Do you get your wallet back or carry phoney wallets?

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Home Depot customers.

Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping.
Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic.
Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.

When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Home Depot. You agree and they get in the backseat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen January 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th 29th. Also February 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

So tell your friends to be careful......!!!!!!!!!!

Do you have a resevoir of beat up old wallets with no credit cards, licences or money in them? I wonder if this scam is being practiced where I live. I think I will buy some cheap wallets, fill them with Monopoly money, lock my real wallet in the glove compartment and then head out to some local Home Depots to check this out. Just kidding (or am I telling the truth?)

squirreled Knowledgism Process

Get Out There

These are some observations I’ve made over the last year regarding Positive and Negative ideas, thoughts, etc.

Per Alan Walters positive processing writings if you run the positive the negative will run itself out.

I think this is brilliant but not as easy to implement as one might think. I have found that getting out there and doing whatever it is you enjoy is a valuable process. I even would go so far as to say it is the only positive process that will work when you are running yourself.

Seems most other processing leads to failure because you just run into what it is that got you into your current state and you then solve it the same way that also didn’t work before.

Cases are co-created by self and others. You didn’t do it all and they didn’t do it all. It is the opposing that goes on that creates and makes your case persist.

If you observe people up and down the Zones you will notice that the lower on the chart people are the more they oppose people, ideas, themselves, etc. When you connect with a lower zone person, they of course oppose you too. My response to this has been to return the favor and oppose them as well. IE: You just don’t like the fact that they are calling you an asshole and you respond with ‘What a Jerk’. These oppositions fuse and now tag along in time. Obviously the most optimum is to be connected with people you can agree with.

As you ascend the Zones the opposing drops away and you get more agreeing or co-creating. It goes from Lose-Lose to Win-Lose & Lose-Win to Win-Win. But the people or the way you relate to people has to change. You know, win-win is co-created too.

So, what does getting out there and doing what you really enjoy do for you?

First it is easy to do because you like it. Could it be the world’s most simple, powerful process? It is natural and your own indicators show this. This flips you into your positive and you expand and go ‘WOW’. Life is now great.
It’s a very simple process and can be run on anyone, unless they are in such opposition that they will not let you win at even that. Eeek. It happens. But even this can be improved on by processing yourself to find your side of the equation.

The trick to making this work is to ‘Make the most of it’. That would be really creating what you enjoy to maximize the enjoyment. This will make you even bigger. You will find yourself connecting to others doing the same thing so you have a positive to co-create. It requires your investing into it. You spend time and money which helps create the space.

The process can take awhile as you commit to whatever it is. A little opposition to overcome may even help as you create it harder in order to overcome the stop. You can spend a year, several years, or longer on the whole cycle.

If you don’t earn it, it won’t work and will backfire. IE: Stealing a car for a joyride will provide euphoria but only for a moment and then the crash and burn.

Then watch for the trigger points as you come off this natural high. And you will come off it. But, boy can you gain from it. You need to pan-determinedly observe how the triggers work and then permeate them to learn how you and others do it. How do we keep each other small?

What is it that I do help others attain their wants?
What is it that I do to stop others from attaining their wants?
What is it that others do…etc?
How do the oppositions work?

It does take a bit of knowledge and skill to catch these events but just looking at them will help a lot.

It just helps a lot to be big enough so you can see. How else can you get big enough while staying positive?

I have however observed that this can turn on some large chunks of case. You can get ‘Crash and Burns’ turning on. The trick is ‘get back on the horse’ and continue. If you quit life can get pretty miserable as you start to oppose your own dreams. Just don’t let anyone stop you from doing what you like.

From my own personal experience: (You will have your own)

I remember getting a bicycle when I moved to California from Minneapolis back in the early 80’s. I liked riding and put money and time into. This made life worth living again as just about this time is when I dropped out of Scn “Giving up my way out” J I had given up on processing.

I got so I could ride 100 miles in a day. This was a goal and a thrill to attain. I made friends and we would meet on Sunday mornings for a chat and a ride. Did this for twenty years and stayed friends that long.

I lost this after riding to Phoenix and damaging a knee combined with running on the leg. I did not fix the knee at that time, as it was too expensive with unsure results. Today, I still have the bike but don’t ride. But, I sure remember the thrills and appreciate the life it did give me.

Other examples include photography, movies, and friends.

