.

Because objectives are spatial they can shatter a pc's time fixation. That is why that works. But that is as far as Scn dares take it since they are committed to the time construct version of the mind.

Objectives are nothing more than getting a person to agree to be commanded by other with the convoluted idea that they are actually controlling themselves when they are not.

Keep in mind that there remains a dimension of space, that continues to track a path of change. So nothing has to be thrown out; however time is only then a relative and abstract effect of movement in space.

Still, that dimension of space can't be measured with a ruler or a transit, as in surveying. It must still be measured by some sort of CLOCK, mechanical, electronic or atomic (for best accuracy).

You assume the pc is not really able to go there due to it being a memory and that the PC does not have an incident in mind but would confuse events; and you also assume memory is needed at all to go there.

Well, if the PC does not have an incident in mind then why would he be receiving a session? I wasn't assuming memory; in my scenario, memory is banned. I assumed instant recall but that was precisely my point, as soon as an earlier incident is recalled, time is immediately introduced into the universe.

You assume memory, thus time, is entailed as a constant for that I. Rather than as a local variable at the location. Hence the paradox that I am here and there or else that 'there' is in my constant time which is glued to here, or various other scenarios.

I assume instant recall, just knowing instantly that you were at some point previously. It's true that this alone is sufficient to return time back into this model of the universe, that was precisely the point I was making. Can you elaborate a little about this local variable at the location and how its existence circumvents the introduction of time bake into the universe?

Certainly hard for humans but not for the pesky aliens we sent over to the ideal org; I am sure they will keep staff busy! Haha.

I don't see how time can be disembodied from space or spacetime. If you have a space with no energy or objects, then you can add 'no time' to the list of attributes of that space as well. I guess Einstein's famous Equation shows that E = M times C times C. This equation shows a relationship between matter, energy space and time in terms of Newtonian physics. In Einstein's special theory of relativity, the same exact equation shows a relationship between matter, energy and spacetime.

That's about as far as I can take it. I can see some value for a no time model of the universe as an aid to understand better the human spirit. In a no time universe things concerning the human spirit can be viewed without having to wade through all the complexities of understanding physics, relativity theory and all the other physical sciences.

I don't quite get the concept of a linear event-based local phenomena. If I can get more understanding on that concept, perhaps I can agree with you more than i do now. I am a bit leery that this local phenomena is part of an ad hoc proof but since it is Maria using this artifice, i doubt if she would use anything resembling an ad hoc proof.

Keep in mind that all this is speculative, a thought experiment. That said, the idea is not to recall but to travel there. Go. (In this highly speculative view of what happens if one throws away time.) Keep in mind that this maze like model can be compared to the medieval model of emanation, which is quite solidly centered on time, the falling of soul into time. Matter in ancient models was illusion; the abstraction of form was the real. The fall away from reality was to enter into causality, I.e., time and bodies, etc. The spatial model falls away from the Medieval privileging of time and instead privileges space.

No, Maria, I saw on Tony Ortega's Underground Bunker, that the Valley Org, not quite Ideal yet, will take you from WOG to clear for only $27,500. As great as that is, the IDEAL L.A. Org will take you there for only $19,500. How is that for a bargain!!! The aliens should just love the L.A. Org, especially with their prices being so low!

That reminds me of a joke I know about life insurance for a man and his family.

The first provider would insure the man and his family from cradle to grave for only $4,000 a year!
The second provider sweetened the deal by keeping the price at $4,000 a year but extending the coverage from cradle to grave all the to from womb to tomb!!
The third provider knew he was up against some great deals but actually came up with an even sweeter deal by extending the coverage all the way to from erection to resurrection!!! Needless to say, the third provider was the one who was awarded the contract.:happydance::yes:

This is true insofar as it refers to the way Objectives have been run (and still are) in the CofS. This is what they taught. And drilled. Into their students.

But it is NOT the way these processes ought to be run. Two-way comm should be free and flowing back and forth all the time. At no time EVER should the pc be allowed to go out of PT or sink into his bank. At the first indication of this the auditor should intervene and with TWC get him back into PT again.

The purpose of the process - or rather, the mechanism of it, the way it works when done properly, is to get the preclear to distinguish clearly in his own conscious mind between acting "on automatic" and acting in obedience to his own "will" and "intent". He is not to respond to the auditor's command by "obeying" them. This would make him a robot, which we don't want. He hears the instruction or question - takes it on as his own, and then on his own determinism does it/answers it. Refer also to the later CCH of "You decide when to touch it and then touch it" etc.

With the TWC - when the pc answers "yes" to "You look at that wall" the auditor can, and regularly should, ask something like "What do you see there? Describe it". When having walked over to it, the auditor could ask "Did you walk the body or did it just walk by itself because you wanted it to?" and then, if appropriate, take him back to where he started and have him actually walk the body across the room.

Be very sure that it is him, thetan, making the body walk, and touch and so on. Never ever allow even a single command be followed circuitwise by the preclear.

And so on.

And it does not take long before the guy is exterior and blowing his bank in grand style. Preclears love it when the processes are run this way. Cog after cog after cog and VVVGIs after session regularly.
