I admit that using that technique was immature but something inside of me told me to treat you with disrespect because you automatically seemed to be against everything I write and so that made it okay to insult you. What ever it was inside me to make me act so immature has not moved out and will offer you an apology for posting in such an immature manner.
I was simply reacting to what I thought were incoherent posts. When you upped your posting quality be providing excellent references and links, I responded by treating you with respect. BTW, what does FIFY stand for. Both you and MrNobody had spoken badly of me since FIFY but I don't know what those initials stand for. Can you please tell me.
FIFY = Fixed It For You.
Well, I might have been a little quicker with the fingers, but you got the credit mate. C'est la vie eh.FIFY = Fixed It For You.
Edit: I just saw that Strat was a little quicker with the fingers than I was.
No intention of gatecrashing either, just saw a question you wanted an answer to.

FIFY= Fixed it for you/ya
It's a kind of internet/msg board device. So if person writes "I am always genial" but people think, ohhh, no, he's not. They might change his text to "I am always pissed off" or do one of those [STRIKE]cross out things[/STRIKE] and make sure it's all still in quotes, then put FIFY underneath it.
I'll just be lowkey and say, people who do this are trying to get a point across.
Oh thanks. That must have concerned a certain individual who attended Johnny Raffanello's funeral service. I mentioned that I bumped into this guy and his wife and his wife shock hands with me and asked how I was. I thought that I asked this individual how he was doing and that he ignored me. He then PM'd and told me that he said hello back to me but I just didn't hear it. I accepted that and told him that I would change my post to reflect this new data. There were a couple of other adjustments which he wanted made to my post so I did all of those as well. After that he PMed me and thanked me. He seemed okay and even sent me a 3rd post which was friendly. Was there something which I did wrong there that would turn two posters against me?

It's just a general-purpose acronym Lakey.Thanks for explaining that. I am very [strike]greatfull[/strike] grateful FIFY<snip>

Thanks for explaining that. I am very greatfull. I certainly have never done a FIFY on anyone else's post. I don't even know how to do it. I did remove a drawing and letters done in extremely large Font by Free Be Me when I replied to one of his posts. I just wanted to reply to the few words which he wrote and felt no need to duplicate that giant blue drawing. Maybe that is what those two parties were upset about.

Conversations on the internet are not the same as ones in real life. Certain things like body language and facial expressions are missing. Some stuff gets magnified.
Then good people sometimes get mad at each other or confused.
I couldn't agree with you more!! < as far as I read >
Lakey
Whether you agree or disagree with something I post is not something that makes any difference whatsoever to me as I don't care one way or the other.
You could, if you were so inclined, save yourself a few keystrokes by not bothering to post whether or not you agree with me or not - all is does is make me giggle.
Gees. my programming days were from 1962 to 1971, all done in FORTRAN language, typed onto punch cards and fed into big main frame computers. There were not even disc drives, everything was on reel to reel tape for most of my career. I believe that large disc drives started to arrive about 3 years before my programming career ended
In my day, all the software was already built in to the large main frame computer. We wrote our code on special paper and turned it in to the key punch operators. A deck of cards would come back. For data entry, I would usually go to a key punch machine myself and enter all the data and parameters which were to be variables and place them behind the main deck of cards and then submit the whole thing to the computer room. In about 6 hours, computer operators would run the program and deliver the card deck wrapped inside the pages of computer printout into a pigeon hole which was my box. All day long I would be walking by that box hoping that the results of my program had come back.
That procedure has nothing whatsoever in common with being knowledgeable about today's computer systems. 3 years is a large span of time in computer tech nowadays.
I have been out of the loop for 44 years. My experience with computers would correspond to the stone age of human history. What I did then has no bearing on what I can do now on today's computers.
I noticed with my Son at first. When he was 3 1/2, in early 1985 we got our first computer at my office. It was an IBM PC with floppy discs and the system was MSDOS. I had to read manuals to do each step. My 3 1/2 year old kid came over and started working that computer like a pro. By the time he was 5 or 6, he was a whiz. Next my beautiful daughter was born in 1987, in pre school, age 3 or 4, she could work a computer like a pro.
By the time those kids were in high school, they were computer experts and I could barely turn on my computer.
There seems to be something of a generational gap where today's seniors do not take well to computers, cell phones and the like while the younger people pick it up instantly as if it is seconds nature. I know there are exceptions to this rule but the rules is pretty accurate!
Anyway, I would appreciate it if you would show me some respect and not poke fun at me for not understanding modern computers just because I wrote FORTRAN CODE for a living about 59 years ago.

I am going to try a paste copy of my post and repost it as a new post. Will that work in getting the red tint out?

My text.
By the way, what does FIFY stand for? You and FBM seem to be mad at me for FIFY and I have no idea what those initials stand for.

Then again, there's the actual "quote it" icon in the posting toolbar above (2nd line 4th from right). It looks like a word bubble icon and reads "wrap quote tags around selected text".