The latest thing has been ATV riding. My wife and I bought a Toy Hauler, a big diesel pickup, and ATV’s. This was the result of first getting an ATV from Ann’s granddaughter and finding out I really liked it.

This last year we have been to the Sand Dunes in the southern California desert several times, to Moab, Utah and Marysvale, Utah. It has been a thrill and we are now looking at buying a Sand Car for use in the desert as well as off-road. It should rattle our bones a lot less and be more comfortable for both of as we age.

It costs money but I think what you like is the best place to spend your money. The return is very good.

So, get out there and do what turns YOU on……

Scientology didn't get that "Old lady judges watch people in pairs, limited in sex they dare," attitude until after we left.

You mean "To push fake morals, insult and stare"?
You know that "money doesn't talk, it swears"
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony.:thumbsup::clap:

How much can you apply to scn?:omg:

You are so right. I've had that album since I was 14 in junior high. We got "Times They Are a Changin'" played at our graduation dance. This was Dylan's first folk rock album., "Bringing It All Back Home" My dad, now dead, used to like Dylan's words. I liked my parents' music. They liked a lot of mine. Same is true with our kids.

These words really could be about a Scientology life.

It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)

Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child’s balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying.

Pointed threats, they bluff with scorn
Suicide remarks are torn
From the fool’s gold mouthpiece the hollow horn
Plays wasted words, proves to warn
That he not busy being born is busy dying.

Temptation’s page flies out the door
You follow, find yourself at war
Watch waterfalls of pity roar
You feel to moan but unlike before
You discover that you’d just be one more
Person crying.

So don’t fear if you hear
A foreign sound to your ear
It’s alright, Ma, I’m only sighing.

As some warn victory, some downfall
Private reasons great or small
Can be seen in the eyes of those that call
To make all that should be killed to crawl
While others say don’t hate nothing at all
Except hatred.

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Make everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It’s easy to see without looking too far
That not much is really sacred.

While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have to stand naked.

An’ though the rules of the road have been lodged
It’s only people’s games that you got to dodge
And it’s alright, Ma, I can make it.

Advertising signs they con
You into thinking you’re the one
That can do what’s never been done
That can win what’s never been won
Meantime life outside goes on
All around you.

You lose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks they really found you.

A question in your nerves is lit
Yet you know there is no answer fit
To satisfy, insure you not to quit
To keep it in your mind and not forget
That it is not he or she or them or it
That you belong to.

Although the masters make the rules
For the wise men and the fools
I got nothing, Ma, to live up to.

For them that must obey authority
That they do not respect in any degree
Who despise their jobs, their destinies
Speak jealously of them that are free
Cultivate their flowers to be
Nothing more than something they invest in.

While some on principles baptized
To strict party platform ties
Social clubs in drag disguise
Outsiders they can freely criticize
Tell nothing except who to idolize
And then say God bless him.

While one who sings with his tongue on fire
Gargles in the rat race choir
Bent out of shape from society’s pliers
Cares not to come up any higher
But rather get you down in the hole
That he’s in.

But I mean no harm nor put fault
On anyone that lives in a vault
But it’s alright, Ma, if I can’t please him.

Old lady judges watch people in pairs
Limited in sex, they dare
To push fake morals, insult and stare
While money doesn’t talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony.

While them that defend what they cannot see
With a killer’s pride, security
It blows the minds most bitterly
For them that think death’s honesty
Won’t fall upon them naturally
Life sometimes must get lonely.

My eyes collide head-on with stuffed
Graveyards, false gods, I scuff
At pettiness which plays so rough
Walk upside-down inside handcuffs
Kick my legs to crash it off
Say okay, I have had enough
What else can you show me?

And if my thought-dreams could be seen
They’d probably put my head in a guillotine
But it’s alright, Ma, it’s life, and life only.

I am not sure what they were going to do and if it was actual training or further qualifying. She did say that she would train me how to put the bids together the way the government likes it done. HERE IS SOME MORE VITAL DATA:

IN THE EYES OF THE U.S. GOVENMENT A SMALL BUSINESS IS UNDER 35 EMPLOYEES AND UNDER 11 MILLION A YEAR IN PROFITS. ABOVE THAT IIT IS CONSIDERED MID SIZED OR BIG BUSINESS.

She said the jobs available ranged from $25,000 to $20,000,000. She said the breakdown point in the Government's eyes was $1,500,000. Below that was considered a small job and above it is a big job. She said to stay away from big jobs because the doucments and routing forms and all the red tape to get a big job through is much longer and harder. The biggest residential job I have done is only $250,000 so she suggested I keep this as my upper limit in selecting jobs to bid or maybe go a bit higher than that. She just said that as long as they are below $1.5 million that is the main thing.

HER TRUMP CARD Svetlana said that a lot of the time, only large companies, over 35 employees would bid on smaller jobs, say $250,000 and no small companies would choose to bid on a particular job. She said that the Government law for the Obabma economic recovery package stipulates that Small Business are to do 35% of all the jobs placed out there for bid.
The key thing is that there is a 5% rule that if a Large Business and a Small Business are both biding on the same job, the government must choose the Small Business as long as they are no more than 5% higher than the large business if the small businesses are receiving less than their 35% share of all jobs.

She says that in the course of her job, she gets to reveiw all the bids on various projects and if she sees that only Large Companies have bid, SHE WILL COME AND TELL ME THAT IF I WILL BID 5% MORE THAN THE LOWEST OF THE LARGE COMPANY BIDS THAT I MUST BE AWARDED THE JOB. SHE STRESSED THAT THIS WAS WHAT MADE HER SERVICE SO VALUABLE AND THAT NO ONE ELSE COULD DO THIS FUNCTION EXCEPT FOR HER COMPANY. This really sounded very good to me and whetted my appetite to sign up.

NOW THEY HAD TWO LEGS OF A 3 LEG STOOL IN PLACE.
#1 I WOULD JOIN SVETLANA'S TEAM. WE WOULD BE IN TOUCH DAILY BY PHONE AND EMAIL AND WE WOULD BE MEETING OFTEN TO REVEIW OUR BIDS AND DISCUSS STRATEGIES. SHE MADE IT SOUND AS IF SHE TRIED TO PICK PEOPLE FOR HER TEAM WHO MATCHED UP WELL WITH HER MENTALLY AND THOUGHT THE SAME WAY SHE DID. SHE TOLD ME THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS SHECHOSE ME OUT OF THE 5. (Could there just be some truth in her explanation here? I would like to think so but perhaps she spotted how gullable I was and perceived me as the easiest mark out of the 5 builders.)

#2 Her company, especially with her as my team leader, could completely bring my business into affluence if I would only just sign up. The fees of $100 a month plus 3% of my sales seemed very fair. I was done - just stick a fork in me. Now and only now did she bring up the $4,500 in fees.

#3 I had already decided to sign up but only now did she mention the $4,500 pre signing fees. There were 3 payment totalling $4,500 including $900 down. She said I would need $2000 more in one week and $1600 more in two weeks. I THEN KNEW I WAS NOT GOING TO GO ALONG WITH IT. I AM JUST NOT GULLABLE ENOUGH TO PAY THAT KIND OF MONEY TO TOTAL STRANGERS. She said I would start receiving my leads in one month or 2 weeks after my last payment. This smelled fishy too. They had all your money two weeks before the program was to start paying off.
I should have said thanks but no thanks and walked out but I decided to authorize the $900 deposit and try and do more research over the weekend so that if there was any merit in this company, I would not jeopardize my position. I figured that I could stop payment on my check on Monday which is what I did.

The U-2 Spy Plane

I thought this article was fascinating.

U-2 Spy Plane Evades the Day of Retirement
by Christopher Drew
Monday, March 22, 2010
New York Times

The U-2 spy plane, the high-flying aircraft that was often at the heart of cold war suspense, is enjoying an encore.

Four years ago, the Pentagon was ready to start retiring the plane, which took its first test flight in 1955. But Congress blocked that, saying the plane was still useful.

And so it is. Because of updates in the use of its powerful sensors, it has become the most sought-after spy craft in a very different war in Afghanistan.

As it shifts from hunting for nuclear missiles to detecting roadside bombs, it is outshining even the unmanned drones in gathering a rich array of intelligence used to fight the Taliban.

All this is a remarkable change from the U-2's early days as a player in United States-Soviet espionage. Built to find Soviet missiles, it became famous when Francis Gary Powers was shot down in one while streaking across the Soviet Union in 1960, and again when another U-2 took the photographs that set off the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. Newer versions of the plane have gathered intelligence in every war since then and still monitor countries like North Korea.

Now the U-2 and its pilots, once isolated in their spacesuits at 70,000 feet, are in direct radio contact with the troops in Afghanistan. And instead of following a rote path, they are now shifted frequently in midflight to scout roads for convoys and aid soldiers in firefights.

In some ways, the U-2, which flew its first mission in 1956, is like an updated version of an Etch A Sketch in an era of high-tech computer games.

"It's like after all the years it's flown, the U-2 is in its prime again," said Lt. Col. Jason M. Brown, who commands an intelligence squadron that plans the missions and analyzes much of the data. "It can do things that nothing else can do."

One of those things, improbably enough, is that even from 13 miles up its sensors can detect small disturbances in the dirt, providing a new way to find makeshift mines that kill many soldiers.

In the weeks leading up to the recent offensive in Marja, military officials said, several of the 32 remaining U-2s found nearly 150 possible mines in roads and helicopter landing areas, enabling the Marines to blow them up before approaching the town.

Marine officers say they relied on photographs from the U-2's old film cameras, which take panoramic images at such a high resolution they can see insurgent footpaths, while the U-2's newer digital cameras beamed back frequent updates on 25 spots where the Marines thought they could be vulnerable.

In addition, the U-2's altitude, once a defense against antiaircraft missiles, enables it to scoop up signals from insurgent phone conversations that mountains would otherwise block.

As a result, Colonel Brown said, the U-2 is often able to collect information that suggests where to send the Predator and Reaper drones, which take video and also fire missiles. He said the most reliable intelligence comes when the U-2s and the drones are all concentrated over the same area, as is increasingly the case.

The U-2, a black jet with long, narrow wings to help it slip through the thin air, cuts an impressive figure as it rises rapidly into the sky. It flies at twice the height of a commercial jet, affording pilots views of such things as the earth's curvature.

But the plane, nicknamed the Dragon Lady, is difficult to fly, and missions are grueling and dangerous. The U-2s used in Afghanistan and Iraq commute each day from a base near the Persian Gulf, and the trip can last nine to 12 hours. Pilots eat meals squeezed through tubes and wear spacesuits because their blood would literally boil if they had to eject unprotected at such a high altitude.

As the number of flights increases, some of the plane's 60 pilots have suffered from the same disorienting illness, known as the bends, that afflicts deep-sea divers who ascend too quickly.

Relaxing recently in their clubhouse at Beale Air Force Base near Sacramento, Calif., the U-2's home base, several pilots said the most common problems are sharp joint pain or a temporary fogginess.

But in 2006, a U-2 pilot almost crashed after drifting in and out of consciousness during a flight over Afghanistan. The pilot, Kevin Henry, now a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, said in an interview that he felt as if he were drunk, and he suffered some brain damage. At one point, he said, he came within five feet of smashing into the ground before miraculously finding a runway.

As a safety measure, U-2 pilots start breathing pure oxygen an hour before takeoff to reduce the nitrogen in their bodies and cut the risk of decompression sickness. Mr. Henry, who now instructs pilots on safety, thinks problems with his helmet seal kept him from breathing enough pure oxygen before his flight.

Lt. Col. Kelly N. West, the chief of aerospace medicine at Beale, said one other pilot had also been disqualified from flying the U-2. Since 2002, six pilots have transferred out on their own after suffering decompression illnesses.

Still, most of the pilots remain undeterred, and the Air Force is taking more precautions. Holding an oxygen mask to his nose, one pilot, Maj. Eric M. Shontz, hopped on an elliptical machine for 10 minutes before a practice flight at Beale to help dispel the nitrogen faster. Several assistants then made sure he stayed connected to an oxygen machine as they sealed his spacesuit and drove him to the plane.

Major Shontz and other U-2 pilots say the planes gradually became more integrated in the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. But since the flights over Afghanistan began to surge in early 2009, the U-2s have become a much more fluid part of the daily battle plan.

Major Shontz said he was on the radio late last year with an officer as a rocket-propelled grenade exploded. "You could hear his voice talking faster and faster, and he's telling me that he needs air support," Major Shontz recalled. He said that a minute after he relayed the message, an A-10 gunship was sent to help.

Brig. Gen. H.D. Polumbo Jr., a top policy official with the Air Force, said recent decisions to give intelligence analysts more flexibility in figuring out how to use the U-2 each day had added to its revival.

Over beers at the clubhouse, decorated with scrolls honoring the heroes of their small fraternity, other U-2 pilots say they know their aircraft's reprieve will last only so long.

And the U-2's replacement sits right across the base — the Global Hawk, a remote-controlled drone that flies almost as high as the U-2 and typically stays aloft for 24 hours or more. The first few Global Hawks have been taking intelligence photos in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But a larger model that could also intercept communications has been delayed, and the Air Force is studying how to add sensors that can detect roadside bombs to other planes. So officials say it will most likely be 2013 at the earliest before the U-2 is phased into retirement.

"We've needed to be nimble to stay relevant," said Doug P. McMahon, a major who has flown the U-2 for three years. "But eventually it's bound to end."

This reminds me of the Mario Video Games

To respond to Carmelo, the U2 plane and the concept of bringing back very well designed old tech reminds me of the Mario Brothers video games.

The Mario 1 and Mario 3 video games were done so well around 1990, that despite the fact that they are relics now technically, the manufacturers have been able to tweak them and give them new life. For example, the racoon tail which enables Mario and Luigi to fly. I finally visited my daughter in Santa Barbara on Sunday, and of all things, they were playing the Mario Bros. video game while I was there.

On the U2 plane, I was happy to see that there is a technology to spot road side bombs. When the suicide bombers were very active in both Iran and Israel I used to wander if it would be possible to have some kind of machine which could sense hidden bombs and perhaps even detonate them remotely. The remote detonation would only be used if the suicide bomber was away from large crowds on his way to do his or her mission.

We give away, through the guise of freedom of the press, way too much information to our enemies.

Additionally, when script writers get together to brainstorm their next movie or TV show, the inventive scripts they come up with are just brilliant training for criminals of all kinds to copy. We have long since passed the time when a writer could tell an emotional compelling story and bring it to market. Nowadays the stories are embellished with all manner of detail about the politics, military and law enforcement capabilities, and so on.

So tell me, please... why in God's name would you fall for this prank more than once?

This was a copy / paste of a funny joke e mail that got sent out about a year ago. I meant it to parallel Lakey's situation. It wasn't meant to be taken literally.

On a daily basis I share jokes, political and economic writings, personal thoughts, etc with friends the world over. If I get something really good, I pass it on. Some of the things I've gotten recently I've posted here. I usually don't post others' stuff, but occasionally I do.

This seems like an allegory!

So far the story is plausible.

I had my wallet stolen January 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th 29th. Also February 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th, three times last Saturday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

Plausibility breaks down in this paragraph. The main reasons are twofold. There is the physical difficulty of replacing your wallet's contents on a daily basis, items such as your driver's license and credit cards take a lot of time to replace. This flaw in logic can be overcome by Carmelo getting dummy wallets and just stuffing them with play money but then once the girls recognize his car, they will remember they already robbed him and will not approach him again. This objection could be overcome for perhaps a few instances. Maybe there is a ring of teenage girls working this scam at several Home Depots and someone may be able to have a second scam or even a third by using a phoney wallet. After Carmelo or some other "client" conned the girls once or twice, they would put out the word to the other girls in their ring and the ring would either move to greener pastures or watch out for Carmelo and avoid going after him.

The real tip off that its an allegory iA the last sentence where he tells you that he thinks he will do it again this coming weekend! As an allegory, it is a very effective illustration! I think it was aimed at me because of my story with Svetlana.

So tell your friends to be careful......!!!!!!!!!!

This story seems like an allegory, a short moral tale, something like an Aesop's Fable, which illustrates how hung up a male can get allowing himself to be distracted improperly by an unhealthy interest in things of a sexual nature. Perhaps Carmelo is trying to tell me and other males something.

Females get in trouble pursuing unhealthy interests in sexuality but to me it is quite different for them. The mechanisms of entrapment are more subtle and less direct. I am no expert but this is my opinion.

Very funny

This was a copy / paste of a funny joke e mail that got sent out about a year ago. I meant it to parallel Lakey's situation. It wasn't meant to be taken literally.

On a daily basis I share jokes, political and economic writings, personal thoughts, etc with friends the world over. If I get something really good, I pass it on. Some of the things I've gotten recently I've posted here. I usually don't post others' stuff, but occasionally I do.

I thought the joke was hysterical!!! :dieslaughing: Please tell some more. :eyeroll:
